You are bloviating. Obama isn't saying that at all, he is being very vague. You have no idea what he is saying because he is only suggesting SOMETHING might happen. You are jumping up and down claiming he wants something he did not even say. 

 

And you are being silly by saying this is just one side complaining about free speech. I mean, do you even live in our society? Both sides have restricted free speech.

This is somewhat true, albeit far more prevalent on the left, as a core tenet of their beliefs is the desire to control speech/discourse, specifically on social media.   We already have concrete examples of this.

 

Trump going off on Jessica Tarlov like a child and wanting to throw people in prison for burning the American flag isn’t good either.

 

So… I’ll vote for the side that doesn’t want to restrict the vocalization of my views.

Artistic Expression .. you mean the same expression that is gate-kept by the left?  By agents, directors and studio heads who demand liberal compliance, or at the very least, conservative silence in order to have any semblance of a career. 
 

What is academic freedom?  The ability to indoctrinate students with zero pushback?   I had to endure a lecture on how evil Mitt Romney is, should he defeat Obama, and further why we should vote for Obama, in…… macroeconomics.

You're equating our government pushing private companies to restrict free speech (the deplatforming outlets that ran with the Hunter Biden laptop story back in 2020, and the deplatforming of Dr. Bhattacharya for his views regarding covid in 2021 as prime examples)  with people asking the government to not sponsor artists like Maplethorpe?  Interesting take.  And one of a comparison of apples and kumquats.

 

And you know darn well that what 44 is calling for is for the government censoring views that challenge it.  A reimagining of the Disinformation Governence Board if you will.  The fact that you can't even admit that you know that's what he's calling for tells us one of 2 things about you.  So, have fun with it.
