  1. Nah, you pick up the ball when it's in the open not when it's in the middle of a scrum. You're almost always going to get hit while trying to pick it up in that instance.
  2. Damn, if you're going to get called for that little hit Byrd should lay him out next time.
  3. It's nice to see Woods being targeted. The guy is so good for a rookie and Thad just ignored him
  4. Goodwin is fast as hell. Just runs by double coverage like they're standing still. Safety got caught flat footed and before he realized what was happening Goodwin was 5 yards by him.
  5. I put this one on Pettine and the D. The D needs to play the game of the year. They need to step up and play like they're capable. It's a home game against a below average offense. Now's the time to show us what you've got. Against that nasty KC D I don't see the O putting up more than 14 points if the Bills D doesn't get some turnovers setting up easy scores. The ST needs to get in on the act and have some big plays too. Basically the team needs to pick the O up.
  6. Guess I veered a little off topic there.
  7. I'm not sure how you can make a private company (either the NFL or the networks) show games on TV. Of course, the government rents the airwaves to the TV companies so I suppose if they put language in the next contract that stipulates as much they could force their hand but I don't see that happening as the networks would likely just go off the air and use satellite and cable distribution instead as that's the how majority of americans get their TV anyhow. From what I've read two of the networks are considering going that route anyway if their litigation against Aereo doesn't go their way.
  8. KC hasn't allowed a team to score more than 17 points this year. The Bills haven't held a team to less than 20. Nobody expects the Bills to shut out teams but how about a more consistent D who has the occasional shut down performance before we anoint the D coordinator the 2nd coming of Buddy Ryan.
  9. Yeah, me either. It sounds like he was bullied for a year and a half and finally had enough. There are only so much a person can take and only many options for someone in his position who can't get any help from the powers that be. He could have taken a gun in and blown some people away or smashed some heads but he chose to walk away. The funniest part is that his reaction is being termed "childish" by some. It's not good PR but it sounds like the mature reaction to me. It's not like he was going to reason with the idiots who were doing this to him. Of course, it's not going to play well with his teammates when he returns - for them he would have been better off smashing some faces. I'm sure his teammates realized he wasn't that type of guy though, which is why they persisted.
  10. Some real insight there. They're good because they pressure the QB. The pressure the QB because they disguise where the blitz is coming from. That took hours and hours of film study to break down. I wonder how he has time to do the research on which Starbucks coffee is good this week.
  11. I've been dreaming of this for 17 years.
  12. My son, who is 9, only makes predictions when he has a strong feeling that the Bills are going to win. So far this year he's only predicted three games - Carolina, Baltimore and the Dolphins. He's been right every time. I have no idea how he decides they're going to win he just says, "I just have a feeling." It's been uncanny. He's predicted the Bills beat KC this week. Let's hope his perfect record holds up.
  13. I'm not sure why you're jumping on people who like what they've seen from Goodwin thus far. The one thing he has shown is that his hands are much better than TJ's. Other than that, you're right, neither has really shown that much. But if I have to choose between two guys who haven't shown that much I'll choose the guy who's had 2 games and shown me he has great speed and good hands vs. the guy who has had 23 and shown me he just has speed. The bottom line is that both are young WRs and who knows how they'll end up long term but your attitude towards people voting for Goodwin is a bit extreme.
  14. Yep, he panics easily and has his eyes towards the rush instead of down field. To top it off he fumbles on roughly half the sacks he takes. If he doesn't improve- and fast- KC and the Jets are going to eat him alive.
  15. Wow, that's the longest, "I was right!" post I've ever seen. Don't hurt your arm patting yourself on the back.
  16. Was her sex so wild that the entire room was shaking from it? If not, why isn't the hotel libel? Something fell from the ceiling and hit her in the face, does it matter what she was doing at the time?
  17. Hey, part of growing into a mature adult is running people over with your car and not stopping to make sure they're okay. Can anybody here honestly say they've never done the same thing?
  18. He's playing conservatively because of who he has at QB and, to a lesser extent, at WR. They have young guys everywhere yet fans expect this team to open it up and put loads of points on the board. You say he's leaving points off the board, I say he's leaving turnovers off it. You saw yesterday how a young QB can get overwhelmed when asked to do too much. Two lost fumbles and a horrible INT in addition to two more throws that could have easily been picked off and another fumble which the Bills recovered. The best way for this team to win games this year is to hope the D can pick things up and the O can avoid costly turnovers. You've seen the results of this formula, close games where the team has a chance to win games at the end. If the Bills opened things up as people suggest they'd be getting blown out of these games because of turnovers. I agree that if we see this same offense at the end of next year when everybody should be up to speed and on the same page then Hackett is an issue but as of right now he's doing what he needs to do with this young offense. It's not the offense I'd like to see either but it's the offense that this team needs to run if it hopes to win some games.
  19. I'd say this is pretty accurate. Switch QBs and the score would be very different. The one thing this Bills D has done well is get after the QB and if we had a QB who could consistently give them a lead it would be a different story.
  20. The O has a three and out fans say, "Hackett sucks, what horrible play calling." The D gives up a TD drive the fans say, "(insert players name here) made a mistake." I like Pettine's system more than that of the past couple of years too but it doesn't mean he's infallible and doesn't deserve blame when things don't go well.
  21. The Bills made some mistakes because they have players logging significant time at key positions who aren't very good. It wasn't some fluke. You can't trot Thad Lewis into the superdome and think you're going to come out with a win. There is no way in hell the Bills "should have won this game."
  22. Yeah, I don't wish injury on anybody but when you're up 3 scores with 3 minutes left and you're still dropping back to pass you deserve a scare to your starting QB.
  23. He's been doing it all half. It's making me sick to my stomach. He called them "scrappy" at one point.
  24. I'd like to see SJ sit the rest of the game out. He's a warrior to be sure but this game is way out of hand. No need to risk injuring it more.
  25. Oh, he's entered Jauron territory but the more open I see this offense with Lewis at the helm the more I understand why he does it.
