  1. Nobody's watching anything in Albany for a while. The power is out to over 200,000 customers and there's no word when it will come back. I wouldn't be surprised if some of us don't get it back by game time on Sunday.

haha! i have power! but i live in the actual city of Albany. It must be a bummer to be up in CP- but I guess you have power, otherwise you couldn't be on computer... do you ever go where the Albany Bills backers meet up there?

  2. Just yoking! But officially it is a Jets game on television there.

Still, why the disrespect for New York's only NFL team in New Yorks State Capital city?

    <_<

I was in Albany two weeks ago. To the NFL fans there, the Buffalo Bills might as well be the Seattle Seahawks. Worse, no SU football/basketball fans in abundance in Albany, either. This I really don't understand!!

Good to be back in Syracuse, though!

I always see quite a few Bills fans out watching the games at the bars. This could be because they're never on tv here. But, anyway, I see way more Bills fans than any other team- even the Jets, Giants (maybe because people can watch those teams in the comfort of their homes).

  3. Sine the Bills last made the playoffs, only 3 teams have failed to recah the playoffs (1999-2008) - the Bills, the Detroit Lions, and the Houson Texans. Since the Texans haven't even been around for that entire time I don't really think they belong on that list. The Bills and the Lions - ever other teams has figured out a way to make it to the plaoffs at least one in the last 9 years - sickening. It's alwys "next year" when you're a Bills fan - that's why we are so despondant.....

Exactly. It is sickening. I mean the Bills and the f*cking Lions?! WTF? The f*cking Lions?! Gross. <_<

  4. The Houstan Texans have never been in the playoffs

The Carolina Panthers have only been three times

While all of us proclaim how much we love their D the Ravens have only appeared 4 times

Three teams have have six playoff appearances the Cardinals, the saints and the Jags among these keep in mind that through all of their iterations the cardinals have been in the league since 1930.

Are you kidding me? The Texans have only been a team since 2002 (only 7 seasons)

The Panthers have only been around since 1995 (14 seasons), so making the playoffs 3 times in 14 years (more than 21%) is not bad.

The Ravens have only been a team since 1996 (13 seasons). So they have made it to the playoffs about 31% of their seasons.

The Jags have been a team for 14 seasons also and have made the playoffs 6 of those years- a strong 42% of the time.

The Saints have made the ployoffs in 6 of there 42 seasons- roughly 14%.

The Cards do have it pretty rough though, they've been in the league since 1920 and have made it to playoffs only 7 times (including this year)- that's less than 9%!

The Bills have been in the NFL since 1970 (I think that's 39 seasons, I could be wrong though) and they have made it to the playoffs 13 times (about 33%). I'm not including AFL years, since for all the other examples we're talking about only NFL years.

While 33% doesn't seam bad, the important number is that all of the teams you cited have made (or in the case of the Cards will make) the playoffs this decade, with the exception of the Texans but the Bills playoff drought is longer than the entire history of the Texans franchise. Just saying we fans have good reason to be upset.

  5. I agree it was a dumb move. But I think their logic was as follows:

    1. Buffalo has had difficultly selling out the Miami several years running and it is not the rivalry it was (to some).

    2. The brass views NE as our new rival and the team to beat and wanted them in Orchard Park for the season finale.

    3. That leaves the J.E.T.S. game as the last of our division opponents. I think that the brass wanted to move a later scheduled game (which are harder to sell because of weather) to Toronto.

    4. All other teams are ones that we see in Orchard Park irregularly and they wanted those games to stay in Orchard Park.

How about the f*cking San Fran game? That would have been a better candidate. I think we can all agree on that. Don't get me wrong, I would still be pissed but at least it wouldn't be the Miami game.

  6. I don't like it but I understand why we did the Canada thing. Buffalo is broke. There is not much we can do to change that.

The Bills selling out to play the home Miami game was the dumbest thing in the history of the franchise (and Collinsworth may be right in the history of the NFL). And, in my opinion, a comment like yours is probably the dumbest thing that could be said in response. Hears what we do, how about keeping the Bills in WNY and bringing revenue for the local economy. Stupid. Stupid. Stupid.

  7. Yeah, every year we get our hopes up and go out and buy our season tickets because we picked up this or that player in FA or we drafted some kid who is supposed to be the next Thurman, Kelly, or Smith or we made this or that change in the coaching staff and we think "it could really be our year, all those rebuilding years are leading up to this point, etc." but it never gets any better, I don't feel like we truly have anything to look forward to this offseason. It's going to be another 10 years in the wilderness if Mr. Wilson continues to have his way.

  8. One of my friends from my old hometown football team (the Grenoble Centaures) will be at the game vs the Pats. He's about as crazy a Bills fan as I am and it will be his first game at the Ralph. He's gonna be there with a couple of friends from Montreal. Where should he go to have a few cold ones with some of you before the game? Is there a TBD zone or something?!!

I sit in my bathroom and chug pepto-bismol to get my stomach ready for the nausea I will no doubt experience come kickoff.

  9. A mother and father are getting a divorce and they are before the judge arguing over custody of the child (we'll call him little Johnny).

The mom and dad go at it for a while until the judge finally interrupts saying "this is getting no where. why don't we see what the child thinks?" so he asks little Johnny "do you want to live with your mother?"

Little Johnny says "NO! I can't live with her, she beats me!"

The judge is stunned, he says "oh, well I guess you want to live with your father than?"

Little Johnny answers "NO! I don't want to live with him, he beats me worse than my mother!"

The judge is confused and he asks "Well little Johnny, who do you want to live with then if both your mother and father beat you?"

Little Johnny answers "The Buffalo Bills, 'cause they can't beat anybody!"

    an oldy but goody
