  1. I would also like for the Sabres to knock the Hurricanes out of the playoffs. However, Carolina may not even make the playoffs. The race for the eighth spot in the Eastern Conference is intense and will be fun to watch. Before the game, there were five teams from spots seven to eleven with a range of 78 - 76 points. Carolina is now in seventh place with 80. This is not the same Carolina team as last year as they lost a lot of players. I am glad that the Hurricanes beat Jersey and ran Brodeur in the process. I am also relieved that the Sabres aren't sweating for the eighth spot!

I am still concerned about the Sabres offensive output. Conklin (great debut start) and Miller have saved the day in each of the last two games in which the Sabres have been outshot 45 - 20 and 37 -20. Every game is important with tough games with Atlanta and Washington coming up. I would label the game against Jersey as a "must win" since beating them would not only provide more distance in the standings but boost confidence in regards to specifically beating the Devils. The games against the Leafs should be taken seriuosly. Enough of this playing down to the opponent nonsense.

well lets hope they do make it. I told my brother what i said on the board, and he said that funny because every body in buffalo is saying that they want carolina in the 8th seed so we can beat the crap out of them.
  2. and you can take charlie ward off the list because he never played in the nfl, he played in the nba so 2 of 17. but I think there will be a new tail for hiesman trophy winners, lienhart is going to be a good qb in the league surrounded with talent around him. Reggie Bush is going to be a good running back, jason white hasn't even played since he's been drafted.

  3. True, but Desmond Howard was hardly good. He had some good seasons, and some good games, and he is one of the top guys on this list, but I cant really call him a good pro. If you include howard, you have to include whickkkky...

But I think the point remains, the prognosis for heisman winners in the NFL is NOT good.

what are you talking about, desmond howard was the super bowl mvp! thats just as better than being the league mvp. and he holds the longest kick off return in super bowl history.
  4. 12.

    Bills

    Adrian Peterson

    RB

    Oklahoma

    Junior

    3rd

    (-9)

    3rd / 12th

Whoa. Talk about a dream come true. Will Peterson slip to 12? I highly doubt it. But, if Cleveland goes with Quinn, there doesn't seem to be another team in the top 11 slots that would be targeting a running back. Sure, the Bills need help at other positions. And yes, they did just re-sign Anthony Thomas. But none of that matters. If Peterson's somehow available at 12, Marv Levy and co. will scoop him up before Buffalo's pick even goes on the clock.

I like peterson, but at the same time he was injured for most of last season, but its not like tom donowhore taking a risk at a guy who almost got his leg torn off.

  5. Who is to say how good Nate or London will play in 07? They are both a year older, and have signed fat contracts. We will see how motivated they are next year. Many people posting on this board assume they will be better than there replacements, not me. I also think it is a safe bet the Bills will have better production at runningback & QB behind a vastly improved O-line.
The way ive always seen it money doesn't play for you, you have to play for the money. Nate Clements is overpaid says he's the best in the league but i think theres better corners than him that should be making that kind of money but probably don't want to. London Fletcher on the other hand deserves that kind of money, he's been a hard working underrated, and under appreciated line backer if theres anybody in this league should be making a lot of money it should be london. We have improved our line this year in the line and Im happy and I think we will be fine no matter what people think if they think were doomed, and we win games there going to be feeling disgusted.
  6. Haven't we always had a great line of Defensive End's though, Ive never been worried about what we've always had at DE or any position on Defense our Defense has been pretty solid for years. Offense is our only problem, we've never had a good offensive line even when jim kelly was playing, we havent had a solid Tight End Since Riemersma, and we don't have a long tendered running back since thurman. WR has always been solid. I think JP Losman is going to be our guy for years though, I think he will accomplish what Jim Kelly never did and win a championship for us.

  7. Gino Teretta. For a while there, the hiesman was a curse in the NFL draft.

I stand corrected....Teretta was apparently drafted in the 7th round.

    Some Heisman Busts:

    1989 - Andre Ware

    1990 - Ty Detmer

    1991 - Desmond Howard

    1992 - Geno Teretta

    1993 - Charlie Ward

    1994 - Rashaan Salaam

    1996 - Danny Werfuel

    1999 - Ron Dayne

    2000 - Chris Winkie

    2001 - Eric Crouch

    2003 - Jason White

If past history is anything...its not looking good for Troy Smith. I knew this list was going to be bad, but not THIS bad. In fact, since 1989, the only heisman winners who have hit it big are Eddie George, Ricky Williams (kinda), Charles Woodson and Carson Palmer. Jury is still out on Linert/Bush.

    Thats FOUR of SEVENTEEN...

Just for your information Desmond Howard won a super bowl in 1996 with the Green Bay Packers so thats 5 of 17, Ricky Williams hasn't really quite proved him self yet, Charles Woodson is an injury prone CB so actually 3 of 17.
  8. 6. People down grade WRs but Calvin Johnson is the most complete WR I can ever remember and you'd have to admit Evans, Parrish, Johnson would have to be one of the scariest set of receivers for a defensive coordinator to game plan for.

Calvin Johnson would definately be a nice pick, but you don't want another wide reciever controversy if we do get him between him and lee evans, lee evans should remain as our number 1 guys for many years.
  9. yeah that was a nice article and nice that the hurricanes destroyed the devils 7-2 I didn't watch it but just saw the score on the article. Go Sabres. I think regarding to the article we are going to win the stanley cup this year, once my boy Afinogenov gets back its over we need his speed, and once kotalik gets back another good goal scorer were winning it this, I sure hope I wont be damned for saying it but if i am we had one hell of a season, starting off 10-0 baby thats the one thing i will always remember about this season.

  10. well its not always determined in the season on how we do in free agency, I mean last season the colts only picked up adam viniteri and won the super bowl, but had a great draft. So don't count us out just because we lost london fletcher and nate clements, i hate that every body is counting us out of having a good season because we lost those 2 guys, back to the colts again every one thought they were doomed after they lost edgerin james and had a good year on the ground.

  11. Gino Teretta. For a while there, the hiesman was a curse in the NFL draft. Ill pull some numbers on heisman winners here in a few minutes
thats true but don't forget reggie bush won the hiesman trophy in 2005 and had a great year in 2006 in the nfl. and i think is going to have a monster career as long as he leaps into the endzone from 5 yards out he has nothing to worry about.
  12. :lol:;):oops::lol::w00t: :w00t: :w00t:

I hear the Olive Garden is one of the best Italian Restaurants in the country and rumor has it, you can get some fine pizza at Pizza Hut.

    WTF?

BlueFire, compared to the Niagara Gazette, the Buffalo Snooz is a FINE publication.

congradulations to "The Dean" for being the biggest dick on the board!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
