Green Bay won 10 games this year

Green Bay, the chic pick to win the NFC and go to the Super Bowl, played a total of three games this year against teams with winning records. They lost all three - at Philadelphia, at Indy and home to Jacksonville.

Many columnists are taking shots at the Bills 2-6 record against winning teams. But when you're close to a .500 team, what do you expect? You' re going to beat most of the teams worse than you (less than .500) and lose most of the games against teams that are better than you (better than .500).

Say what you want about the wins against losing teams, but if you're going to start becoming one of the top teams, you have to start somewhere. Beating the teams you're supposed to beat is a good step in that direction. Now we just have to pull it together and start beating the ones that are better than us.

Well, GB did sweep an 8-8 Vikings team, so if they lost one of those games, the Vikes would've been 9-7 and GB would have a win against a "winning team". The more games you win, the worst your opponents win % is.

Having said that, GB stinks, and if the Bills were in the NFC, they would be a more popular SB pick than the Packers currently are.

If we traded QBs with them, we'd be a chic pick to win the AFC Championship.

The same point I have been trying to make for the last couple weeks. Every season, a team will likely play 6-9 games at most against teams with winning records. If you go .500 against them, and above .500 against the others, you will likely be a playoff contender....beating the crap teams, as the Bills did, is the quickest to turn your team around. The Bills made tremendous strides in that area. Despite all the gloom and doom on TSW, I feel pretty good about the way the Bills season ended, particularly the way it started...

BTW, the Jets were 3-6 agaoinst teams .500 or better!
