  1. Who is our short yardage back? It looks like it was EJ recently -- that's just pitiful. It's obvious that McCoy is not an effective short yardage runner. - he loses yards more than he gains in these situations. In years past we had fFed Jackson who seemed to get that yard more times than not and last year it was Karlos "i blew my career" Williams. Who this year? Obviously this is not the only problem the Bills have, but when trying to sustain a drive on 3rd & 1 or 2, it would be nice to have someone you can count on.

  2. I've seen Bills Games, a UB Bulls game, and countless Bison games. Lots of good memories because I did all these with my dad who is no longer with me, but I guess the best was getting some Bison autographs in 1964. They had a good team -- Cleon Jones, Choo Choo Coleman, Ron Swoboda, Ed Kranepool, ...

One stands out. I was eight, Pats at Bills in 1970. Dennis Shaw is garbage entire first half. It is freezing rain, seats are soaked and we are all wearing garbage bags under our clothes. Raw, disgusting day. James Harris comes off the bench and rallies the team. Long pass to Willie Grate I remember. I read Willie died in 1980 at age 35, what a shame - I wonder how.

Anyway, now it is late in the game, they are down at the goal line looking to pull out a win. Bills take a time out. Inexplicably they pull Harris and put Shaw back in. I could not believe it, my Dad couldn't either. It was like they wanted to give Shaw the chance to be the hero. We lose 14-10. Oh what we had in Shack Harris and Marlin Briscoe. If they had developed Shack instead of treating him like garbage we could have avoided some really bad years before Fergie got here. What he did in Los Angeles a couple years later was historic. What an arm, smart guy, hard worker. Just retired as pro personnel guy for the Lions.

Early memories of 50 years+ of Bills love and frustration.

Another stands out as well. First game, Raiders at Bills in 1967. I was five. Dad and I knew the glory years were past, you could feel it. But team was not yet horrible. I never saw grass so green, stadium seemed huge and oozed character. Bills lost in a tight one on a gorgeous day. Felt like Buffalo had a real "in City" community in those days. Shame it was lost. Maybe we can get it back now.

I remember this game. The coaches said that they wanted to get a play in and it was easier to send in the QB with the play. That's horse hockey.

  3. At least the Bills did not do a RG3 deal .

Goff and Wentz is wait and see.

Sammy at least was worth his price so far IMO

The difference with the Sammy deal is that this particular draft class had a large number of high quality wideouts and the Bills most certainly could have had one of them staying where they were and not giving up the extra #1. This is not a knock on Watkins as I think he is a legit #1 wideout, but so far he has not shown he is the best in his draft class (that is not saying that by the end of his career he won't be, just sayinghe is not now). Sure, he was injured (multiple times) and his QBs were not very good, but that all factors into the deal.

What's done is done and it's not worth complaining about, but so far the Bills would have been better off without the trade.

(I didn't look for & deduct points given off turnovers)

Points are the key, not yards and these numbers don't look good. Let's face it, if his last name was not Ryan, he would not be in the league.

  5. The fact that OJ turned out to be a despicable human being does not diminish his accomplishments as a football player. I don;t want to see #32 being worn by anyone at Buffalo. If I recall, Buffalo has only officially retired one number and that is #12 and soon to also be #78. Other numbers are just not handed out. Keep not handing it out.

  6. Defense is bog and the D-Line is real big, but also plentiful so maybe round two. I like a LB (Jack, Lee, or Ragland - don;t think Jack will fall to the Bills), but I also like the safety from WV alot - Karl Joseph. I don't have alot of faith in Aaron Williams health and not in love with what the Bills have there. He might be a surprise and good pick for the Bills.

  7. Glad it was not the Bills moving up there. Too much to give up for what may or may not be a franchise QB. The Bills have other needs. While I love Sammy Watkins and what he brings to the table, it was not worth our next years #1 to move up to get him, given the other quality Wide outs in the draft.
