Edwards is the best QB on the roster at the moment if a new coach can coach him up. That said, if he does start, I have $10 that says he doesn't start ALL 16 games.
Give Edwards to Josh McDaniels or Mike Holmgren and you have a quarterback who can be a starter in this league. Will Edwards be a Drew Brees or a Manning or a Brady or a Roethlisberger?
No
But can Edwards be a serviceable starter for a year or two while we find a franchise quarterback? He could be
Edwards was coached under Turk Schonert, as Edwards' QB coach in his first season and later as OC/QB Coach.
Schonert can't hold a candle next to McDaniels, Holmgren or other successful quarterback groomers/QB coaches
Bill Walsh felt Edwards could be a good QB and this coming from someone who was instrumental in Montana and Steve Young's development. No, Edwards won't be a Montana or a Steve Young.
But with the right type of quarterback coach, Edwards can be resuscitated into a serviceable starter, until a long-term answer is found.
And bringing in journeyman backups like Kelly Holcomb and Ryan Fitzpatrick has got us nowhere in the past.

Can someone give me the drafts he was apart of?
His Wikipedia bio is excellent and lists a lot of them.
-
Let's hope Nix can also build a team around him. He's 70 years old. He can be GM for many years. But succession planning is something I hope Brandon has thought about.

Oh my god - look at Stroud!
Yikes! And what's remarkable is that the guy took 691 snaps, among the top 5 nose tackle / defensive tackles on the list, so there's lots of data to back up the guy's poor score.
-
But it basically has to be a case that is that extreme - where the team goes 1-15. Morris has at least won three and has the team playing better (2 wins in a row).
The only other coach I can think of being fired after one season is Ray Rhodes, and that was under weird circumstances.
I still don't completely understand what happened there in Green Bay with him.
-
Pretty much. The guy lost a person in excess weight since a year ago just to get out there. Pretty amazing he played for over 1/2 an NFL season at all.
Mike Williams, with durability? Who woulda thought

By the time 12:30pm comes around I will probably be so hammered that going to the game will seem like a good idea.
You might actually convince yourself that the Bills have an All-Pro offensive line, anchored by perennial pro bowl calibre tackle Kirk Chambers
-
Is there a player out there like Matt Schaub. A solid (young) backup who gets traded to another team and thrives.
-
Kyle is one of my top 5 or 6 favorite Bills players
The others on the list are Freddy, Eric Wood, Schobel, McGee, maybe Moorman

Did you get the sense in the interview that Schonert was pining for a job?
-
I agree on this. The reports of Tampa's interest in Cowher was before they beat the Saints. It is exceedingly rare to fire a first-year head coach.
Except if your Bill Parcells, who doesn't give a hoot. (bye bye Cam Cameron)

that was also Bledsoe's major flaw. Why throw the ball away when you can take a sack and rest on the ground for 5 seconds?
Come on, statues are in rigid upright positions for long periods of time. So give a statue a break. Every statue needs a rest period. Drew Bledsoe deserved every one of those 5 seconds.

You are right about the distance, Buffalo is actually about 100 miles closer than Tampa, my mistake.
You are wrong about Football in Tampa. Tampa is NOT Jacksonville!!!!!!! Tampa has supported the Bucs since the beginning & aside from the Gruden years the Bucs have had terrible teams, so throw out history of failure by bad coaches as a Buffalo problem alone. Tampa also supported the Tampa Bay Bandits of the USFL. (Now they were a fun team to watch)
If the Tampa job were to open it would be more attractive to a Coach than Buffalo for a number of reasons.
#1 NO STATE INCOME TAX
2 Great Facilities
3 Great Weather & Area to live (makes the wife HAPPY)
4 Freeman is a MUCH BETTER QB than ANY on the Bills & the kind of QB a Coach can build a team around for YEARS.
However as I said before, I would be surprised if the Bucs fire Morris so I doubt the job will be available.
I've been to two Bucs games in the last 4 years and I found their fans to be VERY passionate and also knowledgeable

SD is "under the radar"? Thye've won 10 in a row and have been described as the "hottest team in the league" for the past 2 weeks.
They are preparing to destroy the floundering NFC, while Indy is preparing, in their usual fashion, for a first round exit.
No surprise if that happens. Minus their Superbowl year, they always seem to have these 13, 14 win seasons and get the boot in the playoffs. Recent booters were SD, and Pit

And please understand I am not meaning to piss people off, but haven't we all been snowed by this org long enough? I mean rumor upon rumor upon rumor for years from NFL 'insiders'. ESPN CBS Etal have screwed the pooch in regards to the Bills for 15 years now easily.
So instead of getting all hyped and then let down...AGAIN...lets just relax and let it play out how it does and hopefully we will all be happier soon.
We're only 5 days away from Black Monday. So we'll learn about Fewell's future next week after Ralphie and Russell have their sitdown in Mo-Town

This is pretty close to what I'd like.
1. Brohm
2. Another young QB in the league, that has upside Troy Smith, Matt Moore, Kevin Kolb, Tavaris Jackson, Jason Campbell (all under 27 years old and have the possibility of getting better)
3. Rookie QB
4. Trent or Fitz (whomever the new coaching staff feels could run their system)
A real competition in training camp would dictate the starter and backups. No one gets handed a thing.
You left out Hamdan

It'll be the same list that was speculated about on another Bills sports website
Vick
Derek Anderson
Jason Campbell
Bulger
Troy Smith
Espn insider is a joke. Anyone who pays for it is wasting their money.
That's the most accurate comment I've heard on here all week

Perhaps it is the announcement the Bills are leaving for LA... My hunch is Thurman is drinking again and is just making stuff up....
I don't get the sense that Thurman is on the know of happenings at One Bills Drive.
Brandon will have his sit down meeting with Ralph next week. They'll sit down with Fewell and make a decision on that front. And then will move forward with the GM search and coaching search.

Good move to put RJ in. Unlike Flutie, he did not fumble at the end of the playoff game at the goal line as Flutie did against the Dolphins. People seem to forget that one.
In the end, we have the same problems that we had ten years ago - bad offensive line. At least with that team, we also had a good defense.
I tried to forget that one, but you had to remind me didn't you!

This year's Saturday game may have to do with the fact that Thursday was Christmas Eve. So they played on Saturday, instead of Thursday. But who knows for sure

Last game of the year ... Hooray!

The TO signing epitomizes player personnel decision-making at 1 Bills Drive.
Signing TO was a brilliant marketing move. It generated a lot of buzz and season ticket sales.
But the on-field results were lacking.

I can't agree with you. Never root for your team to lose. You have a right to hope for whatever you want, but the sad thing is based on recent Bills drafting history, they usually draft someone who many football people think does not deserve to be taken that high. So there is a real possibility that they make the same player whether they draft 5th or 12th. Someone who others have listed much lower in value.
You play to win the game.
I don't drive 2 hours to the Ralph every second Sunday to hope the team loses. The objective of the game is to win, not to get draft picks.

I can think of a dozen players that need to be locked in a shed.
Let's start with the O-Line (minus Levitre and Wood, who get a rookie pass and for semi-decent effort). D. Bell can lead the way into the shed for all his false start penalties prior to going on IR
Edwards will start next year

Who?
In one of the weakest quarterback classes in years, who will that drafted "franchise qb"be?
