  1. Gott a agree that we are in trouble with our LBs. Problem is, he need to draft or sign a FA defensive end as well. In first round, it is either DE or OLB depending on which of these positions we address in free agency.

Poz regularly reacts too quickly and gets blocked out of plays. Ellison is virtually useless and Mitchell is inconsistent, but at least sometimes makes big plays.

  2. if your comparing Ellis to kelsey @ this time your insane. in regards to ellis talk to me in 2 years if he makes it at all. coming out in the draft all the talk was about his heart and passion about the game so quit going there with this guy like he is going to be some great player.

I'd rather have a player of lesser talent but with extreme passion and heart then a super talented guy who does not care anyone remember mike williams?

by the way the bills will not be cutting kelsey, they may cut denny if they find a young talented DE either in the draft or free agency.

I watched Kelsay carefully last week against Cleveland. He made No plays, whiffed on some and was suckered into several endarounds (reverses). He is a mindless, untalented unplayer and we need his cap money to get a real DE.

Cut him whether Ellis is any good or not. Denny, on the other hand, at least has the eight to knock down passes and is a better RDE because he can tackle and is smarter than no-mind, no-body KElsay.

  3. Think he is still a good young qb whose successes have been counter-attacked by good defensive coaches. As Jaws said on MNF, "they know he's a good outside passer, so they double-cover outside and force him to throw to the middle." Then Trent says the Bills practise all week for a completely different defense. There was nowhere to go except his outlets and occasionally Johnson or Royal down the middle. Why didn't Schonert have Evans running some in-patterns?

Edwards definitely looked like a kid out there, but coaching didn't help matters. We don't have the Cronell, Parcell, Belichick minds running this team.

  4. One positive that from last night is more Bills fans are beginning to realize how weak Buffalo is at DE. Schobel and Denney are both over 30, and Kelsay is useless.

It's amazing that DJ invested a third rounder on a guy who isn't even good enough to dress. That alone is an indictment of how poor the personnel department has been.

If Buffalo drafts in the middle of the first it won't be impossible, but finding quality pass rushers there may be difficult. I have a feeling they'll be going defense in the first, despite a middle of the OL which is pathetic.

Who are the most promising DEs in the college ranks right now, o you or anyone else know?

  5. And Chris Ellis still isn't on the field. Not once did I see Kelsay do anything. Being at the game, it's amazing how a player on the DL can do nothing.

billsvet, i so agree. Watched Kelsay all night and was amazed at how often - like ALWAYS - he is out of the play. He would get fooled by reverses, get blocked in on outside runs, get smothered when trying to rush Quinn, and forget about that ridiculous scheme of having him cover Harrison on a pass play. The guy is not NFL-calibre and if he is really a "Christian",

he should return his big money and just retire.

I can't believe Chris Ellis is so weak that he couldn't do a better job than the worst DE in the league.

Anyway, cut Kelsay and save some cap money...he's USELESS!

  6. I'd like to hear from some of you guys on you're favorite and not-so-favorite T.V. commentators of the NFL, just to get YOUR minds off of Sunday a little bit. Just a note, Dick Enberg and Randy Cross are doing the game this Sunday, two of my LEAST favorite.

Favorites-1. Joe Buck (Maybe the best EVER, IMO)

    2. Al Michaels (Legendary, hope he never goes away)

    3. Gus Johnson (Gets right into the game, maybe a little too much, but is exciting to listen to)

    4. Greg Gumbel (Never really sounds like he's pulling for one team or another, much better than in studio)

    5. Kevin Harlan (adds spunk to pretty much every play)

Worst- 1. Dick Enberg (he's a homer, period. I dont think I've ever heard him shout "OH MY" for the visiting team--uh oh)

    2. Mike Tarico (This guy is doing MNF??? Hes' horrible, period.. And his cohorts don't do him any favors.)

    3. John Madden (Madden used to be fun to listen to, now he's just a Dallas D*Ck Rider)

    4. Dan Dierdork..I mean Dierdorf- he pretty much makes nothing sound terrible.

    5. Tony Siragusa (only reason he's on the field covering games is because they couldn't fit him in the booth)

agree with your "worst", but add Thiesman, Cornholer, Tasker

  7. Our front 4 is not getting in there. If Farve is on, it won't matter if there is double coverage on every receiver; he can get the ball there. What is the point of Whitner standing 40 yards down the field? Yesterday, the corners were giving up 12 - 15 yard outs, and Whitner was behind them.

The Jets OL is just OK, and Favre is old. If Whitner is as good as many believe, it is time to get him in the game and maybe he can take it to a higher level. He needs to make more plays, and this would seem like a way to get our #8 draft selection in a position to help us win.

    Just thinking out loud. :P

I'd applaud this move, partly because he is too slow to cover, so might as well try to blitz. SOMEBODY better be blitzing Farve. That idiot Fewell has cost us two games by playing soft coverages.

  8. Our offensive line is a problem no doubt. I still think our left side of the line is very strong.

I agree, a pass rusher would be nice.

Our return game I'm not too worried about. McKelvin is just starting to get used to it and I think he'll be alright.

If we do make it to the playoffs and that would be awesome if we do, it would be a huge help if we managed to win the division so we could get a home game.

We have been badly outcoached in two games. That's why we are 5-2. When we get good game plans, we win.

Defense was way too laid back against both Cards and Dolphins.

Coaching is our weakness, plus Robert Royal pain in the ass.

  9. If things get drastic, they could aways try the multi-talented Donte Whitner at LB (in a pinch or to replace the untalented Keith Ellison) and install Scott at SS, with either Ko or George at FS. I'm tired of watching Ellison and seeing him being blocked or otherwise out of the play.

  10. We are pretty good in our depth right now. It is starters that we need to upgrade.

We need upgrades at TE, C, RG, OLB. Since you can't find all four in a draft, you have to sign a FA at one or more of these positions. Maybe Gonzalez will be willing to come here next year; if not, we need some kind of big FA signing, so we can then concentrate on drafting the others positions in rounds one to three.

In addition, of course, we also need that FA QB you talk about.
