Your not a true Bills fan if you can not support a person that BLEEDS Red, White and Blue - Eric Moulds.

and BTW: I would'nt listen to a WR's coach who I know more about football than he does ... good job Eric! You did right!

well the one sad thing about all this is it could be erics last game at home as a bill.i harp on him alot but he was a good player for the bills.even if he was playing at a all pro level there is no way he could stay at 11 million dollars next year.

There is a bunch of people who are going to wear orange as a protest against our GM and Coach. Wear an orange hunting cap or jacket if yo got it.

Or Better yet, don't go to the game. leave the stadium more hten half empty and see if that drives the point home. Just don't be stupid and start showing support for any Bill. they haven't earned it, and we need to ensure major changes are made ASAP.

EM IMO should have kept his mouth shut and did what he was told. He didn't and he was suspended. Moulds deserve what he got, a 1 game suspension.

Anyone who feels that Eric Moulds got the raw end of this deal can show support to Moulds by wearing an Eric Moulds jersey, or anything with #80 on it. The security guards can't throw us out for wearing his jersey and this is the perfect way of showing that we're on his side.

We did that last Sunday. Some guys in our section also had two Moulds jerseys hung over the front rail in the endzone.

It doesn't matter apparently. A whole bunch of people don't care that he beats women and didn't pay child support.

Excellent point. In addition to embarrassing the team while off the field, it's been a while since he's done anything special on the field. Back when Moulds got hurt in 2003, Bobby Shaw stepped in and became the go-to receiver. IIRC, Shaw had about 800 receiving yards that year. Now he's out of football. So the 511 yards Eric has this year fail to impress me--especially when the other team always gangs up to stop the run.

People cite Moulds' paycuts as a sign of generosity. They are not. A lot of contracts are set up from the get-go to force a renegotiation at some point. Take a contract that pays a guy a $5 million signing bonus, then an annual salary of $1 million, $2 million, $2 million, $2 million, and $10 million. Everyone knows there's no way the player is collecting that $10 million in base salary in year 5. Why put it in there then? Because now the deal is technically a five year deal, so the team can amortize the signing bonus over five years instead of four. Also, after year four, the team gets first crack at negotiating the next deal with the player, instead of letting him hit free agency. The player has some power too: he can simply refuse to renegotiate, forcing the team to cut him after year four.

exactly. also, renegotiations and "lowering a cap number" dont always equate to "lowering salary" i posted a few days ago on renegotiations, and how the player gets MORE money for renegotiating. they essentially get another signing bonus, so more money up front, to lower their salary, and thus their cap number. its not like moulds has been giving millions of dollars back to the bills or anything.

here was my earlier post:

For instance...a player has a 4 year deal for 20 million with a 6 mil signing bonus, and salaries of 2,3,4,5 million for years 1-4. Each year will have a 1.5 mil cap hit for the bonus.

after 2 years, the player renegotiates to lower his cap number in year 3. instead of a 4 mil salary, he lowers it to 1 mil, and takes the 3 mil diff in signing bonus at the renegotiation. so here are the old and new cap hits

Original contract

year 3: 4 mil salary + 1.5 mil SB = 5.5 mil cap hit (actually paid 4 mil in salary)

year 4: 5 mil salary + 1.5 mil SB = 6.5 mil

Renegotiated contract:

year 3: 1 mil salary + 1.5 mil original SB + 1.5 new SB = 4 mil cap hit (paid 1 mil in salary + 3 mil SB)

year 4: 5 mil salary + 1.5 mil original SB + 1.5 new SB = 8 mil cap hit

Moulds has done his bit throughout the ten years he's been with the team. He's taken pay cuts, has accepted the role of a decoy receiver and has had so many incompetent quarterbacks that he can't count them on two hands. But he has always done whatever the team asked him, and now it is asking him to take a loss of week's paycheck while Bills head coach Mike Mularkey gets a pat on the back and a vote of confidence by the Bills 87-year old owner.

I'd like to see Eric Moulds have 2 or 3 touchdown catches this week, that way he can still prove that he can still be a top wideout in the league.

Sorry, aint buying what you're selling. Yes Moulds has been a Bill for 10 years, and he's been well compensated, that's it. No excuse for what he did two weeks ago...too many sources for this smoke to be a screen. He opted out of a game against the dolphins and you want to support him? Not me...
