  1. Walker may be a stop gap, but I think he is a pretty fine stop gap. I know Walker is very underrated by Bills fans, but I think he is consistently a better-than-average lineman, wherever he lines up. And, while he might not be the ideal LT I'm betting he mans the position better than Mike Gandy.

Walker isn't in Peters class as an LT, but he could end up being an LT on a better overall line than what the team had last year.

I agree. If Walker drops just a bit of weight he should be even better than last year and I'm just hoping that Butler can step in at RT. Combining that with a greatly improved interior, assuming Wood plays to his potential at LG and Levitre plays well at RG and I think we can all agree that basically anyone is better at C than Fowler or Preston, we should have a capable line next year. The O-line was one of my primary concerns going into the draft but I'm feeling ok about it now...

  2. Has Nelson as a steal: "Shawn Nelson/TE/Buffalo/4th round: Nelson was a legitimate second-round talent but his marginal blocking skills pushed him down draft boards. He's a vertical threat who will see action as a rookie."

and Byrd as a reach: "Jairus Byrd/CB/Buffalo/2nd Round: Byrd ran pedestrian times in the 4.6 range during his pro-day workout. He's a solid prospect , but there were at least a half dozen higher-rated cornerbacks available to the Bills when they selected him at the top of Round 2."

Also of note has Mack as a reach at 21 and Orakpo as a steal at 13...

  3. Because the team is very likely to keep 5 CBs, and the only way that a 6th or 7th round CB has a chance of making this team is to beat out a 4th round pick from last year whom the team likes and played reasonably well for a 4th round rookie?

    McGee is here for sure.

Leodis is a starter for sure.

Florence was paid 6-7 million for two years to be a nickel back and veteran insurance and is a virtual lock.

Youboty was playing as well as any CB we had last year before he got hurt and unless he gets hurt again he is a virtual lock.

Reggie Corner is the lone vulnerable spot on the roster.

I agree. I wouldn't call us stacked at DB either but it was not a need as much as say an OT or a DT.

  4. I like Roscoe as a punt returner for sure but I don't think he is really an offensive weapon at all in our scheme now that we have TO. I think the issue is not trying to replace him with a 5th round pick (because we don't really need to replace him) I think the issue is freeing up some salary room. I believe he is set to make a little more tha $3 million for each of his next three seasons in base salary (not sure about bonuses).

  5. You were right about trading Peters, but not about the reasons. The Hangartner deal (I think that's what you are referring to by "what's his name") has nothing to do with the Peters trade, as Hangartner is a C-G.

Nope. I was talking about Jonathan Scott, an OT and a true "what's his name?"... And I think I was right about the reasons. Those being that the Bills didn't want to pay him the $$ he demanded. I was just saying they signed Scott to add some depth to the position.

  6. I just want to say that I was right... I caught a lot of heat for saying I thought they would trade him back then

I'm thinking that the Bills signed what's his name to add some depth at OT as they get ready to move Peters. My thinking is that the Bills and Ralph "Mr Cheap" Wilson won't be willing to pay what he will demand after his contract is up.... I'm not so sure I would be too upset. He is good but he is going to want big $ and I'm not exactly sure he's worth it. If we could get a 1st round pick I'd be happy. thoughts?
