Reagan would tell the Soviets how nice Americans had it. Just look at how ordinary Americans had their own boats for weekend fun. I read this book on Cold War: https://www.amazon.com/Soul-Mankind-United-States-Soviet-ebook/dp/B005KJV3LQ In it he describes a really crazy scene (if I remember correctly) with Bush and his advisors just sitting there and asking Gorby, come on, just let the Germans hold elections. Finally, he just said yes, and that was it! The Wall soon after came down. German unification scared the Soviets, but they got it done.
