Ryan Pickett Expected to be Franchised

Perhaps a move to the 3-4 will need to be held off a year to have a chance to bring in the necessary talent. Maybin could still play OLB in a 4-3 (non tampa 2) much like Orakpo did this past year in Washington and a true nose tackle could be drafted but given a year to develop as a 4-3 nose behind Williams and Stroud.

If they're going to make a move, it'll be this year. That's not to say Buffalo won't show some 4-3 looks, but Edwards and Gailey seem committed to a 3-4. But in order to do this, they'll need a NT, another OLB, ILB depth, and DE depth. And that's assuming Schobel makes the transition to OLB.

Either way, the team once again goes into the offseason with more needs than resources to address them. I not convinced they'll make any noteworthy trades, unless it's a pick for someone like Pickett.

You think the Bills didn't already know that all the NT's coming up on the end of their contracts would be franchised, especially when it only costs $7M, before announcing they were going with a 3-4? Okay.

They don't have the players to go to the 3-4 and would have to use all of their draft resources to get them. Which is a poor idea since their offense has been inept in recent seasons.

No Big deal we knew this was going to happen. If we get Jason Ferguson for a year or two and draft a NT in the first 3 rounds we will be fine. The D needs a total overhaul and it will take a little time. However the thought of Ferguson next to Stroud sounds better than last year...now add Seymour or Jarvis Green and we might get a front seven.

They wouldn't need to use all their draft resources. Especially if they pick up a player or two in FA. What they really need is a NT and they need an OLB. They could use some depth too. But they really need to only grab two players. That won't take up all their draft picks. Like I said, they might pickup the OLB or the NT in FA.

Trades aren't that common but maybe the Bills have some 4-3 fodder that another team could use. And extra pick or two could help either in a trade or stockpiling through the draft.

It's asking a lot but I hope that the rookie DT the Bills picked up (Lonnie Harvey) can make some sort of contribution until they get some more bodies in.

We should have signed Williams to a 1 year 25million dollar contract.
