We all know the defense was far worse than expected, the offense considerably better. Rex Ryan has delivered completely predictable results in a very unexpected manner. The idea was that somehow he could have brought Rex Magic to Buffalo (I'm not sure what the origins of the notion that he has some kind of magic are) to make the team overperform expectations. Like all sorts of magical thinking, this was proven to be false. Rex Ryan didn't help things. He didn't hurt a whole lot either. This is an average team, like all average teams with certain areas of strength and certain glaring weaknesses. Another change in coaching staff won't bring magically better results either.
