machine gun kelly Posted July 12, 2014 Share Posted July 12, 2014 Considering Sherman can pretty much cover any receiver in today's game, I'm sure he'd do a pretty good job against AR if he were still playing today. 20 picks, 3 returned for TDs in 3 years...If he keeps up with those numbers he'll be in the HOF too someday. I respectfully disagree. Sherman would be challenged covering Megatron or AJ Green. Besides Reed played over the middle so much Sherman wouldn't get a crack at him. Sherman's strength is how physical he is at the line of scrimmage. If a burner can get past him, they can burn him. It doesn't happen often, but it does happen. Reed is right. I don't remember anyone shutting him down man to man. Deon early in his career and AR was later in his career. That's all. Reed was awesome and people could cover him, but almost never shut him down.
