Well, the office "bike" is awfully quiet at work this morning after the big Christmas bash a couple of nights ago........sitting at her desk, not looking anyone in the eyes this morning.

 

I mean, i don't know how you recover from some of the things she said and did at the party.

She's probably feeling like silence is the best course of action from her shame and regret.

Just skipped mine to go to another event on the same day.  Definitely , the office parties have deteriorated over the years where I work.  I think I am similar to you regarding not being close with my co workers.

I work in a very different world now. Parties and people’s behavior is much more subdued.  

 

Thoughts regarding what was considered “acceptable” behavior have changed significantly. Waaaaaay back in time, in a different industry, there was the “late” party which might be described as an alcohol fueled mess. There would be drunken, raunchy behavior for some. There was at least one person who deeply regretted their actions or behavior.

 

TBH the whole situation, even now, is difficult and possibly expensive. I would much prefer a quiet and simple thank you.
