I know that Houston is all-in. they got DeMeco Ryan, the great young coach, they got the great young quarterback, Joe Mixon, they got Danielle Hunter, who had a tremendous season last year... Houston is in win-now mode. Stefon Diggs looks good on paper, but I actually think he'll end up being the problem and could throw a banana peel for the Houston Texans, who have made a lot of moves trying to win right now. He got 160 targets last year in Buffalo and the least amount of targets he ever got in four seasons in Buffalo was 154, so they fed him the ball. I’m not dismissing what CJ Stroud did as a rookie, but we've seen quarterbacks have great ‘years’. Josh Allen has had a great 3,4, 5-year run, but Diggs has got to be careful what he wishes for here. He may regret abandoning Josh Allen. Not the city of Buffalo and that cold weather, but Josh Allen. Josh Allen is a better quarterback than CJ Stroud and he's more proven than CJ Stroud. This could be one of those ‘Oh, the grass is greener! They got Joe Mixon! They got Danielle Hunter! DeMeco Ryans is a hot new coach! CJ Stroud is the best young quarterback in the league, and Sean McDermott and Josh Allen don’t know what they’re doing!’ The grass isn’t always greener. CJ Stroud could take a step back, and Josh Allen is NOT going to take a step back. Diggs put pressure on Josh Allen and he’s going to eventually do the same thing to CJ Stroud. Right now, it’s in the honeymoon phase, but these diva wide receivers, particularly with Black quarterbacks, they can get out of pocket in terms of how entitled they feel. Think about the way Terrell Owens treated Donovan McNabb. They’re putting a controversial, polarizing, and outspoken receiver paired with their hot young quarterback, and it could blow up in their face. I’m saying this in all seriousness and circling back to what I said in the beginning of this. The strip club culture in Houston is going to be a problem. I’m not even trying to be funny. Stefon Diggs, his brother Trevon, they like the social life, they like to get out there and party, and have a good time. They like ‘304s’ and there’s a lot of 304’s in Houston. There are some women in Houston celebrating right now ‘HEY, WE FOUND SOMEONE TO REPLACE JAMES HARDEN HERE IN HOUSTON! I called it a year ago. The guy wanted out of Buffalo, he wanted to be in a city where he could party, and he just moved to Houston.”

Are you kidding? The National Media had been creating story after story for 2 years, especially coming from Mike Florio and PFT who wrote every time Diggs tweeted something weird and said "Whoa! There is another tweet from Diggs wanting out".

Until you run the ball right at him like the Bills did and then he is exposed.

I'd rather target a player in his prime still on a rookie contract or with a reasonable 2nd contract that is outperforming it and their current team doesn't want to pay him.

Never a bad idea to take a flyer on a QB later in the draft, especially if you don't think you are going to have enough spots for picks on the regular roster.

Beane already said none of those trades are ever "lined up" until the other team gets on the clock and sees who is available to them.

It's never happening...a move into the teens for Brian Thomas Jr I could see...a move to 7? That's nonsense.

#1 WR in yards/target with 50+ targets? Brandon Aiyuk. #1 WR in yards/target with 40+ targets? Khalil Shakir. His rookie season he led the NFL in being open against man coverage. I think Shakir is going to have a huge season as well... Over the last 10 games he had 535 yards receiving. If all he did was have that pace for 17 games, he would have over 900 yards...IMHO, I think he can be a 1000 yard receiver next year.

At this point it is...but we don't know what other moves Beane has up his sleeve or who we get in the draft so we can't say that isn't possible either. Have to wait and see. As of right now definitely not. But this isn't the roster that will take the field in September either.

I think a key point to remember is the Bills will be clearing over $10 million post June 1st once White's cap number hits and I would suspect Beane will actively be looking to use that cap space to add to the WR room, especially via trade. Would not be surprised to see Aiyuk a target. They could replace Diggs contract with a new one for him and be better off long term and possibly immediately as well. Interesting note... The #1 WR in yards/target in the NFL last year for any WR with more than 50 targets? Brandon Aiyuk...on 106 targets. The #1 WR in yards/target in the NFL last year for any WR with more than 40 targets? Khalil Shakir. Aiyuk was 2nd. Don't discount a massive jump this season from Shakir to a potential 1,000 yard WR. His rookie season he led the NFL in yards/separation per route run against man coverage. I think he is in line to become a major factor in this offense.

That chart is old and doesn't properly value picks...many teams have moved on to ones using analytics that actually show how valuable those picks actually HAVE BEEN historically rather than using random numbers assigned to them 40 years ago that seemingly were made up out of thin air, which is why many trades don't seem all that aligned to that chart anymore.

There are probably 8 or 9 WRs this year that would be ahead of many WRs in the first half of the first round many years. It's a very deep, very good class. I'd take WR at 1 and 2.

There is no cap hit next year, it's all this year.

So let me get this straight... We got a 2nd round pick(the Vikings) and traded Diggs, a 4th rounder this year and a 5th rounder next year? AND just took a $31 million cap hit this year too? Are you fvcking kidding me?? Where is the money coming from to do this? Now we are like $25 million over the cap again.

Jason Peters was too...he turned out pretty OK... I think a team would be interested enough to offer a pretty big signing bonus for a PS player...they count against the cap but there is no limit to what you can offer them. Some of those players get good sized bonuses.

Wouldn't be the first College Basketball star to transition to the NFL... Usually they end up at TE tho like Antonio Gates or Jimmy Graham or Tony Gonzalez...not sure I've ever heard of one becoming a left tackle before... 6'9" 275 lbs currently and his body is huge and could easily support 320+ lbs with likely little loss of mobility... They aren't interested in doing anything that will hurt the offense especially with the murkiness of how the play clock is restarted. Almost every rule change that has occurred over the past decade or more has been to add offense, why would they do something that works against that?

Clearly you do because you are arguing something that the NFL doesn't believe can be fixed properly or want to fix it. Based on what was said by the former official they did in depth reviews of the process multiple times over the years and decided to leave it be.

I don't think it is practical honestly. Sounds good in theory but won't work well in practice. The NFL has looked at this several times from what the former official said and they left it unchanged every time because of that. Game clock not play clock.
