1. Whatever happened to the good old fashion way of meeting a girl at a bar, getting her liqoured up & then taking her home.

These sites you never know who your dealing with. I mean you go out with a girl from one of these sites, you wine her, you dine her, you take her back to your apartment & feel her up & the next thing you know is your holding a tree trunk. No thanks.

  2. Sabres are a bonafide Playoff Team with our best chance to win a world championship.

    862730

Look man, Im a sabres fan to but any reasonable person can not compare the signifigance of the NFL to the NHL. It is in 2 different leagues. I will go as far as saying I think it would mean more on a national lever for the city if the bills just made the playoffs then the sabres winning the stanley cup.

  3. Just his usual nonsense. You know, "the only thing that I took from today's game is what a joke the Jets are," and busting on the league for parity. He also said something about Losman being very inaccurate today.

It's funny, he completely overlooks the fact that his beloved NHL also has unpredictable and even peculiar results, such as the Panthers beating the Sabres. Yet, while it makes hockey 'interesting,' it makes the NFL mediocre. He is such a schill for the network; you'd think that there has to be two guys in town more adept to talk sports than those morons

I had it with schope. It is so obvious he does not like the nfl. He said that the pass to evans for the td wasnt even a particular good pass, that he just threw it up there. I thought it was a perfect throw, hitting him right in stride. He even lambasted a caller because the caller had the nerve to say that the nfl is better now because you never know who is going to win unlike the late 80s/90s where you knew it was going to be pretty much the cowboy/49ers in the nfc & the bills in the afc.

  4. to play devils advocate, the Bills were 6-0 in their last 6 games at one point in Mularky's first year and that didnt turn out too well

I do however think this team is finally heading in the right direction but they still have a lot of holes to fill and are probably two years away at least. You cant build and O-line and a D-line in one offseason not to mention the problem they could have with LBs....do they replace one of or both Flecther and Spikes

    862728

There is a big difference between that team & this team though. That team was built around aging over the hill players with their best years behind them(adams, bledsoe, milloy, moulds etc...). The core group on this team is young players that should only get better next year. We are watching this team grow up right before our eyes

  5. I think the writing is on the wall thta next year will be Willis' last in a bills uniform. Why would the bills after next year give willis a big contract when he has a blown out knee infury & has had 4yrs of wear & tear on him when they could draft a someone for alot cheaper & without the wear & tear.

  6. Yep, moving this game means I won't be coming down from Toronto now. It also means these are the last tickets I ever buy for the Bills.

I am sick of this crap.  :)

    858889

Why dont next year you just buy tickets before the flex schedule kicks in? Think people, think.

  7. I know it is hard but this team is heading in the right direction. I wouldnt be surprised if they beat the jets next week. Anybody at the last 2 games could attest that there is a totally different atmosphere at the ralph this year then compared to the Donahoe years. With another good solid draft & some key free agent signings, I think this team is well on their way. For the first time in a long time, this team finally has a good solid foundation of young players to build around(Losman, Evans, Peters, Simpson, Whitner, Triplett etc....)

You may have noticed I did not include Willis. Im sorry, but this guy has got to be the most overrated player by the fans in bills history. He is not a top 5 back, he is not a top 10 back, he is not even a top 20 back. Next year, when he goes down to the U to train, the bills should tell him to dont bother coming back up. I really think next year, you trade him for the highest draft pick you could get, hopefully a 2nd rounder, but my guess is a 3rd or early 4th rounder. Worst comes to worse, you go into the season with a-train as your #1 back. They are more efficient offense with him in there anyways

  8. Just offering a simple suggestion that most can follow - there are 2 buttons on your radio - the first, depending on the make and model, is marked either "Power" or "On/Off"; the second, on most sets, is marked "Tuning" - I've found that adjusting either one of those solves the WGR problem.

Schoop is a freakin' idiot, and WGR is the worst excuse for sports radio you will ever hear.

    851488

I agree, shcoop has said on numerous times that he really isnt even a sports fan & that he really despises the NFL. Why does he have a job on sports radio, I have no idea. I used to listed to WGR all the time, now I maybe listen to them 1hr every couple weeks.

  9. If the bills were 10-1(which is equivalent in football terms what the sabres start has been) nobody would be talking about the sabres right now. They keep drilling home the blackout & trying to figure out why there is not a sellout. Simple, 6 dreadful years of football has made the fan base skeptical. Here is the deal, in this area you have imo about 60,000 fans that are die hards & will go to the staduim no matter what. The rest are wait & see type. I guaranty if they end up 8-8 or 9-7 which should make them one of the favorites next year, the season will be pretty much sold out before the year even begins.

  10. I'm sick of hearing how the economy of WNY is keeping Bills fans away...christ, Rockpile seats are $27 each...and people are pretty much GIVING them away on eBay.

Its easy to toot horns and say how great Bills fans are when things are going well...look how :bag: Green Bay is, they're a small market, but they have no problem selling out.

Its time to put your money where your mouth is...I'm not rich by any means, but I'm personally responsible for 5 of the seats in the stadium being filled this weekend.  Make it happen or STFU.

    851022

I totally agree with this point. WNY isnt the back woods of Alabama. People do make money here. If you dont agree with me, go to any of the three casinos in this area. People are spending their kids college fund on a nightly basis there.

  11. Please... let's stop this silliness.  Why does one need the media in order to validate one's existence?

There's a big difference between reality and fantasy. The Bills rank 21st in defense and 29th in offense.    If you want to really feel silly... go bet your house on the Bills.  Not that it takes a brain surgeon to figure this one out, but, the Bills are not going to the playoffs this year.  Not pissing in your corn flakes... just the doc being the doc.... 'tellin it like it is and keepin it real'.

    849771

    screw you

  12. hahaha ... OK! Sounds like you are more willing to justify 3 hours of watching a football game for a week of watching your family struggle with monetary problem. Hate to break it to you, but including the PSL, a Bills season ticket is nearly 1/4 year of rent.

The NFL will not force a team to move. The Bills have ZERO chance of moving until Ralph Wilson dies and many believe (including those inside the company) believe Tom Golisano will make a bid to buy the Bills after Wilson dies.

    844986

There are no PSL on bills season tickets & $440 is nearly a 1/4 year of your rent. Where the hell do you live in a cardboard box in the fruit belt???

  13. Satellite's reception is affected by weather, I have seen it first hand. Don't let anyone make you think different.

$ervice calls are very expensive $$$, they may even take 4-5 days to get to you.

No local channels here with a dish

Nope I don't get the NFL Network, I guess I'll miss one game this year. From what I hear, it's nothing great anyways.

With the NFL package, if your team is being played by the local channel the NFL package will black out that game so in reality, you don't get EVERY NFL game.

It's not for me...........my brother had it and I have friends who live in the country and WISH they had Time Warner Cable. People will tell they have no problems with reception but most of the guys I work with ALL have had reception problems. Maybe it's the weather here in northern NY, I don't know. Maybe nobody around here knows how to install them. You will hear all the excuses why it goes out.

My cable has gone out maybe once in the last 2 years. My service calls are free and I can upgrade my equipment for free.

My NFL lineup this week............on cable. I don't even have to pay an extra 200.00 a year for it, it's amazing!

    1PM, WNYF: Bears @ Jets

    1PM, WWNY: Bills @ Texans

    4PM, WWNY: Indy @ Dallas

    8PM, WSTM: S.D. @ Denver

    8PM, ESPN: NYG @ Jags

    839691

No offense but you couldnt be more wrong. When getting the NFL Ticket, your game in your local area is not blacked out, it is simply not on the channels designated for the ticket (700-714). It will appear on your local station. Like the bills game will be on ch 4, not on 706 where it is designated for the ticket.

2nd, the service very rarely goes out & when it does it is usually for 5 minutes. Ive had it for 5 yrs now & it will go out maybe 2 times in the summer(when heavy rain comes) for 5 minutes & when wet snow comes(in this case all yoyu have to do is go out with a brush & dust off the dish. This uusually happens in 1 a season when we get that last april snowfall which is wet snow).

Here is the thing, if you like sports, Direct tv is the only way to go. It gives you the ticket, college gameplan, option to get every NCAA tournament game for March Madness, plus for an extra $10 you get like every Fox sports net channel which shows late night pac 10 games & other West coast college games that cable simply does not offer. Oh yeah, if your a Mets fan(which Iam) you also get their network which carried 120 of their games this year. Cable doesnt offer that either.

Now your going to be missing out every thursday night for the rest of the year on NFL games. But you stick with your cable, Im sure you will be very happy.

BTW, that lineup you put out sucks, get the ticket you cheap bastard, you could watch all the games. It is a gambler's dream!!!

  14. Third round at best, perhaps, but they blew a first-rounder to get him because they panicked after they dumped Hoss and Simms faded out. The point is valid.

Young didn't have a chance to draft Elway; Baltimore's 0-8-1 record locked up the #1 pick. Accorsi DID draft Elway for Baltimore, then walked away from the Colts when Irsay traded him to Denver. Young had nothing to do with it.

    838483

    Your right, my fault.

I knew accorsi was the gm that was involved in the trade though. Thanks for the correction.

  15. I think the Texans are probably about a 3 point pick mainly because they are home. If the Bills offense manages another 250 yard game this week then they should just blow it up.  I think the D will play respectable like they usually do and will give the O a couple short field situations.

    837623

BTW, I would be thrilled with a 250 yard game. That would be a major improvement. I dont think this team is capable of racking up more then 200 yards in a 4 quarter football game.

  16. Yeah if I see Losman throw for another 80 yards I think Im done watching them for the rest of the season & I have season tickets. I will probably still go to the games but I will just stay in the parking lot & drink during the game. 3 of the 6 guys I go with already do that anyway & actually make fun of the 3 of us that still go into the games. Man it is depressing to be a bills fan right now.

  17. ...says the man who won a Super Bowl with third-rounder Jeff Hostetler at QB, then let him walk and subsequently wasted their 1993 first-round pick by drafting Dave Brown in the 1992 supplemental draft...

    837859

That is a horrible arguement against my point. If the bills & the giants played 10 times that year the bills would of won 9 of them with their franchise qb.

You cant be serious bringing David Brown into the discusion. If he entered the regular draft, he would of been a 3rd round pick at best.

Yeah, G Young & Ernie Accorsi know a little bit about passing on a franchise Qb. They had a chance to get a guy named John Elway. Dont think they didnt regret that.

  18.

Hahahaha!  I see this every year.  Every college QB with gaudy stats is the next franchise QB.  Meanwhile, some guy you never heard of gets drafted in the 6th round (Tom Brady) and becomes a three-time Super Bowl MVP.

I think if you look at the drafts you'll see the there are more unheralded college QB's who succeed at the NFL level than guys who come out of the hype machine, like Quinn and Leinert.

I'm not saying the Bills shouldn't draft a QB.  Just don't assume when you draft the kid everyone is hyping that you picked a winner...especially if he's gona play behind our O-line!!!  B-)

Lets put your theory to the test. These are the teams that if the season ended now would make the playoffs:

    AFC

New England (Brady - 6th round)

    Denver (Plummer - I think 3rd round)

San Diego (Rivers - high 1st)

    Indy (Manning - 1st overall)

    Baltimore (Mcnair - high 1st)

Jacksonville (Leftwitch - high 1st) I know gerrard is starting now but still

    NFC

New Orleans (Brees - 1st in 2nd round)

    Chicago (Grossman - low 1st)

    NYG(Manning - 1st overall)

    Seatle ( Hasselback - I think 5th or 6th)

    Atlanta (Vick - 1st overall)

    Phily (Mcnabb - high 1st)

out of the 12 teams that are going to make the playoffs 9 have qbs selected in the fisrt round. Even more shocking, 7 out of 12 were top 10 picks.

I think it is pretty obvious, if you get the franchise qb, alot of the other stuff usually falls in place. Got to draft quinn if he is on the board.

  19. Quinn is over rated! The only good thing about drafting Quinn is that he will be given more patient by the media and fans because he played at a big time university. If after 17 starts and he puts up the exact numbers but played in the same situation as JP, completing 60% of his passes but getting sack every other down, there would be more talk about building a better O-line around him and giving him more targets; etc and about giving him time to develop in the next 2,3 seasons; you know how most teams do when they draft a QB in the 1st round; give them time to develop.

But just our luck it won't happen that way; Quinn would hold out, come in late and allow JP to stick around. And then finally the light bulb goes off for JP, as itdoes for most QB's in their 3rd year. He plays lights out and were stuck with paying a 1st rd QB big time money to sit on the bench!

    837227

It seemed to workout alright for San Diego.
