He's better than Kelsay. But not quite Aaron Schobel yet. Though Schobel didn't become a Pro Bowler or an All Pro until Years 6 and 7. Rousseau is none of those guys. He has his own style. He gets pressure and he’s very good at setting the edge and defending the run. Neither shovel nor Kelsey was as good at the run as Rousseau. if you are giving these guys overall DE numbers Madden style, I would say at their peaks, he and Schobel would be basically the same score. Something like an 83 overall. i think Kelsey would be more of a 85 overall. Edited 3 hours ago by NoName Quote

But I would still take Rousseau by a good margin 5 hours ago, Sojourner said: I like Groot, so don’t get me wrong when I say he needs to be better. Consistency is the issue with him. Most of his career it’s been chunk production in handfuls of games. Last year I thought he was solid throughout, this year seems to be on par with 2023. Dominant is however, not a word I would associate with him. Flashes of it maybe. Dominant is Myles Garrett, Aiden Hutchinson, Nick Bosa and Maxx Crosby in the league today. Quality edge player, sure. I agree 💯 here. I thought he was really good vs Baltimore in the playoffs. He disappeared in the AFC championship Quote

He is the highest graded DE run defender, but only in the top 40 for pass rush. Players ranked above him in the top 10 are pretty much the household DE names, Garret, Parsons, Hutchinson, Anderson, Verse. Bosa is ranked 15. DE's are not our problem, its the injuries in the interior DL and McD's affinity for oft injured undersized LB's who aren't great tacklers. Couple that with the falloff in play of Taron and Benford, and the constant parade of defensive injuries. I'm going to throw the remote at the TV if we get gashed for another long run through the middle of our defense. 1 Quote
