SoTier Posted July 1, 2017 Share Posted July 1, 2017 When I saw the thread title, the first thing I thought of was the IGY, but then I thought, "naw, only STEM nerds like me would have even heard of the IGY" ... unless it just popped up on your phone because you have a calendar app ... which probably wouldn't exist if the IGY (and Sputnik) hadn't fired up increased interest in the sciences way back then.
