Yeah, like he's going to answer that. What are you gonna do? Go to the Bills stadium parking lot and see if one of the employees has parked a car there? Puh-leaassee. I think if they sign him then Freddy or Marshawn are trade bait. Who gives a crap about in season or off season stupidity? Either way it will lead to suspensions. That's the problem. Let it go, it's over. JUST-LET-IT-GO!! No offense meant to you gordon g I appreciate your information because you are right the vast majority of the time but I'm guessing the reason you can get this info is because your G. Gordon Liddy. Just don't forget to take the tape off the door this time.

Impressing Performances at the combine

DT, TE, C, LB, OL are all much greater needs than WR this year. I hope the Bills can trade down this year with somebody. -

Great story sorry to hear your dad passed on. If he was Okinawa then he did his part for sure in the war. BTW, what did the translation say?

Impressing Performances at the combine
Steely Dan replied to thebandit27's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We take the combine too seriously. I'm not so sure scouts put as much emphasis on the drills and such. The main things that are best about the combine for teams is that they give the Wonderlic, they interview the players and they give them medical examinations. IMO, all of those are the most important things about the combine and mostly things we'll never hear about. -

I posted a rundown of Cooks analysis in another thread so I don't feel like finding it again but I'll say that everything that's a knock on Cook can be corrected through coaching, IMO, and he will, in the long run, be the best TE to come out of this draft. I know people hate those who read draft guide roundups and then post based on them but I would ask where they get their info from? How many of them have pored over college films and attended the combines? That said. I'll need to read up more on all the TE prospects before making a final decision. -

I don't have a link but the Demagogue and Comical had a piece on the distribution of New York tax dollars a few years back and it worked out pretty much evenly across the state based on the population of counties. -

Thanks for that. When asked about his reaction to the Westboro group’s signs, Rocco Polino said: “I don’t think I have a reaction. They hold them [the signs] to force you into a reaction. Why dignify it?" “Hatred in the name of Jesus is a despicable thing,” said the Rev. Randy Milleville, the church’s pastor. 'Nuff said. -
ESPN on Marshawn Lynch Situation

Pay for your trusted friends to come out to you. Play video games shoot pool. If you want to go out hire body guards. There are a lot of ways around these things that are just smart and for millions of dollars I'd work around them. If you don't work around them then trouble will find you. The idea is to minimize the chances of anything bad happening. A lot of people are going to bait you into fights so they can sue you. Some women are going to cry rape after having consensual sex. There are a lot of pitfalls and they need to be dealt with intelligently. -

I don't think you're being racist but one person, in particular, who posts on this board will think you are. Since RB is the easiest position for a player who steps up into the NFL I'd take a first rounder, depending on the RB depth in the draft in heartbeat. Anything less than that and I'd say no. If the Bills could come away with a Matt Forte or Chris Johnson type RB from the draft they would be better off anyway, IMO. I did a lot of dumb things too as a teenager and into my early twenties. If someone had come up to me and said here's a few million dollars and all I expect is for you to keep in top physical shape, learn this book backwards and forwards, avoid drugs, strip clubs and people who can put you into trouble I would have done it in a heartbeat. -

The differences between them and the Southern Baptists are very slight. The Southern Baptists agree in principle with them but have the good taste to keep away from funerals to make their point. Here is a transcript from Pat Robertson and the late Jerry Falwell after 9/11. This is from a site that wants to take the rumors and set the story straight; THE TRANSCRIPT Here are their comments in context: Pat Robertson began the interview asking Falwell what his response has been to the terrorist attacks. Falwell said there had been a massive prayer gathering of members of his congregation along with students from Liberty University. He told the TV audience that they had humbled themselves before God, prayed for President Bush and his advisers and for the victims of the attacks. Falwell then likened the attacks to Pearl Harbor and that at that time, Hitler wanted to destroy the Jews and conquer the world. Now, "Islamic fundamentalists, radical terrorists, Middle-Eastern monsters" want to destroy Israel and conquer the world. The two men then talked about religious revival and whether the events of September 11 might spark spiritual renewal in America. Then Falwell said, "What we saw on Tuesday, as terrible as it is, could be miniscule if, in fact, God continues to lift the curtain and allow the enemies of America to give us probably what we deserve." Robertson replied, "Well, Jerry, that's my feeling. I think we've just seen the antechamber to terror, we haven't begun to see what they can do to the major population." Falwell said, "The ACLU has got to take a lot of blame for this. And I know I'll hear from them for this, but throwing God...successfully with the help of the federal court system...throwing God out of the public square, out of the schools, the abortionists have got to bear some burden for this because God will not be mocked and when we destroy 40 million little innocent babies, we make God mad...I really believe that the pagans and the abortionists and the feminists and the gays and the lesbians who are actively trying to make that an alternative lifestyle, the ACLU, People for the American Way, all of them who try to secularize America...I point the thing in their face and say you helped this happen." Robertson said, "I totally concur, and the problem is we've adopted that agenda at the highest levels of our government, and so we're responsible as a free society for what the top people do, and the top people, of course, is the court system." Falwell added, "Pat, did you notice yesterday that the ACLU and all the Christ-haters, the People for the American Way, NOW, etc., were totally disregarded by the Democrats and the Republicans in both houses of Congress, as they went out on the steps and and called out to God in prayer and sang 'God bless America' and said, let the ACLU be hanged. In other words, when the nation is on its knees, the only normal and natural and spiritual thing to do is what we ought to be doing all the time, calling on God." They are all very scary and IMO, nutjobs that need close monitoring due to their radical beliefs. The Southern Baptists have not tried violence to make their points, instead they use the political system to get people of similar beliefs elected to the Presidency and The House of Representatives. Finally people have become clued in to their agenda and realize that the Republican party has been hijacked by these people and turned it into a party of primarily a far right social agenda and not a conservative spending agenda anymore. When Karl Rove saw to it that gay marriage initiatives were put on several state ballots he brought these people out in droves to vote for Bush. Now I think the economy is the biggest reason people voted in more Democrats but I also think a lot of people are waking up to the fact that the Republican party has been pulled to the far right by these nutjobs. Since the vast majority of Americans are moderates it has only served, in the long run, to work against them. JMO BTW, with Robertson blaming people for the wrath of god in tragedies I wonder what God was trying to say when Robertson got prostate cancer? -

Unlike Madden they would control only their player and it would be with real looking guys on a realistic field that would allow for different angle replays. Butt head! -
Westboro Church to protest at Flight 3407 memorials
Steely Dan replied to RayFinkle's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Best answer for everybody, including the media, ignore them. Ignore them is the best answer IMO. Dozens of counterdemonstrators swarmed three members of a Kansas-based hate group when they tried to protest near a Main Street church where a memorial service for a Continental Flight 3407 crash victim was being held this afternoon. The protesters, from Westboro Baptist Church in Topeka, Kan., left the area near St. Joseph University Catholic Church, near the University at Buffalo's South Campus, at about 1:50 p.m., only a few minutes after they arrived. Counterdemonstrators, carrying plain white flags and banners, surrounded the three Westboro picketers as Buffalo police looked on. Patrick McGrath, a freshman at Buffalo State College, attended the counterdemonstration and said, sarcastically, he hoped the Westboro members got their word out in the few minutes they walked along Main Street. "As a community, we sure did," McGrath said. -
It also makes it harder for an O lineman to get under his pads. My feeling about small DE's is that if they're very good or great at pass rushing that's a great skill to have on your team but I think a lot of them are one trick ponies. IMO, they are at a great disadvantage against the run. I think 6'4" to 6'6" is optimum for a DE. The taller they are the better it is as long as it doesn't interfere with their ability to handle shorter OL and make them too slow. I like big DE's because if he doesn't get the sack he can force the QB to throw away from his side or to lob the pass over his head which leads to more ints. JMO

The reason for bye weeks is to give the networks 17 weeks of games to televise instead of 16. He doesn't get that and he also doesn't get that it wouldn't be a bye week for all the teams. All of the best players would not get a bye and the pro bowl teams would only have one week to prepare game plans. I don't believe any players would play in the game. All the starters would excuse themselves and the game would be played by backups. Since jobs are so easy to find in any economy, thousands of people packing up leaving Buffalo for the same city would be very easy. I think one of their receivers was hurt playing flag football on the beach and twisted his knee and it pretty much wrecked his career. Here's an idea. With holographic technology being what it is today they should do a holographic image of each player on the field. Then let each player have control over his own likeness. It would be funny as hades and they could play very aggressively. -

Exactly, scouts make crapola. If you paid attention to his track record you'd find out he's the best, IMO, out there. I -
BTW, this is from the Tim Graham article. Bills coach Dick Jauron on Thursday noted how receiving tight ends still can curtail defensive penetration because of their threat in the passing game. "Given some degree of blocking proficiency, the better receiver you are the better blocker it makes you because the defense is busy defending you all the time," Jauron said. "They're defending you in the run game because they fear you in the pass game. "If he's got some kind of blocking ability and he's a really good pass receiver, it'll make him a better blocker. They're worried about him escaping and getting down the field."

I don't know the facts about the names yet but I just don't think DE is a high priority. There are greater needs for this team.

Link It appears that Jared Cook outdid Pettigrew on most of the drills, which doesn't mean much. The only one I put much stock in is the vertical leap. It's a big part of receiving in the endzone. JMO. Cook led all TE's with a 41.0" which is 5" more than the next best of 36". At this point looking at everything I'd rather have Cook and that's based on more than just stats.

Ok, same for you. Go to a bar where they're hanging out and say that to them.

I dare you to tell that to a group of them hanging out at a bar.

Hunter S. Thompson hung with them for awhile to write a book and after awhile they didn't believe him about the book and thought he was a wannabe and kicked the ever livin out of him.
