He's counting the days until the end of the season when he can file for free agency and get out of here, and you know he will find a suitor because quarterback play in this league is largely pretty bad. But he can't play for the Bills. This is Edwards' mess, and he has to work through the adversity in order to become the player so many people think he can become. Leo: I agree. Let Edwards work his way out of this horrific slump. Even if Losman sparked a win or two, what's the point? That may help elevate his value as a free agent, but it's not going to help the Bills' long-term objectives.

If Billy Joe Hobert came in and led the Bills to the Superbowl, would we have to extend his contract? Would we continue to insist that he know the playbook?

A bit of a different situation, I would contend. Protecting the ball and milking the clock when you have the lead and are driving is a bit different than milking the clock when you're behind and need a 47 yarder into the wind to win the game.

Neither a 56 or a 47 yarder is a chip shot. Kickers are gonna hit those in the NFL. ...the difference is, Cleveland hit the 56 yard on 4th down after trying to get closer and actually move the ball. The Corpse just ran into the ground 3 times in a row..after the Royal reception, Jauron's headset may as well have said "Fisher Price" on the side of them. He was done coaching.
