  1. During the Moving the Chains segment with Jim Miller and Pat Kerwan, they were going to dissect the AFC East personell by team. I got home before they got to the Bills. Did anyone hear their analysis? They both are very knowledgable and most often give a good and fair assessment. If anyone heard could you please post the major talking points? Many thanks..
  2. I know this has been discussed at length, but I am done reading any articles by Gleason or Sullivan. Both chuckleheads have personal vendettas against the Pegula family and both our Pro sports teams. Whatever was said by members of the PSE team to them has each of them sporting their unique "little man's complex" in vilifying both organizations with the same tired comments and examples. Holding the teams responsible for decisions made are ok, but the same ole same ole tired viritrol is personal and irresponsible. Both of these Napoleans need to read articles penned by the late Phil Ranallo of the old Courier Express and Larry Felser of the TBN. They were both fair and balanced and in the most professional way. These two hacks who call themselves journalists are laughing stocks in the journalistic world. They both need to get shoe lifts and man up. Mathew Fairburn puts them both to shame. Sorry for the rant but I just had to get this off my chest.
  3. Sorry if this has been posted, what week could we activate Sammy if he is ready and able to return?
  4. Why do the national news pinheads aka Rapoort, Shefter, La Canfora, always get the first scoop regarding local sports teams. The TT deal was first reported by Rapoport, what are the local media guys aka, Carucci, Sal C and the D&C guy doing?? Does the team feel they need to go the national reporting route? Just asking.
  5. Does anyone know what the salary cap implications Glenn's extension has? I believe we received a huge break given the 5yr extension spread vs the franchise tag hit. Sorry if someone has already posted the effect. Now we go and extend Gilmore!!
  6. With the latest cuts and contract restructurings, Spotrac shows the Bills to have $6.8 mil cap space with all contracts and $13.1 mil for the top 51 contracts. What number is the official one the league looks at March 9th?
  7. Texans vs Bills: Hoyer looks like an all-Pro, with no pressure he completes pass after pass, Bills lay 8 in coverage to no avail. Takes till the last play to secure a win at Home>> Barely scratch out a win. Pats vs Texans: Sunday nite game, Texans at home in a must win game, Pats in a two game losing spin. All up arrows point to a Texan win. Pats bounce Hoyer around like a ping pong ball. Relentless pressure, Hoyer looks like a JV. Pats sack him 5 times, numerous other hits until they knock him out in the 4th. Pats cruise to a very easy win 27-6. Same common opponent, home vs away status and look at the results. We barely get a win, Pats in a laugher. Point taken, with all our defensive talent , we still look confused, out of position, out coached. Something said about a head coach and his assistants who know their players, know how to scheme game to game, and bring the wood ! Rex, take a few pointers!!
  8. With the Pegulas taking control of the team last year, what exactly is Brandon's title and responsibilities this year. In discussing breaking the season ticket mark, he cites the work Whaley and Rex have done on the "football side" of the franchise. I don't remember seeing him in the war room during this years draft. It seems to me that he is now strictly on the "business side" of the new operation with no input regarding the football / personnel side. Anyone have any insight ?? Org chart outlining the new regime responsibilities?
  9. Spotrac shows the 2015 Bills Salary cap taking a $2.2 M hit for CJ Spiller in "Dead Cap" dollars. If he played out his rookie contract, why would we be on the hook for an options bonus. Also, we are taking a $1.5 M hit for Orton's decision to retire. Retiring was his decision, not the Bills. Why is the team penalized? ESPN has estimated the 2015 Cap at $140/ $142 M. Using the $140M figure, Spotrac shows the Bills to have approximately $26.0M in free cap space. The $26M includes the Spiller and Orton dead money and no cuts/salary renegotiations to the current roster. Looks like we should be in good shape to sign FA's and extend current Bills the FO feels we need to keep.
  10. According to ESPN last night, (NFL Insiders) Buffalo has the 4th largest open salary cap space in the NFL going in 2015. Only Oakland, Jax, and Cleveland have more space.
  11. Just a thought, with Ralph's passing, the issues between these two are over. Mr Polian has built 3 different organizations into winning, Super Bowl contenders. He knows how to organize, structure , scout and build a winning Football culture. I agree he got stale during his stay in Indy and tried to groom his son to be heir apparent and took his eye off the ball. Don't you believe he would love one more shot to get his beloved Bills back on top?? His ESPN gig is just not his style, he needs to be actively engaged with real football. He knows talent, scouting, and players...I for one would love to see this move. Thoughts??
  12. Heard on an NFL Replay during a Steeler game that Carrington is on the bubble to make the 53 man squad. How is Mr Eugene Parker "super Agent" working for you now?? Bills offered him a fair contract considering his injury but Mr Parker had more grandious plans for his client. That guys is poison...Good Luck Jerry Jones and your Dez Bryant / Colonel Parker circus!
  13. Given the recent FA signings along with the release of Kolb, does anyone have a handle on what our current cap situation is? This am on WGR, GM Whaley stated that we have plenty of cap space to sign whoever we think will upgrade the roster. What is the thought on Spikes? How much do you think it would take to sign him? What's the status of McClain who we had in earlier?
  14. Does anyone have an update on Hairston's status for he upcoming season? The reports on his status have been very vague and I am wondering is he even physically ready to play? What exactly was his physical issue that landed him on IR for the year, a hip issue? Maybe it's time to cut him if he is physically unable to go for OTA's this spring. Can't make the club in the tub.....
  15. To all resident "cap experts". Can anyone state what the 2014 Bills dead cap $'s will count against this season's cap number? What is the estimated 2014 Salary Cap expected to be? I know the Fitztragic debacle will cost approx. $7mil this year. If we try and restructure any current players under contract, ie Mario Williams, can that give us some cap relief for 2014. Thx
  16. The entire defense due to legit coaching. See what sound coaching did to the KC Chiefs? We do have hope with our coaching staff.
  17. They will pound the rock as usual against our front seven until we show we can stop them. Not sure why they abandoned the run against the Pats when it looked like they were controlling the LOS. They will want to slow down the tempo so Geno does not have to start flinging it around, hence the multiple pix. Heavy doses of the run with play action. Can't forget the way they ran the ball down our throats these past few yrs. Hopefully Pettine will have the scheme to stop and confuse Geno.
  18. Has it ever been disclosed what type of "Reserve/Non Football illness" Hairston has? During training camp, it was disclosed as a "lower body" ailment. He must have some value or the team would have cut him as and went the injury settlement route. Who is our swing tackle reserve, Thomas Welch, ugh!
  19. Per Fox Sports on PFT, Gilmore will miss 6-8 weeks with a wrist, hand injury. The injury itself was not disclosed.
  20. Been away for a week and don't know if this has been addressed. Watching NFL 32 last week, the boring QB discussion came up with McShay, Kiper and Bill Polian. I was only interested in Polian's comments, not the babbling heads. He was very thorough in his comments and said, his opinion only, that Landry Jones was the only QB he felt would eventually be a long term "franchise" QB. Said he was a victim of a very talent poor team, poor offensive coaching and third rate receivers. That said, he believes his physical attributes, height, arm strength, durability, and # of starts in a major program made him his choice. I know the Bills are talking up Smith, Nassib and Barley but could this be a smoke screen with Jones their secret choice at #2. I respect Polian's expertise as a talent evaluator and know he has been high on Jones for some time. Impact player @1 and Jones @ #2 ?
  21. Does anyone know if Kyle W had off season surgery on his other Achilles tendon? I know he stated it was giving him the same type of pain his surgically repaired tendon had. Sorry if this topic has been already addressed.
  22. Great explanation Dibs, thx.
  23. I know that last years unused cap $'s could be carried over to 2013, what about unused $'s in 2013? With the new CBA, I know there is a flloor teams must spend to relative to the cap but I am not sure about $'s not spent. Can someone shed some light on this? Maybe the reason the Bills are treading so lightly this year given the modest amount of top talent available in lieu of going big next yr after year 1 of the new coaching team getting its feet wet.
  24. This may have already been addressed and I missed it, sorry if it has. How can you get access to the Buffalo News articles without subscribing to the paper? If I try and access an article, it blacks out the article and tells me I need to subcribe. Can someone give me some help or do you have to subcribe to access these articles? Thanks Atlbills!
  25. Anyone know when the Bills vs Steelers replay will air on Direct TV? I have not seen it posted yet on the NFL Network. Here in the Atl I live for these replays.
