  1. By Tim Graham On Monday, Buffalo Bills players shared with the Press Coverage blog an introductory text new head coach Doug Marrone sent to them. The Bills also sent a note from Marrone to season-ticket holders. Here is what he said: Today, I'm experiencing a dream come true. The opportunity to be a head coach in the NFL and to be part of an outstanding organization like the Buffalo Bills is certainly an honor. I'm looking forward to working with the people in this organization, but I am especially excited to work with the players. I was a player in the NFL, and I was a coach in the league for seven years. I know the importance of building trust, and my first order of business is to begin building that trust with this team. Obviously, there is a lot of work to be done. As I begin to assemble my coaching staff, I will be looking for hard-working, experienced coaches that are excited to be part of the Buffalo Bills tradition. As a coach, I certainly understand the importance of team, and for me that extends beyond the players, staff and coaches. When you have a fan base that is passionate about their team, they provide a unique energy that everyone can feel. Having had the opportunity to coach just down the Thruway at Syracuse, I know the support that exists for the Buffalo Bills. That passion is part of the reason I was so excited to take this opportunity. One of the things Russ Brandon and I discussed during my interview was the passion and loyalty of Bills season-ticket holders. We want to make you proud to be a fan of the Buffalo Bills again and we will work tirelessly until that job is complete. This season, I look forward to experiencing the great atmosphere you provide at Ralph Wilson Stadium and I can't wait to celebrate a championship together soon. Go Bills!
  2. Buffalo Bills head coach Doug Marrone texted an introductory note to his new players today. A few of them passed it along to the Press Coverage blog to share with readers. My first day on the job at One Bills Drive was certainly exciting and proved to be a very busy one as well. I apologize for not getting this out to you sooner. In the early part of this week I will be fully engaged in putting together our coaching staff, but I want to let you know that I am planning to be in the office later this week. So please stop by and say hello if you have the opportunity. If not, I look forward to hearing from you down the road when we have the staff in place. I'm looking forward to gaining your trust and working hard to achieve our goals. Coach Marrone http://blogs.buffalo...ls-players.html
  3. RT @JamesWalkerESPN: Mike Pettine also would probably call plays working for an offensive head coach. And the #Bills are much less of a zoo.

  6. Rome sucks and annoying. Lets get those emails through. I sent mine
  7. I listen to sports radio all day and can't stand listen to Rome from 12-3 and sal is doing a damn good job on WGR right now. We need to stay local!! I work in a warehouse and have the app on all day on my phone
  8. I think WGR needs to get Sal Capaccio on from 12-3 mon-fri. He is great and we need to take Rome off the air. I got this info from Sal and if you guys can, please email these people and lets get this going! 9. Upon arriving at Syracuse, Marrone was committed to eradicating a losing attitude. A couple dozen players wound up leaving the program over the next two seasons. “He came in with rules, and the people who didn’t want to follow the rules are gone, and those who did want to follow stayed,” linebacker Derrell Smith told reporters in 2010. Early in Marrone’s first season, he gathered the players in the locker room one morning and had them clean the room so they could take more pride in where they spent their day. He required players to dress in a suit and tie instead of sweat suits on game days. He required they sing the Syracuse alma mater before leaving the field after a game. If players were late to class, he would post photos on TV monitors in the weight room. http://www.buffalonews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20130106/SPORTS/130109504/1003
  10. Video: How the Buffalo Bills and Doug Marrone got hitchedhttp://bit.ly/ZuYiZ6
  11. Hope everyone is happy about the Bills getting Marrone. Everyone else wanted him as a Plan B, and now we took him and everyone else has to hire retreads.
  12. If Kelly stay in the big O, then what does everyone think of this signing? Feel any better about it?
  13. Chris Mortensen ‏@mortreport Doug Marrone's deal with the Buffalo Bills, as @AdamSchefterreported this morning, is for four years.
  14. Jason La Canfora ‏@JasonLaCanfora Hearing from more sources that Chip Kelly is in fact staying at Oregon. Still nothing official from him or the school however. So we'll see
  15. Hopefully to GR because if their aren't other options to listen to this station, then it's pretty pointless.
  16. @MaryKayCabot: Browns walk away from Chip Kelly because they weren't sure his heart was 100-percent ready to jump to the NFL http://t.co/s91ddkiI
  17. FAIL!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now I can't listen to any local radio from 12-3! Great!
  18. Nix will continue to do what he plans. Upgrade those 3 positions he talked about on GR. get a big WR and move stevie to the slot.
  19. @JeffRussoWKBW: Team source #Bills still working on parameters of deal with Doug Marrone at this hour.
  20. @JoeBuscaglia: League source tells me #Bills are going to approach the defensive coordinator position very aggressively.
