clumping platelets
I updated some info on my Jets cap spreadsheet. Saved info, but now the file will not open from my floppy. Sez it's a "read-only" file. Any way to open it? Any way to retrieve the info from the disk?
Nanker
First and only two things I can think of off hand... Try to copy the file to a hard drive - if you can. You can try to open the file with Word. Good luck. I know it's "only" the JESTS, but it's your data man.
UConn James
I'm not Bill Gates, but.... Try right-clicking on the file and go down to Properties. Where it says at the bottom, "Read-only" uncheck it. Then try to open it. Hope that works.
Mehser
Make the disk itself is not write-protected.

eSJayDee
Have you tried another PC? (I'm assuming you're using a 3.5" floppy on a Windoze PC.) For that matter, 'read-only' should allow you to open it (i.e. 'read'), but just not update it. If possible, I'd suggest opening it up on another PC possibly using a different OS (Linux, Mac, DOS) then emailing it to yourself.
