  3. Week 1 Mon, Sep 14 @ New England Patriots* - Loss Week 2 Sun, Sep 20 Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Win Week 3 Sun, Sep 27 New Orleans Saints - Loss Week 4 Sun, Oct 04 @ Miami Dolphins - Win Week 5 Sun, Oct 11 Cleveland Browns - Win Week 6 Sun, Oct 18 @ New York Jets - Loss Week 7 Sun, Oct 25 @ Carolina Panthers - Win Week 8 Sun, Nov 01 Houston Texans - Win Week 9 Sun, Nov 08 BYE Week 10 Sun, Nov 15 @ Tennessee Titans - Loss Week 11 Sun, Nov 22 @ Jacksonville Jaguars - Loss Week 12 Sun, Nov 29 Miami Dolphins - Win Week 13 Thu, Dec 03 New York Jets (Toronto) - Win Week 14 Sun, Dec 13 @ Kansas City Chiefs - Win Week 15 Sun, Dec 20 New England Patriots* Win Week 16 Sun, Dec 27 @ Atlanta Falcons - Loss Week 17 Sun, Jan 03 Indianapolis Colts - Loss Threw in some curveballs, like losing at home to New Orleans yet winning in Carolina, just because you get some unexpected results every year. Not every team will be what you expect them to be now, and even if they are, teams don't play at the same level every single week. In typical Bills fashion, we have our share of ups and downs...start off 0-1 and 1-2, then take 4 out of 5 and go into the bye at 5-3. Then we drop to 5-5, then, as usual, get everyone's hopes up with a second-half surge, winning 4 in a row to reach 9-5...then drop two heartbreaking losses to miss out on the tourney, and finish up 9-7. At least we'll sweep the Fish, and split with the Patties*.
  4. Blake Costanzo is an underrated STer as well, he's always around the ballcarrier. I'd bet money they keep him, probably on Bobby April's word.
  5. I'm not sure thats what they mean by "voluntary."
  6. I am not gonna start with this one. You're either just trying to stir the pot, or you're denying to yourself how good these guys are, for whatever reason...you don't want to blame Edwards if things don't go right, you want Steve Johnson to get playing time, you don't want to get your hopes up because Buffalo has let you down too many times, whatever. If this is your honest opinion, that Steve Breaston and Jerricho Cotchery are the equivalent of Terrell Owens and Lee Evans, you just aren't seeing the issue clearly.
  7. This sounds about right. Maybe like 10 and 12ish, they seem like they'd be pretty close to each other.
  8. Somebody did it late in the draft last season, it was the first I had ever heard of it.
  9. Understood, thanks for the response.
  10. Tim, when you look at the Bills offensive personnel this year, it runs a lot deeper than it has in a long time. There are so many different skill position players you want to get onto the field-- 3 halfbacks, a fullback, 2 tight ends, 5 or 6 different recievers. I know you already wrote the story about the plans for a no-huddle package, and more spread (multi-WR) sets, and it was a fine piece. I wonder if you might have any further insight into how Schonert and company plan to make use of all this personnel. There have already been rumblings about Shawn Nelson splitting out wide on occasion, and the Bills began to explore last year with Lynch and Jackson on the field at the same time. I just wonder if you've heard anything about new wrinkles or formations to get all these guys onto the field, and get the most out of them. Thanks.
  11. I think your mind has greatly offensive thoughts for Mike Leach.
  12. As awful as Jauron is, I'd rather listen to him talk for 2 hours than Belichick for 5 minutes.
  13. Yes, coaches do "win" and "lose." Coach W/L records and winning percentage are both official NFL statistics. The coach is not on the field throwing, catching, kicking, running, blocking, covering or tackling...but he's even more important than any single player...he spends a whole week preparing 52 players and a dozen underling coaches to go win a game on Sunday. This is what people don't seem to understand. Things like timeouts, playcalling, challenges, 4th down decisions-- things classified as "gameday management"-- are a miniscule part of a head coach's job. Again, if a team wins a football game, it is in part because the coach got them prepared to play that particular opponent well enough for the players to be in a position to succeed. Additionally, if you're right and a coach doesn't "win", he can't "lose" either...because even if he did a poor job, its all up to the players, anyway.
  14. Nine wins is exactly what I've been expecting, but now I might have to change my prediction.
  15. Didn't gordong break the Stroud story before we heard it anywhere else? If not Stroud, it was something else. I remember we all told him to fck off.
  16. I can't answer for anyone else, but I was worried about it because of how aggressively the Bills pursued name running backs during the offseason...Fred Taylor, Deshaun Foster, Kevin Jones, before finally settling on Rhodes. It seemed a bit weird that they'd be so deadset on a running back who might only play during Lynch's suspension at the beginning of the year. That coupled with Freddie's age and the short shelf-life for RBs, had me a bit worried that the Bills had decided he wasn't worth it. I'm beyond relieved to find out that isn't the case. This guy can play, and we're a better offense with him.
  17. Uh...where in the article does it say Johnson's role to expand? Whats up with the thread title? Jauron didn't say this...all he said is "he will compete." Which isn't really saying anything at all.
  18. Me and LSI are in the Stadium Wall Chopper scoping the area, nothing yet! On a side note though, should I be a bit creeped out that every 30 seconds or so, LSI looks at me with a weirdass smile and gives me a thumbs up???
  19. Ellison's size is only "one of the gripes" about him among fans who don't understand what we're going for on defense. Its annoying to read over and over people complaining about weights, when these are the exact players we're supposed to be going after. We're trying to be the Buccaneers under Dungy/Kiffin, the Bears under Jauron. I'm sure you understand this. Anyone complaining about size just doesn't have their head in the game. Its a very small segment of the board, I think. Most fans realize we're going after smaller, quicker defenders who can fly to the ball. Most fans even grasp, amazingly, that players of the same weight can play at completely different levels. Further, its hardly worth pointing out that he played at 220 last year, when he lost that weight for the team, played at 240 most of his career, and can put some of that weight back on if given the word. Not that weight should matter, anyway.
  20. Great news, what a relief that text was. Go Bills!
