Free Agency

Recommended Posts

For the Bills to win now, Free Agency is the only way to go. Restructure replacable players, or boot em. Then get "Proven" free agents. Top grabs: DT, OT. If we cannot get both in free agency, trade to get two early first round picks. The heck with they need to go offensively, or they need to go defensively. Get good free agents, then draft for the future. Are we possibly down to one good, soon to retire, defensive tackle? We need to make wise desicions now.

Can anyone post the dates that free agency starts, when Franchise Tags get put on , Draft Date and when players must be cut to save (if there is a date this year)

The NFL Free Agency signing period begins on March 3rd. Do'nt know yet about deadline for franchise tags.

The NFL Draft is April 29-30.

My guess is you will not see a a lot of action on the FA front with Marv in charge. At least back in the day, Marv was not a big fan of Free Agents. His favorite mantra was the moving player almost always " hurt the team he was leaving more than helping the team he was going to".

That said, if they really believe the future is now, can't see only the draft making us contenders next year. Should be interesting

The above is simply not true. There are very few good free agents out there now, and many of them will be signed by their respective teams before they hit the market. Others might be designated franchise players.

Even when free agency served a more prominent role in building a football team, it's primary use was to plug holes. Drafting good young football players is the proven way to go, and the reason why TD is no longer with us.
