Captain Hindsight Posted May 9, 2012 Share Posted May 9, 2012 You had our curb you enthusiasm post but i was thinking about this the other day so I thought I'd illustrate the other perspective. We resigned Stevie Johnson despite his horrible judgement after making a big play in a game by flashing Happy New Year to everyone. We got Scott Chandler back for a reasonable deal Before FA started everyone wanted us to target Mario Williams. Most thought there was no chance of that happening and we were likely going after a one year wonder or a guy with potential. Metz Lives let us know that Mario was having Dinner in Buffalo the first night of FA and many wrote him. Little did we know that would lead to the greatest and quickest 200 page thread in TBD history, National media attention and jubilation on the board. Not long after we signed Mark Anderson who had 10 sacks a season ago for New England. Onto the draft. We identified our needs as a Corner, LT, and a deep threat receiver. Some wanted Glenn at 10, Some wanted Gilmore other wanted floyd. We got Gilmore at 10, and Glenn at 41 addressing our two biggest needs then leap frogged the mularkey led Jags to snag a track sprinter speed receiver in the 3rd. We addressed our depth at corner by taking an Underrated player from LSU and added depth at LB and Oline before rounding out the draft with a KO specialist. Optimism is booming here on TBD. The greatest thing about this offseason and the thing that I am enjoying reading so much. Our chiefs complaints about this offseason are: Who the hell is a 3RD ROUND PICK????? Thigpen Sucks Brady has bad hair If that is all we have to complain about what Buddy has done this offseason, then I'm ok with it. I wish I could be at every game this year. This team looks like a contender on paper and our losing culture seems to be changing. Something very different has been happening at OBD the past 3 years. Maddog69 Posted May 9, 2012 Share Posted May 9, 2012 AMEN, BROTHER. This has been a ridiculously good offseason for the Bills. I am more excited for the upcoming season than I have been in a decade. I love the team we have. We have a lot of great guys on the team that make them really easy to root for. The GM and front office are doing a great job. The coaching staff is solid. This isnt your typical Dog & Pony Show offseason of years and administrations past. Buddy and Doug are getting the job done from a FO perspective. And they are working on the "Thigpen sucks" complaint. Still in talks with VY. It's nice to have a FO that not only sees the same issues us fans see, but is also actively working to address them.
