Asked in a weekend telephone interview for his reaction to Ryan's selection, Collins, the former Erie County executive, would not - even when asked again and again - endorse or even comment on Ryan's budget, which would partly remake Medicare into a voucher program for future seniors while drastically cutting most domestic spending.

 

 

Basically Ryan is a complete idiot with a wacko idea of basically eliminating the livable civilization we all live in, but hey, he looks nice and acts nice!

Bold choices are also risky choices, however, and Romney-Ryan's views on how the country should deal with its budget deficit may alienate many Americans, especially those in the middle class.

 

At a more detailed level, the Romney-Ryan plan will likely lead to the highest-income Americans paying less in taxes, while making lower- and middle-income Americans paying more (through elimination of tax deductions that disproportionately help these Americans). Earlier this year, the Tax Policy Center found that Romney's tax plan would reduce effective tax rates for the the richest Americans, and raise them for the poorest.

The Romney-Ryan plan will also likely cut Medicare benefits, which disproportionately help lower- and middle-class Americans. According to a Congressional Budget Office analysis of Ryan's proposal, the Medicare reform could lead to higher out-of-pocket healthcare costs for seniors, reduced access to care, reduced quality of care, increased efficiency, and less investment in higher-cost procedur

Oh, and I find it to be incredibly curious that you're expressing concern about what the bottom of the Republican ticket might do to Medicare (which is absurd anyway because vice presidents don't set policy) while the guy you're cheerleadering for just cut 700 billion from grandma's heart medication budget and lauded it as his greatest achievement.
