I texted a principal friend. Their response: "Yes we are paid by the pupil. The district sets our budget based on average and expected class size. Each Educator is expected to teach a minimum number of student hours per year and the salary is commensurate. This is an internal metric. Teachers do not keep track of these hours and most do not understand how it works... yada yada... If class sizes drop, teacher salaries drop."

 

Yeah, but are they paying for water?  That’s what I wanna know.
