  1. They call a throw, which was fine, but when it was not there Trent had plenty of room to get the first down they needed and instead threw it away. In addition the int for the TD was just terrible..... If you have third and goal you throw it to the end zone, not an out with defenders there..... Just two horrendous plays for which there was no excuse. I like Trent, but call a spade a spade..... A bad game that we should have easily won that QB and play calling lost it for us.....
  2. I remembered a Saturday hearing him while I golfed alone wearing a walkman. It's one thing being a local talkshow host and talking about the Bills & Sabres, but to do it on a national stage is something else. He was not very good and had little to say......
  3. Here is the gem..... It was just watching the ease that some teams move the ball and that while we had a great first drive, we bogged down a while after that, were tentative around the goal line on our first fg and then indifferent until we needed the TD to win. I am very positive on this team, just would love to see the Bills not play the let's shorten the game, with long drives and eating the clock. When it works, it is great, I'd just like to know that this team can score 30 points on O. I think at home vs. Oakland, I'd like to see confidence in the offense. Piddling, but just my opinion. What exactly did I say here that is any different then what happened Sunday vs. the Phins??? The above was in reference to the Jax game where we scored a TD the first drive, were tentative around the goal line exactly like Sunday and then scored down the stretch to win. Sunday vs. Miami we should have had a TD the first drive and and did not score a TD the first half. I was responding to the post and stating that I am not Bi-polar and have been consistent. You actually proved my point. I appreciate that. I am overall very happy with Trent's play. As I complained before, it is the coaching that has been questionable in my opinion and I want a 300 yard game. 300+ is not a ridiculous number and 30 offensive points would not be too much either. Heck Tenn put up 25 in the second half yesterday with Kerry Collins (1 turnover in Indy territory).
  4. I thought the line had okay pass (not great) protection..... Stoopid me.....
  5. Where do you get JP???? Yes I wanted to see him succeed and he has not. I am happy with Trent but still want to see that big big game. He has all of 5 TD's this year. He has played well, just not as great as some are saying. 09/07 SEA 19-30 215 1 0 09/14 JAC 20-25 239 1 0 09/21 OAK 24-39 279 1 1 09/28 STL 15-25 197 1 1 10/05 ARI 3-3 18 0 0 10/19 SD 25-30 261 1 0 10/26 MIA 21-35 227 0 1 You want me to start complaining that he has less TD passes then almost every other QB in the NFL???? I won't but will bring it up when I say I want to see a little more. Check the stats of QB's this year vs. San Diego, Cutler, Delhomme (no Steve Smith and on the road), Pennington, Brees, Favre & Even Jamarcus Russell had very good stats against them. At home they only handled Matt Cassell...... Actually Edwards game vs. San Diego was one of the worst vs. SD this year with only 24 points scored if we want to be negative.
  6. Bi-polar..... Not me.... I have been consistent saying I want to see that big big game from Trent, see a more aggressive defense (more takeaways) and 4 quarters of football, not 4th quarter comebacks, which are fine but we can't count on every week. Nothing has changed outside it finally caught up to us Sunday....
  7. Unfair analysis and I hate Schopp.... Many people (actually most) who are great analysts and sports personalities were not great athletes in school and were probably more bookwormish , stats geeks and analysts even back then. In Toronto we had/have Chuck Swirsky & Dan Shulman to name just 2 of the best..... Neither were jerks and nothing like Schopp. Sullivan and Howard Simon are quite good and neither are/were athletes. Schopp however is just terrible and the Bulldog as the ex-jock every-man just refuses to stand up to Schopp or offer a contrarian opinion. Schopp is not that intelligent as a sign of intelligence is to be able to listen admit faults and learn. He has his script and will not deviate. For every insight he does make it is lost with his pounding the same point and not being objective at all.....
  8. Bang on.... Just a bad game, particularly the fourth quarter, though he was not sharp much of the game. Again though as I posted earlier the coaching staff somewhat suspect in their offensive play calling. What I am saying here in the context of Schopp is last week he went on and on about Edwards and the game vs. SD as the greatest game ever (and again he did not throw for 300 and multiple TDs) and he is mum this week outside his veiled shots against JP when he says the playoffs are a given as long as Edwards QBs.....
  9. Yes he was.... Am I upset at the loss.... Yes.... To absolve Trent is a joke and makes you no better then the JP "fanboys".... Again though I wonder as to the playcalling, the formations and decisions. No I am not piling on, just stating a fact that he was mediocre after the first drive and bad in the 4th. The fact that I say I want to see a definitive breakout 300+ game and 3 td's is not too much to ask imo.... I do blame the coaches though like I blamed them when JP qb'd for a lot of the errors.... 1. 3 Runs on first and goal 2. Not enough shot-gun when it did work 3. Not one throw to the end-zone the entire game 4. Too many check-downs 5. A lousy hand-off to Lynch from the shot-gun on a 3rd and three 6. No swing passes or throws to the backs out of the backfield (one screen drop by Lynch) Again 7 games (one injured) and only 5 TD passes is not MVP stats like some have stated..... The fact Schopp absolves TE after last week calling his performance the greatest ever, adds to my dislike....
  10. It's amazing how pompous and arrogant he is..... but the only game in town (or available here in Toronto).... The fact they ignore TE's bad game (and gloss over it) and just write off this game perplexes me.... They said that they could accept an Arizona loss as it was out of conference, on the road.... and as there will be losses this is one they'd rationalize. The fact JP played made them (Bulldog his lackey) ecstatic. Now TE has a very questionable game, making mistakes that we only thought JP made and they defelct all the blame and shrug their shoulders. As another aside TE seems to be reverting to some of those checkdown options that people questioned last year, with almost no mid/long passes yesterday (one underthrown, arm hit catch by Lee Evans). Bad games happen, the Defense, decision making and coaching I thought was questionable.
  11. Different game buddy..... Moving the ball down the field???? He was inconsistent, made a number of bad decisions and again did not put up a ton of points. No he was not terrible, just not very good and the result was a loss against a division foe. I was not impressed today.
  12. After last week and the superlatives heaped on Trent, today was a reality check. He has played very well this year, but not super. He only has 5 TD passes, 4 Ints and a # of fumbles. Today he did seem somewhat lost, and you wonder where the receivers were as there were few balls thrown to open receivers. Again I'd love to see a definitive 300 yard game and 3 TDs.... BTW Ted Ginn was wide open the entire day..... Oops and Chad Pennington put up better #'s much like I posted last week when I commented on how bad SD's defense is (btw Brees had well over 300 vs. SD today too), so the SD game may be one you take with a grain of salt. Anyone else listen to Schopp and the Bulldog try and dismiss the game and Trent's play as "no big deal" Let's pretend it was JP at QB.... What would have been the consensus? Not a good game in many respects and hope the Bills and TE learn something.....
  13. SD played everything perfect. They got LT by trading away the #1 pick to Atlanta (Michael Vick) and got Brees @ 32.... Worked very well.... Rivers worked out well and notwithstanding the bad int in the endzone on the weekend the game could have gone the other way. Frankly right now if anything the Chargers are weak @ WR, which will affect Rivers. The issue for both NO & SD is their defenses that are terrible...... Sunday in London will be a great game, wish it did not coincide with the Bills game.
  14. I saw that too, couldn't believe it. I saw little of the game but am sure they just kept trying to run it up as is their way.....
  15. That was the first bad game by Rivers in weeks. One terrible int and two fumbles. Before the int he was pass for pass with Edwards and doing it on the road with their best receiver Chambers out. Now revisionist history notwithstanding.... He was terrible for a quarter and a half vs. Seattle, played great fourth quarters vs. Jax & Oakland and was okay vs. St. Louis. This is not a knock against him (could be play calling, lack of consistent running game, blocking....). I just want to see that 300+ yard game that every decent qb has and lots of points.... Call me selfish..... Want to see it is in him and the team.
  16. Not arguing.... Yesterday our line did a great job protecting (though SD's pass rush has been bad)..... We got turnovers, which we haven't done of late. The D played very well and moving the chains was paramount. Don't be upset because I want to see some more yards and points does not make me a a terrible pessimist. As for WGR, they are just too much, and today they have been over the top in describing TE's play, but I wanted my Bills fix.
  17. Missing the point..... but that is not new on this board. I am exceedingly excited about this team, but want to see a few little things.... Not being negative, though some will argue. Maybe it is just listening to Schopp and his lackey (aka Bulldog), that makes me want to note that I want to see a little more offense and scoring, because we see that the potential is there.
  18. Want to see more points..... San Diego's defense is not good. We did a good job of ball control and this was the first game in a while where San Diego turned over the ball, so kudos to the defense. Listening to Schopp and the Bulldog go on about TE is just way over the top. I too am very excited about him, but can I ask for 300 yards passing and 30 offensive points? Why is it considered such a big deal to score 30 points on offense. Before you jump on me, check Miami's and Chad Pennington's #'s vs. SD two weeks ago..... 22/29 228 yards and 167 yards rushing and almost 37 minutes TOP almost identical to yesterday. I expect we consider TE better then Chad. I am thrilled about the team, but not ready to have them deep in the playoffs yet, though I certainly think we can play against and beat Tennessee (easily as their offense is just not good) and Pittsburgh (if we can contain Rothliesburg).....
  19. 6 of 7 132...... Lousy stats.... I think that says it all.... The negativity is mind numbing....
  20. Losman led scoring TD drives 2 of his 4 possessions the first half (including the last 2). There first drive of the second half had 4 handoffs and the inability to rush for 5 yards and a first down during that second set of downs. Afterwards Arizona converted 4-5 third downs scored a TD, Royal fumbled the first play and the game was over. There is no blame on Losman as we were then down 21 points through 3. I refuse to discuss a wasted 4th quarter.
  21. Agree to some extent, but on the Evans TD he did step up in the pocket. The issue is that yes he is slow making some decisions, but they set him up terribly by not using the shot gun enough and putting him in passing situations, and never having him roll the pocket. The second half was putrid and that was a result of bad playcalling the first drive. We score and it is 24-21, I think that could have changed the outlook. Instead we got one long run and followed up with 3 runs where we couldn't generate 5 yards (offside during the series).
  22. He also went after Jerry Sullivan yesterday and Jerry just refused to fire back. He is beyond interesting anymore as he is just such a blowhard. So set in his ways that he doesn't even listen to the caller and expects Bulldog to back him up. They remind me of Pinky & the Brain...... Schopp is insulting, nasty and so myopic. Why he does a talk show when he so obviously hates callers and considers himself so far above them amazes me.
  23. Do you remember the first quarter where it was 3 and out the first 4 drives? It was a very nice second and third quarter. I have turned the page and am happy to see TE progress and see what we have in him. I was very much concerned that come the third quarter the offensive scheme (particularly the first drive of the 3rd quarter) was putrid. Add to that the defense allowing third down conversions at will.... The fact Schopp intimated for 4 hours that he is smarter then everyone and that everything fed off Losman is preposterous. I saw the sacks and they were basically as bad as the one's vs. St. Louis the week before. Losman has to be in the shotgun more often as you are right he does not process things as quick as some other qb's.
  24. The playcalling has not been good this year. They have had a number of good 4th quarters. TE has played very well, but was terrible the first quarter vs. Seattle, indifferent after the first drive against Jax, terrible the first 3 quarters against Oakland and not very good against St. Louis. There is lots of room for improvement. Shopp then compounds his vindictive nasty comments by stating when TE went down he knew the game was over and was left thinking about what to make for dinner. He is just too smart knowing the result 3 plays into the game.
  25. Exactly their not so subtle shots at JP. The Bills did have a chance, just played bad and there was again conservative/uncreative play calling.
