  1. The subject being whether or not one of your best offensive players--one of the franchise's all-time leaders--has a ****ty attitude and a maturity problem??
  2. One of the best Twitter accounts...ever. If you've seen this, feel free to ignore. If you haven't...enjoy (NSFW) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OkwVz_jK3gA
  3. Nobody's stopping you...(yet)
  4. If a guy shows up ten minutes late to work...it's a non-issue. If he takes a 90 minute lunch one day, it's a non-issue. If he does these things repeatedly, it's an issue. Stevie pulls this crap repeatedly.
  5. I completely agree. But that doesn't stop the machine from spinning it negatively, and that was the point.
  6. Well, there is a need to nitpick, because the argument against those who dislike what the tweet represents is "oh lighten up, there's no need to be offended--" when those two things are wildly different. I'm not offended. I don't believe Stevie's some kind of hateful warmonger, I don't believe he has any genuine ill will against Koreans, and I fully understand he was trying to make a joke. What the critics (myself included) have said, is that so long as Stevie keeps drawing negative attention to himself and the team (again, I've already stated that whether it's right or wrong to view this negatively is irrelevant since it has--for obvious, though regrettable reasons--upset others) and so long as he wants to be a "leader" so long as he wants to be the "face of the franchise" so long as he makes boneheaded drops and isn't the best damn receiver IN THE LEAGUE and only the best receiver on the team with the historically long playoff drought, than he needs to MAN UP and shut his mouth.
  7. Disliking and being offended by the tweet are two entirely different things, so...those reading skills... Ah...well, I don't have the time or the energy to stay up with that ****!!
  8. Which Bills fans were offended?
  9. Yes, If he was intentionally pissing people off, then I'd say he's a 26-year-old lost cause in the maturity department... Have people in this thread expressed their personal outrage at his comments?
  10. See above. The argument seems to be "nobody should care" vs. "this something to care about." My paycheck stays the same, my mortgage bill still arrives the same time every month and my health remains unscathed, so really I don't care. But if Marrone/Russ were to care, I'd agree that they have a right to.
  11. Hey, I just had a little time out too! And why care? It's not up to me to care or not, it's up to his coaches/employers, and I say they're justified in "caring." Others don't think so. This. And this.
  12. Again, not the letter of the offense but the spirit. Stevie's not a comedian, he's a football player. I'm on record--on this board--as being staunchly against taking offense to anything. But saying folks are wrong to take offense does not eliminate the reality that they will. Stevie is well aware of the scope of his platform (Twitter). He must--at some point--learn that he simply can't do this without inviting scrutiny. And...again...my problem is that Stevie keeps finding new ways to invite scrutiny. I don't particularly have a problem with any of his shenanigans (weight-gate not withstanding). But other people do, he's got to learn that, and until he does, his behavior (IMO) is immature and reckless.
  13. The guy is a lunatic. Bobby Knight is the exception to the rule. Can anyone imagine a universe where Coach K or Wooden would pull this crap, and behave this way? Nuff said.
  14. The manufactured outrage to this is silly. I'm not offended by it and I question those who claim to be. What bothers me about it is that Stevie's using his megaphone again for shenanigans. And it's just more of the same immature "playfulness" that--whether right or wrong--can be and has been skewed in such a way that Stevie and the Bills-by-proxy come out of it with a PR black eye, having to issue apologies, have to answer questions, all that nonesense. Again, I'm not validating said nonesense, I'm just wondering when Stevie will wake up and stop inviting it.
  15. Nothing than the message board participant who chastises fans for being too invested.
  16. Unfortunately you can't make these comments round here without being flamed to death. I'm inclined to agree with you, though I would have toned my rhetoric just a bit... When the Bills cut Lee Evans everyone outside Bills Nation (who isn't an NFL junkie) said: "Who's Lee Evans?" And if not for: ***Serious-gate Happy-gate Why-you-do-me-gate (and) OT-drop-gate (by proxy) Workout-gate Bomb-gate They'd be saying the same thing about Stevie Johnson. Because those things, and not his on-field performance, have put him on the national stage. My whole point during workout-gate was that there is a pattern to Stevie's behavior. And here we go again. I've said it before, and until he does something to prove otherwise: he needs to grow up and get serious. I've heard all the arguments about his 3 x 1K seasons, all that stuff, and that's all well and good, but it has nothing to do with what I"m talking about here. so please spare me. I'm not saying he's a poor player and that he doesn't contribute on Sunday's, but for a guy who has publicly said he wants to be the face of the franchise, he's doing a helluva job ensuring that if that were to happen, it would be for all the wrong reasons. **the 'gate' suffix was intentionally annoying.
  17. Ha, but in the meantime there's one more point we have disagree about--I don't understand yours!
  18. In other news, this guy is at OBD today...
  19. I've decided Dork is either a staunchly committed troll or the most miserable person on the face of the planet (albeit not mutually exclusive from troll). Either way, the ignore function be thine friend.
  20. Duh. All the reasons why the 2015 QB class is superior to the 2014 one.
  21. The foolishness of this has been well hashed out in this thread already. So I guess you and me will do a couple more laps on it now. You can't put an image of the Lombardi Trophy in your practice facility if you haven't already won one. Are you not allowed to say Lombardi Trophy either? Can the gift shop sell cookie-cutters in the shape of Lombardi Trophies? Can the office dog be named Lombardi? Precisely where does the banning of all things Lombardi trophies begin and end for half of the current franchises who have yet to win won?
  22. My junior year of high school, I played on a state championship team. We had returned all our starters from the year before including me and another junior, and the rest seniors. That entire off season, and right up until the final game we were constantly re-stating our goal, talking about what it'd take, who we'd face--reaffirming to ourselves that nobody wanted it more than us, and nobody was more deserving than us. Why? Because our coach assured us of one thing: talking about winning will do absolutely nothing to guarantee we will. But not talking about, will guarantee that you won't. Anything you can do to crystallize and constantly remind yourself of the "goal" is worth doing. End of story.
  23. Well may be the boys in the lab aren't finished cooking up the players to fill these "way bigger needs." Precisely who should we have signed instead of Branch>
  24. So, aside from being a member of the NFL, thereby working toward the annual goal of earning an actual Lombardi, precisely what do we have to do to "earn" a banner of a Lombardi trophy? Nearly verbatim. Nicely said, BBB.
