Oh dear God!! -
Is there anyone here who works in the porn industry?
Steely Dan replied to Hazed and Amuzed's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Ummmm.....I'm curious to know about what the hell this is but at the same time I'm positive I don't want to see it. -
Pictures are a definite must for this thread!!

The latest post from Mrs. Deerball, You know you've been in the hospital too long when: 1. You know at least 30 doctors and nurses by name when you see them in the hall 2. You make a quick trip out to get something and when you say "we need to get home" you mean back to the hospital 3. You know where the ICU nurses keep their stash of spoons 4. The guard at the desk doesn't even look up from his magazine when you breeze by 5. You know what Starbucks drink everyone on the care team likes

Colonscopy Tomorrow, What A Pain In The Ass!!
Steely Dan replied to Steely Dan's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Just tell your doc to take his colonscopy and shove it up your ass!! Oh wait, never mind. -
She is funny. She has a great attitude as well. The circle of suds is a lucky man.

Here's the latest; You know things are back to normal when you can take time to clean the cat box and empty the dishwasher. I picked up a small dish we don't use very often and realized that I couldn't reach the high shelf where it belongs. Then I realized that it didn't matter....I could save it for my tall husband. Big exhale here. We were all out of underwear so I threw in a load. If you know us, you know that John is Mr. Laundry in our house. He hates how I do it (I don't read labels and I often forget to move stuff to the dryer in a timely manner ;}). The usual powder detergent wasn't there, just some liquidy/cloroxy/gel-type stuff. I poured in a cup and hoped for the best. Reason number 8472 why we need John back home. I'm thinking a lot today about perspective, putting things into it, changing it, etc. The infectious disease doctor visited yesterday. He's a tall, angular man, very bright, no people skills. He's blunt to say the least. He goes up to John and says, "Hey, you ever see the movie The Matrix? The part where the guy leans his head a little and the bullet misses him by a millimeter? Well, that was you. You nearly died. Have a nice day." We spend so much time on autopilot; we let time go by, uncelebrated. We let 9 years go by since we've seen a brother, 14 years since we've seen a niece or a goddaughter. We assume they will just be there. Now I can't claim that I've had a big epiphany or anything (haha Jodie and JRowe). I am all too human and very unperfect. But I will do my best to remember what matters most in life. I will appreciate more and complain less. So as I'm driving to the hospital this morning, I've got that same U2 concert mix cd playing. As I got ready to buzz through Starbucks to get John his half water grande Americano, here's what played: It's a beautiful day Sky falls, you feel like It's a beautiful day Don't let it get away I'm gonna work on not letting any more time just get away. It is indeed a beautiful day. Notes: *We're in room 417, truly the Four Seasons Clift of hospital rooms. Flat screen and DVD player! *Still no word on how much longer we will be here or when the sinus procedure will happen *John greeted me with "Hey, Dick Jauron's going to the Eagles." *Paul, the peaty single malt I couldn't remember is called Laphroaig. Peter, wow, you got home so late last night. *Henry, the pink flowers have their own shelf here ;} *John ordered me to tell the nurse he plans to go home TODAY. Uh, no. *An IV and heart monitor are still attached. Love to all. All the praying made a big difference. I think God said, "Alright already!" Things look good for the circular suds!!

Thanks, here's another; Evening Update: We didn't get to move him to the 4th floor but it's just because they didn't have an available room. Hoping for tomorrow. The ICU nurses say the 4th floor rooms are super deluxe....there's even a reclining chair for the attending family member. Looking forward to that! John did a LOT of walking today. The physical therapist had him stand on one foot and other little tests. He passed with flying colors. While we were strolling the corridor, I asked John what the last thing was he remembered when this all started. He said, "Driving to the hospital." I said, "Yeah, in the ambulance" and he shook his head "No, I drove here in my car." Uh, no. Good thing I have evidence. For some bizarre reason I decided to film 12 seconds worth of me driving, following the ambulance. Why would somebody do that? I must've been in deep shock. Thanks to Brandon for bringing me snacks and to Hal, Cindy, and Kierstin for bringing me dinner. I hear from Liz that our neighbors delivered food too. So wonderful. John read his cards today...yeah! Woops, gotta run...a room on 4 just became available and we are "movin' on up" (dating myself). Love ya people.

I'd love to hear that too. People don't watch the games and look at the sack stat only. Then they believe they are qualified to make these judgments. BTW, who thought he should fetch a first round pick? A guy who was pondering retirement this year and is on the beginning of the downslope of his career and they think he should fetch a first rounder? Not getting a first for him has nothing to do with his present abilities. I guess the Bills should send a 1st round pick for Jason Taylor.

He has a lot of experience with LB's and that's a big need for the Bills right now. JMO If he is the choice then kudos to you Bash Gash for thinking about it.

Pilots blamed for fatal Clarence crash
Steely Dan replied to Chandler#81's topic in Off the Wall Archives
It's amazing that the pilot pulled when he should have pushed and that was the cause of the accident. You'd think they'd have some sort of system to tell him he's doing the wrong thing. Link Washington (CNN) -- Confronted with signs that his plane was entering an aerodynamic stall, the pilot of Continental Flight 3407 pulled on the plane's control column when he should have pushed -- a simple but inexplicable error that led to the death of 50 people, the National Transportation Safety Board ruled Tuesday evening. The board's ruling, coming a year after the crash near Buffalo, New York, is stark in its simplicity. NTSB members say the accident laid bare a complex myriad of safety problems at the nation's regional airlines and some that extend to major carriers. Among the problems: -- Airlines that do not adequately train pilots to handle stalls. -- Pilots who engage in unnecessary conversations during takeoffs and landings. -- Record-keeping systems that allow pilots to conceal failed tests. -- Pilot fatigue. The safety board issued more than 20 recommendations at the conclusion of the hearing. -
NTSB Releases Report On Flight 3407 Disaster.

I went to the assistant function and entered "pilot error" and that thread never showed up. Oh well. -

There are times I've done things that were the opposite of what I was supposed to do just due to my own brain cramps. I can't believe a plane doesn't have an idiot proof system to keep that from happening.

Chloe?! What the hell kinda name is that?! What about: Thurman, Bruce, Steve, Andre. If you had to go with a girls name you could use Erin, Andrea, Stevie, Erica, Freddie. Sheesh! At least you didn't name her "Peter Pan Guy" Congrats!! Have a cigar in honor of the new little one.

Is it possible that anyone here wonders why he's been scarce on this board for awhile?

If you had to look at Deerball and listen to him everyday the only way you could stay with him for years is if you had a sense of humor, ya gotta laugh to keep from crying sometimes. JMO

Banker Busted on TV Looking at Nude Pics
Steely Dan replied to wide_right's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I wonder if he's gonna keep his job? -
Here's the latest; Afternoon update: *He's going to need surgery on his sinuses (mastoid bones) to remove infection in there. Although I hate the idea of tubes and anesthesia again, it's critical to get all the infection out or this could come back. On the bright side, maybe this means his snoring will be cured *He has thrush on the roof of his mouth so he's getting antibiotics for that along with cepacol lozenges. * He pinched my butt when I turned to get him a tissue. Rande, I am keeping WAY too close an eye on him. Haha. You know I'm "half fun and full earnest" as the Irish say in regard to the snoring. If you or someone you love has extreme snoring and or chronic sinus trouble, you need to get it checked out. Maybe when they go into the sinus cavities they can give him that lobotomy he so see richly needs.

What You Need To Know About the Potential Lockout
Steely Dan replied to Mr. ChumChums's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This looks much worse for the players than I thought. They may be under the gun to get a deal. Goodell may have been banking on the players realizing how bad an uncapped year would be for them and by waiting he's put them under the gun. Since a lot of teams, IMO, will use this uncapped year to cut a lot of overpaid vets the union is in a tough place. I think a deal gets done this year. JMO -
Looks like the old Deerball is coming back to life. Is that a good thing or a bad thing?

Westboro Baptist Chruch get out-protested!
Steely Dan replied to DrDawkinstein's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Hopefully, you'll never need my services but I am there for ya! IIRC, they are, legally, bilking the welfare system. Am I supposed to get motivated between my legs? You're an idiot. Comparing late term abortion to a couple of cells just shows how little of a grip you have on the issue. Just because somebody supports the right of a woman to remove a couple of cells doesn't mean they support all abortion procedures. Keep your strawman out in the field. Jackass!! Amen. (Sorry I just couldn't let his stupidity slide on the above post.) What he said!
