Injuries piling up for Washington
Geno Smith's Arm replied to FluffHead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Is that really the bottom line? Is that really the only way the Bills can beat the Redskins? I don't think so, I just think they need to score more points than the Redskins, a team that has a hard time scoring. I think the Bills defense can play as bad as they did against the Giants or Bengals, and the Bills can still win. -
Positional Needs for DraftTek

To me it seems like the Bills opponents have been using the pass to set up the run. The Bills seem to be fine if they are concentrating on stopping the run. They need to get more pressure on the QB first and foremost. It's obvious that is their biggest weakness. I don't think a nose tackle or ILB is a high priority. The offense is working pretty well, I would say that while it's nice to have a great line, I don't think it's at a stage where they need to spend their top picks on an O-lineman. Even the wideouts seem good if healthy (and I don't expect them to always have so many WR's out). A "special" WR might be nice, but a guy like that would likely be gone before the Bills pick. A Calvin Johnson type guy is unlikely to be available in the last third of the first round. I can't see how anyone makes up draft lists that go "4th priority-4th rd., 5th priority 5th rd., 6th priority 6th rd." etc. That's just silliness. Beyond the first couple rounds teams are just trying to get the best guys on the board. -
Using the Lambeau Blueprint to improve the Ralph
Geno Smith's Arm replied to Got_Wood's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't care if they do it or not, I won't go there for any museum, or nightlife, or restaurant etc., I just want them to win. But it's really weak to spend $100 Mill. to mimic another, more successful, franchise's stadium and market it as a unique, historical site. If you don't understand that, you're lame. -

Then don't post in this thread. -
Using the Lambeau Blueprint to improve the Ralph
Geno Smith's Arm replied to Got_Wood's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I won't bicker about whether or not they should do it, but why make the new additions a copy of the Lambeau additions? That would be lame! At least make it unique. Isn't that the point, that this is a unique franchise and game experience? Wouldn't you consider it lame if some other losing franchise copied the Bills stadium, in an attempt to cash in on some kind of historic or nostalgic angle? Or if say, the San Diego Padres renovated their stadium to approximate Yankee Stadium and promoted it as a San Diego/MLB baseball temple? -

My jaw would hit the floor if they chose a TE in the first round. And I wouldn't be very happy. -

I think they need a pass rushing linebacker first. Aside from that, if there isn't a top shelf guy to draft when they are on the clock, I think that the Bills are now good enough to draft strictly Best Player Available. They just drafted Aaron Williams, and I think people are being overly critical of the DB's. If a pass rushing linebacker isn't available, perhaps a quick DE ala Bruce Smith would be a good choice instead? It really depends on who is there when they draft. I could see them choosing a speed receiver too. I really hope a rush linebacker is on the board when they choose. I anticipate that the Bills will be a much more desirable place for Free Agents as well. I think that Ralph has shown that, if the team is on the verge on real contention, he will spend. -

They aren't gonna sign him, so who cares. -
Maybin has 0.5 less sacks than our entire team
Geno Smith's Arm replied to deep2evans's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Maybe he was making too much money? Maybe having a guy underperforming and making way too much money is bad for a lockeroom? Maybe I haven't listed enough great reasons to get rid of that bum? (But I think I have....) -

Maybe, but he couldn't possibly be as good as they were the week before either. Plus he wanted a lot of money after being overpaid his entire time here. Who cares about Donte Whitner at this point? -

Maybe there is more to playing outside linebacker than getting a few sacks? Maybe he is a complete liability when he is on the field in nearly any situation? Maybe some Bills "fans" are completely grasping for straws? And of course it will be because they cut Maybin! -
I wouldn't say that they haven't tried to improve the rush. They drafted Maybin (an obvious reach, trying to find a pass rush), and they signed Merriman. Could they have done more? I guess, but they also sucked against the run last year, so they really needed to draft Dareus. The Bills have jumped from 3rd from the bottom, to a top ten team. They can't fix EVERYTHING in one off-season. I'm sure this off-season a pass rusher will be priority one. Now that they have a bit of momentum, and aren't considered a joke by the rest of the NFL, they might be able to sign a decent free agent pass rusher (if they can't find one in the draft). So many people are pointing out the faults of this team like they have some special insight. The coaches KNOW. The fans KNOW. All these proclamations that "they can't keep doing this" or "they will never get anywhere if they". What, they won't win the Super Bowl? How about they win 10 games and lose the first playoff game, that's not enough improvement? That a "bad" season?

Seems to now be the Harbaugh / Schwartz thread

AND a history of being a dick. I know he is a good coach. Doesn't mean he can't be a dick. Belicheat is a great coach AND a total wanker. We weren't discussing coaching abilities were we? No. So it's not really a clever response. -
They didn't need turnovers today, they needed to NOT turn the ball over (at least the way this game played out). There is a difference.

Perspective in Numbers
Geno Smith's Arm replied to San Jose Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Bills are good enough to beat any team in the league. That is all I need to know (They haven't been that good in many years). I consider that the real measure of whether or not a franchise is performing at an acceptable level. -
I have no problem losing this way
Geno Smith's Arm replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think they will lose 1 or 2 at home, and win 3 or 4 on the road = 10-6. They will be a better road team later in the season. Being a young team, they are still gathering experience, and even in losses with guys out, the backups are getting better. -
I really don't think that the Bills defense has become "the joke of the NFL". That's a bit much when you are describing a 4-2 team that has given the Pats their only loss.

Seems to now be the Harbaugh / Schwartz thread

I don't know if there was really an extra hard handshake, or at least I don't think that was the reason Schwartz was pissed. I think Harbaugh was just being "coy" in the interview. -
Hate to say it Go Cowboys
Geno Smith's Arm replied to Hammered a Lot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If the Pats lose, it's just a loss. If the Cowboys lose, they will crumble. I would rather see one of my most hated teams crumble. Let the tears flow and the drama ensue! Jerry Jones is gonna freak! -

No, you're not. It just confirms what he is like. It's plain to hear, "I'm a Douche!". He is the next Belicheat. Wow, I never liked Matt Millen, but that's GREAT! What a photo too, like perfect angle and timing! If it wasn't an infamous event, that should be in Canton! -
The Bills will finish with a better record than the Giants.

I agree. It has been obvious for a long time that Harbaugh is a douche. He might end up the heir to Belicheat. He is that douchey. Because Harbaugh has a history of being a dick. That's why.
