I had the same thought, and no they didn't.  They mentioned that you need to show ID, but then they showed the girl picking up her beers with just the QR code from her phone.

Hey! Who knew “Alcohol Ambassador” could be a career path? 

 

I’m sure he’s a very busy guy, and I’d worry that would bog down the process, but maybe I’m way off there.

If I were in charge, I wouldn't let alcohol be purchased through the lockers, just food, and bottled water/soda. You would be able to have a few more employees available then on the beer lines, instead of the food lines.
