Hi all,

I live near the Buffalo area and am planning on attending my very first Bills game this season! I've never been to Highmark Stadium before but since this is our last season in our current stadium, I definitely want to experience a home game there before we move to the new one. I'm looking at potentially making my way over there next weekend when we face the Buccaneers or our upcoming matchup against the Bengals. If I do go next weekend I'll definitely try to attend the Rally Day on Saturday as well!

Just a quick question for anyone who's familiar with attending games there. I have a hearing condition which makes it so that I am not supposed to expose myself to loud, sudden noises or it could be damaging for me. To what extent are fireworks, pyrotechnics, and the like used during Bills home games? At what points are they used before/during/after games, what is it like, and approximately how loud do they sound when sitting in the stands? I get that loudness is very subjective lol but any descriptions of what to expect would be helpful.

I know the crowd noise in itself can get extremely loud, this type of thing isn't so much a problem for me, it's any loud, sharp, or sudden bang or noise that I need to watch out for. So knowing about anything like that which is used during the games ahead of time will help me greatly in preparing and taking the right precautions. Also I know evening/primetime games might be a bit different in this regard, so I'm specifically asking about games played in the 1 PM or late afternoon slots as that is what I'll most likely be attending. Thank you so much everyone, I look forward to visiting soon for a game! Go Bills!! :)

The closer you sit to the field, the less you will be able to hear the PA system. Cover your ears before 3rd down if you don’t like loud noises as they blare the train horn. Like I said, you’ll barely be able to hear it when you’re close to the field

Don’t sit in the family section in the 200s as you’ll be right next to a stadium speaker

during the national anthem they blast off fireworks and some loud bangs.

Check out the electronic ear muffs that gun shooters use.  It allows you to hear conversations but compress's loud noises like gun shots.

Not sure if it would work on all the sounds, but it would probably handle the fireworks.  Not sure about the train whistle.

That’s a good choice, right behind those though are standard noise cancelling earbuds.  I use the Bose QC whatevers now because I’m on planes and trains a lot and they’re genius at blocking sharp noises while allowing conversation.  The apple ones are good too if you’re one of those people.
