Bulls are 3-0. UB Basketball might just be back! https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/video/_/gameId/401823427 1 3 Quote

Augie Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I wouldn’t get too excited over this particular victory. DePaul was 0-20 last year in the Big East, and 3-29 overall. They are horrible at basketball and the embarrassment of the Big East. Having said that, I’d love it if UB could have a good program for a while. It’s only for a while mind you, because as soon as your coaching is doing well he gets to step up in level of play and salary. Unless you are a blue blood like Kansas, Duke or UNC, you are always on the verge of having your coach poached for the $$$. Quote

You knowif you root for a mid major And we're talking mid major not Xavier level That's the life.. every University at Buffalo fan knows we have to cycle coaches and it's going to be never ending cycle Quote

We lost Sean Miller to Texas right after we played them in the last NCAA tournament. We previously lost him to Arizona until he got in trouble there and came back to the only place that would have him. And then he left AGAIN. Whatever, I couldn’t name 2 players on the current roster anyway with all the portal and NIL stuff. I no longer send my meager contribution to the sports program at a time when they are asking for more. It’s a mess. As I said, you have to be in the top handful of schools to be safe. Mark Few is one of my favorite people in sports because he knows he’s got a great situation, and he doesn’t have to try to climb the ladder. Good for him. I’d become a Gonzaga fan, but that would surely jinx them. Quote

Yeah but at least Xavier is mid major basketball school that is known for basketball historically 30 appearances in postseason tournaments 18 Time conference champions If I was a mid major basketball player Xavier would near the top of my list Edited 1 hour ago by Buffalo716 Quote

Then you pack your bags and go on to the next school. Xavier used to brag about graduating every player who used all of their eligibility. Now? It’s more like a series of pickup games at an open gym with the best players going to the highest bidder. For better or worse, that’s the “game” now. I’m hoping if I step back and ignore how the sausage is made that I can enjoy the season, even if I’ve become a quasi-Xavier hoops fan. I used to record every game, go to Cincinnati annually for a home game, attend any road game within a couple hour drive and follow them (to decent locales) in the Tournament if they were in the SE. Not any more. I hope they do well, and I hope to enjoy some of it, but it seems nothing is what it used to be….and it’s not all better. EDIT: I used to enjoy the high school recruiting and watching the young guys develop. You might get 4-6 years of following a committed HS player, maybe a redshirt and then his eligibility. Now I only get a few months to get to know the kids, and now it’s just not worth it for me that to try that hard. . Edited 1 hour ago by Augie 1 Quote
