Here's Willis' 3 quotes in that article:
"That's their decision, it ain't mine," McGahee said after
practice. "That's all I can say about that. I'm not worried about
it. My time will come. ... Only one person can start and
unfortunately he's the one that's starting."
and
"What, third down?" McGahee said. "Nothing's good enough for
now. But you know, you always strive to be better, and that's what
I'm going to do."
and
"I don't want to be no backup," McGahee said Wednesday. "But
you know, they're paying me. They're paying me a good salary. So to
be a backup, I'll be a backup."
WTF is so controversial about that????

I'm just glad that we signed AS. He has been a decent LE and would have commanded a big contract next year. Then what do we have...Denney at LE and Kelsay at RE? The comparisons with Ogun and Seymour don't mean squat. AS has played well his 1st 3 years on OUR defense and will continue to get better. Thanks TD! Now get to work on JJ.
Schobel plays RDE...
I agree, though, Denney would've stayed at LDE & Kelsay would've moved to RDE...
pretty scary thought.

I know there are more to stats than just sacks, but Schobel's deal looks like money well spent to me:
Jevon Kearse: $66 million, six-year deal with the Philadelphia Eagles that includes a $16 million signing bonus. 10 sacks in 2003.
Grant Wistrom: $33-million deal, six year deal with the Seattle Seahawks that includes a $14M signing bonus. 8 sacks in 2003.
Adewale Ogunleye: $33 million, six year deal with the Chicago Bears. The deal included a $15 million signing bonus. 15 sacks in 2003.
Aaron Schobel: $28 million, six year deal. Schobel received a $7 million signing bonus and will also earn a $2 million roster bonus next spring. 12 sacks in 2003.
I guess when you look at those numbers, it was a decent deal for TD...
though I still want AS to pick up his game and become a complete DE.

Agreed, I think JJ's gone for sure now after this year.
-
WTF is wrong with TD for overpaying Schobel?
Somewhere in heaven, John Butler is looking down at TD & smiling.
Still though, a lot less $$$ than Wistrom got...
Hopefully, AS will bring his game up a few levels & become a complete DE.

Any relation to Reuben???

Great idea for a thread!
I like Pats -3 over Colts (Manning will get crushed)
Titans-Felons under 38-1/2 (Fish's D is still tough, Fish's O is going nowhere)
and 1 more game which I'll pick & edit in this post before tomorrow's game starts.

Congrats, that's really cool!!!

Don Shula... we'd talk about how overrated his 72 Phins were,
and about how it felt like getting humiliated in the last game he ever coached.
-
As long as we're talking about THE #1 conference, (as always) the Big Ten:
HOW BOUT THEM BOILERS!!!
51-0 (ouch)

BUMP, this got lost in the cut-down day threads.
Here's to Lee Evans torching DeWayne Washington this Sunday!
-
I'd like to see Indy win and Manning get slapped around.
-
I would LOVE for you to be right on this ...
but I see them at 8-8, their D is still strong.
I think the key to our season is (as always) our performance in the division.
The playoffs are in reach with a winning divisional record.
I see us splitting with the Jets & Felons,
and getting swept by the Pats... hope I'm wrong.

That way, the Titans get 9 home games... won't happen.
If anything, they'd move the game to a neutral site like they did last year on MNF when the Felons played SD in Arizona.

Poor Sammy, no respect at all.
