  1. We have a lot of undersized guys, especially on the defensive side of the ball. It seems to me there will have to be a good deal of overhauling the roster this offseason. But we all know only so much can be done in one spring.

Agreed. We are at least two drafts away from being an upper quartile team. I hope that Eric Woods fully recovers from his injury, but personally I wouldn't count on him being back for the 2010 season. So that means another whole to fill...

Once Nix has a coach in place, they will have a lot of work to do in deciding who will fit in with the new coach's philosophy and who is even worth keeping just from an ability standpoint. He's got his work cut out for himself . . .

  2. I say less chance we go QB in round 1. Maybe round 3 or later, or we wait till 2011 and work on fixing the lines and LBs this year.

Ya, I think it's a given that we are at least 2 years from playoff contention. If we can get the lines rebuilt and shore up the LB position, we've got a chance at winning "Martyball". QB isn't going to fix this team's problems. If there aren't any draftable prospects, we can get a stop-gap QB in the FA market, and work on the rebuilding project...

  3. This is going to be a very important draft for the Bills, especially based on what happens with Nate Clements. IF the Bills can trade down to the mid 20s in the first round, and pick up and extra second round pic, I'd be OK with it, as long as there isn't a difference making OL or DL that we would be passing up on. So obviously, we won't know the answer to this question until the Bills are on the clock with the 12th pick in April...

  4. You look at our O-line and wonder: "How many of these guys would be starters on other NFL teams?". It's time to take a hard look at what we have, and either demote or cut some of our O-line players, and bring in some studs.

And a word about MacGahee: He has talent, but isn't consistent enough. I want a guy who doesn't take plays off, and comes ready to play every sunday. This guy is too inconsistent from week to week. Don't offer him an extension...

  5. I've been pleasantly surprised by how well this year has gone. To be in the playoff race in week 16 in a rebuilding year was more than I hoped for. I believe in Marv. If they can pull the trigger on a decent FA acqusition or two and somehow retain Clements, I think 2007 could be a very good year for the Bills. Being in the ACF East holds plenty of challenges but Marv has proved before that he is up to the task. Bring on '07!!!!

PS: We need to tank this Sunday to improve Draft position! LOL

  6. L.F. has been a warrior for the Bills. A key ingredient when they had one of the best defenses in the league. But a lot has changed over the past couple of years thanks to the shambles that T.D. left for Marv and Co... The middle of the defense needs an upgrade. L.F. isn't getting any younger and if this team truly is going to be a contender, it may be time to draft a stud MLB or sign a F.A. who has his best years ahead of him. If L.F. could be retained for a reasonable cap hit I would be ok with it but it sounds like he wants out... March will be interesting.
