  1. Wow, scanning thru PFT i ran across this little article. tho i do understand his point i do think that the front office would still stand by thier own scouts referal over a ex player. just thought this was funny how anal the guy got over kelly puttin in his 2 cents. what do you all think. Flame away! A thank you note from a high-level scout Posted by Mike Florio on April 4, 2010 7:12 AM ET From time to time, we explain the dangers of allowing former players of a given franchise to chime in on the personnel decisions of the team for which they played. On Saturday, we addressed the specific perils of Bills quarterback Jim Kelly's decision to make public recommendations regarding whether Tim Tebow should receive an invitation to live and work in Buffalo. Said a high-level scout in response, "Guys like me that have committed our lives to our craft thank you, seriously. We desert our families and work our butts off to have clowns like this make a mockery of what we do." Still, we realize former players love the limelight. Whether it's scouting or acting or, in the case of some current players, ballroom dancing, they think that everything will come to them as naturally and easily as the sport for which they received an excessive abundance of God-given skill. When it comes to scouting (and, for that matter, acting), the player simply can't expect to show up and do it well. Even those who have a genuine aptitude for it, like Ravens G.M. Ozzie Newsome, have to spend years working at it, doing the thankless parts of the job -- the stuff that many former players would find either uninteresting or beneath them. Does Jim Kelly potentially have something of value to add to the Bills? Sure. Is it in the realm of picking players? Hell no. The sooner Bills fans figure that out -- and the sooner the powers-that-be who are running the team explain it to him -- the better off the franchise will be.
  2. [My only problems with this post is, yes those teams grabbed talented players. but i do believe if we had gotten them with the previous coaching staff they would be worse off than they r now too. jurons staff ,him included ,and the staff before them did nothing to bring our players along successsfully. its all hine sight. lets see what the new batch of coaches can do with them and go from there.
  3. does he have coaching experience in defense? i thought he was an offensive coach.
  4. Im actually pleasantly surprised. All seem to be pretty qualified . When they hired Juron my thoughts were he was hiring people with no real experience and none with a winning background. Im hoping for the best this time and hope they do well under good leadership and coaching. With guys that have a good track record.
  5. i agree with this. he works well with what he has. and hopfully brings in more wepons or actually use's people like hardy and steven jackson more....get rid of dead wieght is a must though. high salaries with no production has to go...
  6. in a heart beat if his arm/shoulder is healed
  7. Please tell me your kidding.... do people know the meaning of fan? win or lose i love my bills.....
  8. Ya know, this doesnt surprise me at all. i grew up in cali. and played ball on three levels. most of the players ive been around that grew up in the enviorment like lynch have that attitude. not because they r famous or a good player or not. its an intimidation thing. i've seen it alot and still cant stand that attitude to this day. i say trade him and bring in some one new. hell swap with the raiders for one of thier backs,,,lol put him back in oakland if he wants to be a thug!!!!!
  9. When asked about 2008 No. 11 overall pick Aaron Maybin, new GM Buddy Nix said "We try not to take guys who are one-year wonders; they'll get you in trouble." Nix was trying to say that if he was in charge last April, Maybin would not have been the pick. He started just 10 games at Penn State before declaring early for the draft and needs to put on a ton of weight. It's too early to call Maybin a bust, but he has to be considered a project at this point. The "pass rusher" had no sacks in limited snaps this season This was on rotoworld.... im sure almost half this board was saying the same thing last april.....Finally we seem to have someone with a brain up there in the front office.... I dont post much and usually just watch all you guys say what im thinkin but i figured i wanted to share this...
  10. ya i agree im gettin the same from ever site i try..considering how bad our team has been im surprised they shut everything down on the last week...lol anyone got any ideas?
  11. i tryed to find that site that the mod was talkn bout but its froze up so no dice guys... im just watchn nfl.com stats page play by play
  12. im gonna go out on a limb and say a surprise cut today would be Reed/Denny/and or kelsey
  13. Patriots inside linebacker Tedy Bruschi has decided to retire from football. He'll make the announcement Monday at 10:45AM ET (Bruschi -- barely sleeps in on retirement day). A 13-year career Patriot, Bruschi captained three Super Bowl winners, registered five 100+ tackle seasons, and was a Pro Bowler in 2004. The former college defensive end played inside linebacker, outside, and end in pass-rush situations throughout his career. His October return from an offseason stroke earned him Comeback Player of the Year honors in 2005. Bruschi will likely fall short of the Hall of Fame, but is a shoe-in for the Patriots' Ring of Honor and may have his No. 54 retired. Source: NFL.com This was just up on rotoworld, thank god we dont have to deal with him anymore. But, he is a great player in his own right. Wish him luck in his life after football.
  14. After watching video and seeing the pictures of ota's today. I realized that even after watching lee Evans and josh reed play for us for years. How small they r when put next to T.O. and James Hardy. People have been saying for years that we needed larger recievers and how they always got taken out of plays. I always just thought it was lack of talent. But when i saw josh and lee next 2 owens,. wow ok i get thier point.
  15. I bet Juron will bring in rex grossman. If i remember he drafted him. wouldnt mind him as a back up qb but not a starter.
  16. ---Rey Maualuga, ILB, USC ---Michael Oher, OT, Ole Miss ---Brian Orakpo, DE, Texas ---B.J. Raji, DT, Boston College ---Everette Brown, DE, Florida St. Well with this still left on the board. i could definatly see them taking Raji. But the more i keep thinkin about it. dont be surprised to see the bills take at least 3 defensive ends in this draft. much like they did last year on corners. Coach Moron Juron is a defensive coach , and he will want plenty of competition at the postition. mark my words. this will be a defensive heavy draft for us. they will look offense in Free agency, even if it is a hasbeen like they always do....
  17. I ran across this guys mock the other day. while his picks before us are little off target i think they actually made sense. he's also a bills fan so he might be alittle biased but i liked what he had to say regarding the bills. http://wnywatercooler.blogspot.com/2009/02...k-draft-10.html
  18. Quinn early was the last one i remember to have balls enough.
  19. Ohhh god no...! I'd s#%t a twinkie, and run for the hills.
  20. Havent heard anything at all. Has anyone heard anything or rumors?. I'd figure by now there would be atleast an idea of what the F.O. is gonna do. No e.s.p.n., sportscenter, rotoworld ? anything. I'd like to have something good to look forward to other than signing a good college scout ( Buddy Nix) from years past .
  21. Caldwell looked awsome. I would so take him in the second or third round.
  22. Watching his video clips i was impressed. But, watching him at senior bowl practices, he was just absolutly manhandled. Not sure im totaly sold on him. I seem to be leaning towards Caldwell from alabama. he looked good this week.
  23. I thought the same thing about boldin in college...and wow was i wrong about how that turned out...
