scouting report: Brohm is a coach's dream. He could've been the #1 pick last season before electing to return to college, so he's definitely pro-ready. What he's gained from being in a family of quarterbacks and by learning more under Bobby Petrino, Brohm has developed into the top quarterback prospect in the 2008 class. Some think he is a product of a pass-happy offense, but check him out on tape and you'll eat those words quickly. Brohm has all of the tools to be a franchise quarterback. He has the size and the big arm to go with it. More importantly, he knows how to use it. Whether it is to throw a bullet over the middle, a fade route to the corner, or the home run ball. He won't scramble for twenty yards, but he can move well enough and can get you a rushing touchdown or two. On top of his physical skills are his football knowledge and his headiness, so he makes few mistakes and he's willing to learn and get better. There is one knock on him. Durability may be a concern, as he had injury problems in 2005 and 2006, though he has rebounded from his injuries well. Overall, despite the potential injury concerns, Brohm's makeup makes him a can't miss prospect, because whoever drafts him won't have him on the pine for long.

I would do it, but then we would need to draft a scatback and pickup a FA RB as well. RB's are a dime a dozen as opposed to a top end OLB

per rotoworld: According to beat writer Kevin Acee, restricted free agent Shawne Merriman could be had "for the right price" this offseason. Per Acee, it's a price only GM A.J. Smith knows at this point. The Chargers have been reluctant to lock up Merriman ever since his torn LCL and PCL two summers ago. Smith drafted Merriman's replacement in Larry English last April, so he'll be open to draft-weekend offers from interested teams.

I don't think it was that football isn;t too important. I think it was the fact that his best friend bled out and died in his arms that changed his life for the worst

If he really would play forthe veteran minimum, or close to it, I would have no problem at all giving him a shot. We need a veteran WR, and if he truly is healthy, he'd be a worthwhile gamble per rotoworld: Free agent Javon Walker says he would be willing to sign a contract for the NFL minimum for another chance. "The thing about football right now is it’s not really about the money," said Walker, who collected over $14 million from the Raiders in exchange for 15 catches in two years. Walker also reiterated that he's healthy. "I’m 100 percent...finally, since I left Denver," said the 31-year-old. "People are going to say ‘Wow, that’s the Javon we remember.’ I returned 110 percent."

Wood is confident he'll be ready by TC
BeastMode54 replied to In-A-Gadda-Levitre's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'll be honest, I hope he comes back, but we can't expect too much. I have a friend who is a doctor and he saud he's be astounded if he plays early this year or at all. I'm not saying it can't happen, but after watching that video again it seems unlikely he'll be back soon. I hope he is, and I hope he plays well. I just wouldn't get our hopes up until it happens for sure -

McNabb to the Bills for Picks?
BeastMode54 replied to CountDorkula's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
per rotoworld. McNabb oks deal to Rams, but would NOT play for Buffalo. Has it gotten that bad? The Philadelphia Daily News reports the Eagles, indeed, have an offer on the table that would send Donovan McNabb to the Rams in exchange for the No. 33 overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft. According to Eagles beat writer Jeff McLane, McNabb "could be in a Rams uniform by the end of the day, possibly by the end of the week." An NFL source says the deal is "not yet completed," but McNabb has OK'd the trade if St. Louis extends his contract. He is not willing to play in Buffalo or Oakland -
I've been reading all these McNabb to the Rams rumors, and one of the biggest reasons they want him is that due to the ownership situation in St. Louis, they won't be able to pay for the #1 pick. Stafford's deal was over $40 mil. IF McNabb goes and signs an extension, which he would want, his contract would be less, and possibly much less, than Bradfords deal at #1. McNabb, a perenial pro Bowler and top talent in the NFL, busts his ass for years in the NFL and some snot nosed rookie can just come in with no NFL experience and get one of the highest contracts of all time. I just don't get it

McNabb to the Bills for Picks?

http://www.philly.com/philly/blogs/inq-eag..._the_table.html here it says its not confirmed but an offer has been made. IF this goes through, how does it affect the draft? You know the Lions won't take Bradford, the Bucs have both Freeman and Johnson, the Redskins would, obviously. Does that put Claussen in play for us? (Not that I want him actually). -
That make it even worse. If he can't throw a decent deep ball and lacks arm strength with no pressure, no defense, and no pads, I say NO to drafting him
-
Opinions of Central Michigan QB Dan LeFevour's passing were reportedly "mixed" after he threw for evaluators at his Pro Day. LeFevour didn't throw to moving targets in Indianapolis, so he needed a big day to motivate his draft stock. However, LeFevour "struggled throwing the ball downfield," which isn't surprising considering his lack of ideal arm strength. Receivers had to slow down their routes frequently to haul in his throws, with some "out-running LeFevour's deep passes altogether."

how were they blasting the Bills? Cuz we would be getting their QB? -
Why are we drafting a running back??????!!!!
BeastMode54 replied to grammer_police's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There is no way we go RB with the first pick, or second, and possibly even third. What Gailey wants is a scatback a la Darren Sproles. He mentions 5'9" players that he says are "as fast as a waterbug". Someone to change the pace of the game. REEEEEEELAAAAX.... -
New update on Wood and other info
BeastMode54 replied to BeastMode54's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Quick question for everyone on the board as well regarding Wood. Rather than start a new thread, I was wondering, IF Wood is in fact ready to start the season, how much does the time off affect muscle loss and the ability to generate power in the lower body. I'm sure he has been doing lots of exercises for upper body, but not for legs. Will this hurt him a great deal? -
http://espn.go.com/blog/afceast/post/_/id/...-lynch-and-wood The first two points are things we already knew, but Nix says Wood is ahead of schedule and thy expect him to be ready for the start of the season. He says they aren't positive, however, he is ahead of schedule and working hard. Good to hear

per rotoworld Eagles released OL Shawn Andrews. Andrews, a first-team All Pro in 2006 and a Pro Bowler as recently as 2007, has missed all but two games over the last two seasons due to multiple back operations and depression. He's only 27 years old and was due a modest $2 million salary, but the Eagles clearly grew tired of Andrews' mental and physical problems. He'll get another chance elsewhere, assuming he wants to. It's believed Andrews may no longer be interested in football.
-
HAHAHA, yea, he's that one
-
He is VERY injury prone, but to come in and compete on an incentive laden contract might not be a bad idea
-
clocked at pro day at 5.02 and 5.08 which they are saying might hurt his stock to late second round or even third. If we could get a LT first, then a NT in the second and him by trading back into the second or even in the third, the draft would be a HUGE success
-
I would love to see a OT taken early in the draft, but now having a front line including Kyle williams, Stroud, Johnson, and Edwards, and LB's of Mitchell, Davis, Schobel, Maybin, Kelsay, Poz, we still need that NT to plug the middle. If we could get Dan Williams in the 1st, or cody or Cam thomas in the 2nd, I think out defense would be MUCH improved. I actually am beginning to think the new FO actually knows what they are doing

More than likely it's a meet and greet. It's states that Davis will meet the media, not the Bills. If there had been a signing they would have announced that the Bills have a Press Conference, not just Davis meeting with the media. He'll tell us he had a great visit, respects the coaching staff, and we have a class organization. He'll tell us he has a few more teams lined up before making a decision, and then he will leave to sign with another team in a few days. I'm hoping this doesn't happen, but seems likely
