November Movies: Ford v Ferrari, Midway, Frozen 2, & Doctor Sleep

As Halloween passes by, the month of November and the big Holiday Season of movies arrives. As always there is something for everyone to enjoy. Big budgets and big names will dominate and Oscar races will intensify. Action, thrillers, drama, comedy and family films are all being offered with the biggest movie weekend of the year coming up.

 

20th Century Fox presents, and Matt Damon & Christian Bale star in "Ford v Ferrari". American car designer Carroll Shelby and driver Ken Miles battle corporate interference, the laws of physics and their own personal demons to build a revolutionary race car for Ford and challenge Ferrari at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1966.

 

Lionsgate presents, "Midway". The story of the Battle of Midway, told by the leaders and the sailors who fought it. Starring Ed Skrein, Patrick Wilson, Luke Evans, Aaron Eckhart, Nick Jonas, Mandy Moore, Denniz Quaid & Woody Harrelson.

 

Disney presents "Frozen 2". Anna, Elsa, Kristoff, Olaf and Sven leave Arendelle to travel to an ancient, autumn-bound forest of an enchanted land. They set out to find the origin of Elsa's powers in order to save their kingdom. Starring the voices of Kristen Bell, Jason Ritter, Evan Rachel Wood, Jonathan Groff, Josh Gad & Idina Menzel.

 

Ewan McGregor stars in, "Doctor Sleep". Years following the events of "The Shining," a now-adult Dan Torrance meets a young girl with similar powers as he tries to protect her from a cult known as The True Knot who prey on children with powers to remain immortal. Also starring Rebecca Ferguson, Kyliegh Curran & Cliff Curtis.

 

Tom Hanks stars in, "A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood". Based on the true story of a real-life friendship between Fred Rogers and journalist Tom Junod. Also starring Christine Lahti.

 

Ian McKellan & Helen Mirren star in, "The Good Liar". Career con artist Roy Courtnay can hardly believe his luck when he meets well-to-do widow Betty McLeish online. As Betty opens her home and life to him, Roy is surprised to find himself caring about her, turning what should be a cut-and-dry swindle into the most treacherous tightrope walk of his life.

 

Edward Norton stars in, "Motherless Brooklyn". Set against the backdrop of 1950s New York, Motherless Brooklyn follows Lionel Essrog, a lonely private detective afflicted with Tourette's Syndrome, as he ventures to solve the murder of his mentor and only friend, Frank Minna. Also starring Bruce Willis, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Alec Baldwin & Willem Dafoe.

 

In "Knives Out", A detective investigates the death of a patriarch of an eccentric, combative family. Starring Ana de Armas, Toni Collette, Jamie Lee Curtis, Chris Evans, Daniel Craig, Don Johnson, Katherine Langford, Michael Shannon, Frank Oz, M. Emmett Walsh & Christopher Plummer.

 

Chadwick Boseman stars in "21 Bridges". An embattled NYPD detective is thrust into a citywide manhunt for a pair of cop killers after uncovering a massive and unexpected conspiracy. Also starring J.K. Simmons, Sienna Miller & Taylor Kitsch.

 

In "Dark Waters", A corporate defense attorney takes on an environmental lawsuit against a chemical company that exposes a lengthy history of pollution. Starring Anne Hathaway, Tim Robbins, Bill Pullman, William Jackson Harper & Mark Ruffalo.

 

Linda Hamilton & Arnold Schwarzenegger star in "Terminator: Dark Fate". Sarah Connor and a hybrid cyborg human must protect a young girl from a newly modified liquid Terminator from the future. Also starring MacKenzie Davis, Natalia Reyes & Gabriel Luna.

 

In "Queen and Slim", A couple's first date takes an unexpected turn when a police officer pulls them over. Starring Chloe Sevigny, Daniel Kaluuya, Indya Moore & Benito Martinez.

 

In "Arctic Dogs", An Arctic fox works in the mailroom of a package delivery service, but wants to be doing the deliveries. Starring the voices of Jeremy Renner, Heidi Klum, James Franco & John Cleese.

 

In "Last Christmas", Kate is a young woman subscribed to bad decisions. Her last date with disaster? That of having accepted to work as Santa's elf for a department store. However, she meets Tom there. Her life takes a new turn. For Kate, it seems too good to be true. Starring Emilia Clarke, henry Golding, Michelle Yeoh & Emma Thompson.

 

"Harriet" is, The extraordinary tale of Harriet Tubman's escape from slavery and transformation into one of America's greatest heroes, whose courage, ingenuity, and tenacity freed hundreds of slaves and changed the course of history. Starring Cynthia Erivo, Leslie Odom Jr., Joe Alwyn & Clarke Peters.

 

In "Charlie's Angels", When a young systems engineer blows the whistle on a dangerous technology, Charlie's Angels are called into action, putting their lives on the line to protect us all. Starring Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott, Ella Balinska, Elizabeth Banks, Djimon Honsou & Patrick Stewart.

 

Finally, in "Playing With Fire", A crew of rugged firefighters meet their match when attempting to rescue three rambunctious kids. Starring John Cena, Keegan-Michael Key, John Leguizamo & Brianna Hildebrand.

Frozen 2  :death: Not in this, or any, lifetime.

 

Ford v Ferrari I would like to see! Probably as a rental though, unless the reviews (average customer) come in great.
