Kudos to Nix and Whaley

Stay the course gentlemen! The media and many chicken little/ midol needing fans are going to whine and complain about free agency etal, screw em. Great teams are built though the DRAFT. Free agency is to add a player here or there when you are on the edge of making the playoffs or being a superbowl contender, not when you are rebuilding.

There are no huge impact guys that were worth the money and the mid tier guys so far brought in...well two of them decided to play somewhere else. This is honestly to be expected. We are rebuilding. WHEN we are starting to look like a contender THEN we will get free agents to play here. You know at one time FA's were easy to get to come to Buffalo like Spielman, Paup, Sam Adams etal. Once we build though the DRAFT and get close, it will be that way again.

Now the whiners will talk about cheap Ralph etc, while ignoring we have always spent to the cap or damn near it. They will whine and B word about us cutting salaries and being below the cap 'floor' of old while ignoring a perennial playoff contender in Carolina who has had a complete fire sale. They fail to recognize that high spending teams like Dallas haven't really signed anyone either. They don't' understand a lockout of 2011 is most likely coming and there is no reason to run up a ton of money on has been players. They also don't' understand that the owners are showing that they are done having huge salaries on their roster. But no....it is much easier to blame 'cheap Ralph'.

Build this team through the draft, re-sign and keep our own guys that we develop and lets do this thing right!

Can we at least ditch some absolutely worthless players like Kelsay/Parrish? What about signing at least one player with 3-4 experience? what about a NT or LT stop gap? Our team simply will not function without those two holes filled and the FO is relying on the draft for both? They brought in Green why not one or two more guys to hold down spots and help mentor our young guys? We havent made a single move to aquire more draft picks while the Browns are raking them in. I agree build through the draft but there is a more proactive way to do it. Nix and co have done nothing to date to make this team better moving forward. They are sitting on their laurels and assuming the seven picks we have in this draft is more than enough to fix this team.

We could move Parrish and Kelsay for as little as a 2020 7th round pick and it would make us better. Schobel is going to retire before coming back to the Bills so take anything you can get. Ellison might have some value, get a few water coolers for him. Then with the freed up money and roster spots we could maybe sign somone who fit the 3-4 defense. Maybe we could get a veteran leader whose value is not in the plays he makes but in how he makes the rest of the team better.

When we brought in Takeo the other 10 guys on defense instantly were better players because of how he took control and motivated them. Brian Dawkins did the same exact thing in Denver last season and you could see Philly missed him. We need someone to do that with our rookies. Larry Foote or Joey Porter would sign here resonably and would help this team rebuild - which is our goal - to rebuild. Veterans can help you rebuild too.

Who do you see in FA, at any position, that is on par with Warner, Romo or Brees? Signing FA's for the sake of signing someone is an absurd way to run a railroad. If the Bills suck this year, but then are very competitive for the next three, I'll be glad they didn't sign a lot of scrubeenies this offseason.

To say the team is going to suck two weeks into FA and before the draft is a little silly, IMO. I trust Nix's instincts on these things. If you want to use the argument that Pioli has built teams in the past, so has Nix. There isn't one way to build a team.

What team has Nix "built"?
