  1. His fundamentals are flawless in my opinion. I see the zip as well, and his footwork is perfect. He's going to be fun to watch, especially as he gains confidence in the system. Here's to hoping Shonert and his system sticks around for a few years so we can actually have a QB who can audibilize in a second nature when he sees a defensive flaw thrown at him. That ability comes with time, continuity, and stability....changing OC's every year is so tiresome and really hurts a young QB's development.
  2. Could not agree more. At work, email is the (monitored, Big Brother) DEVIL! Outside of work, Myspace is its equivalent (especially for people in committed relationships). My friends who have girlfriends/wives, I tell them to avoid it like the plague as I do.
  3. My major issue with this post is the use of the word "if" in the title...please enter "when."
  4. Woke up an hour or so ago, and after making my morning cup of coffee, I sat down at my laptop. I then went through what I would consider my "cpu fundamentals." Naturally and without giving anything second thought, similar to stretching before you get on the treadmill, as follows...twobillsdrive.com, cnn.com, my email in that order. Does anyone think that a psychotherapist would have a field day with an individual's web site preferences; a person more concerned with the status of his hometown football team (during the offseason) than that of what's going on in the world news; a higher concern for that same football team over business or personal communication with colleagues, and/or friends and family? Just wondering if I need some sort of Bills addiction rehab...? Strength in numbers. Go Bills.
  5. From your mouth to God's ears, but those are LOFTY goals for a rookie TE. Check out his career stat line: http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/player/profile?playerId=134198
  6. I am on just about the same exact page as you, except I am a bit concerned about all of the losses that we have suffered on our special teams unit. Those guys were staples for years (Stamer, Haggan...etc), and their efficiency in playing the field position game through solid coverage kept us in games that sometimes we had no business being in...plugging youngsters in that have athleticism without experience scares me a bit; but then again, that's why they gave Mr. April a raise and the Associate's title, so here's to the Bills kickin a** this year in every phase! Go Bills.
  7. I believe that the entire Bills Defensive Secondary is going to be the surprise of 2008. Reason being, Stroud clogging up the middle on 1st and 2nd down, thus (hopefully) the Bills are better vs the Run. That being said, I think we will have offenses in 2nd and 3rd & long a lot, so Schoebel will be able to pin his ears back and REALLY rush the passer while we mix in some nice blitzing schemes the way Perry Fewell likes to...all benefiting our Defensive Backfield that is looked at as young, thin, and a weakness...I think it will be a surprising strength. From a rookie standpoint, I like the position Chris Ellis is in as well, and he looks great in those youtube videos.
  8. Hey, great post, and I apologize for my skepiticism, but let's be honest, Modrak hasn't exactly lit it up in the late rounds the last few years. I am just skeptical of a kid we've never heard of, from a school we've barely heard, that we pick up in the 7th round while looking at him as a potential position change/project. I hope he comes in and gives us "McKellar/Rolle" like play, I really do. But like any business, being good, or great at something is all about specializing. We can't ask young rookies to do a lot of things at a high level, we need to concentrate on certain aspects of their game that will help us win in specialization rolls and ask them to do the little things great...if he blocks good, teach him to block great...if he catches passes good, teach him to catch passes great...etc. Specialize. We can't spread him thin and hope a 7th round unknown is gonna win even one game for us this upcoming year. Here's to hoping he makes the squad, but he certainly isn't Steve Tasker multi-purposeful.
  9. All the talk of this Bell kid is unreal. He's in the first round of cuts guys, c'mon now. From this trail of posts, this guy has the flexibility and talent to rush the passer, take over right tackle (a la Peters at left tackle), block punts, and catch TD's as a pass-catching tight end...are we being serious here, or is this all sarcastic? The poor kid didn't have the Mailman around to be a father, and he's limited in comparison to NFL talent...he wasn't a project pick, he was a shot in the dark...if he doesn't come in and light it up from the get-go, he's a goner; and fast.
  10. GREAT POST! Positive mental attitude, I like it! I'm agreeing with you, our team looks tough, especially with the big polock comin back in the middle. Love it. Go Bills!
  11. Let's not forget, not being able to stop the run, or stop teams on third down and get off the field.
  12. Just go to Youtube and search Marv Levy. There's a lot for you. http://www.youtube.com/results?search_quer...mp;search_type= Best of luck!
  13. I agree. I love the Bills draft this year, they drafted on need in the 1st couple rounds, and then went for depth (to install competition) at each position. Drafting lineman late in the draft has not worked for us the last few previous drfats at all. Reading the bio on Onom tells me he will have the desire to make this team and provide for his family. The Bills lost a large contingent from our special teams, and these guys were good special teamers...if its true that that phase is 33% of the game, then I don't mind looking for great athletes late in the draft to come in and contribute in ST and then push the starters in practice. James Hardy is going to be fun to watch for a long, long time in a Bills jersey; Evans has got to be smiling ear to ear this morning, and this should help us in trying to extend him because now he knows he won't see as many double teams.
  14. He's great on the radio here in Chicago on ESPN 1000, "Waddle and Silvy"
  15. Nichols. http://www.nicholsschool.org/our_program/a...asp?teamId=7355
  16. I agree to a point. I am sure there is a lot of movement going on behind the scenes that we will never know about, but if all of the draftees started signing and dropping one by one, it would kind of ruin the spirit and excitement of the draft imo.
  17. They are not allowed: ESPN's Chris Mortensen reported on Tuesday that the St. Louis Rams, who hold the second pick in the NFL draft, were told today by the NFL management council that they do not have permission to begin negotiations with any player now that the Dolphins have signed Long. A league spokesman said there have been internal discussions to determine whether the Rams have the right to negotiate with a player or players. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/draft08/news/story?id=3358424
  18. We are going defense with our 1st rd pick. Our offensive production says we should go offense, but there isn't anyone worth a damn that we should take at 11...we're going CB, or DE...we can improve on "O" in rounds 2-4... Just my opinion, but I think it should be obvious by now to all of us rabid Bills' fans...Kelly's a scrub, and Thomas is unproven... The Bills are going defense guys, c'mon.
  19. No way. The NFL has become about local business sponsorship, and selling the mid-level luxury suites. The Bills will always sell out (general admission and a solid season ticket foundation), but we get hurt in the revenue generated by local businesses because we can't sell those suites...we have none stepping up and then the media blames it on the local economy. Ingram should step up...Sportservice (Jacobs) should step up, Praxair should step up, Geico should...etc. These are healthy companys. I say raise ticket prices. They are building it, and we will/have come. The Bills are trying...they are signing players and active in the community! The players play hard, and they all actively recruit other players to tell them what a great place it is to live and play...Stop saying you have the "most affordable" gameday experience, and raise the ticket prices at least to mid-level within the NFL because we are not getting local businesses support. There are indeed businesses in the Rough Buff, but no one steps up. The Bills have the lowest ticket prices in the league, and when our owner gripes about profits and losses, we as fans call him cheap? Ralph Wilson should be looked at as a saint in the town of Buffalo IMO. The team is beloved, the history is rich, and the players generally behave. If the businesses dont want to step up, leave it to us the fans, and raise the ticket prices; screw Toronto...lets all generate some revenue and get some dope players in here to win a Super Bowl on our own.
  20. I will be in the 2nd best place watching this game, other than the game itself, VEGAS at the Mandalay sports book (company trip). Whoooo hooo! Rule #1 as a Bills fan, never bet on the Bills...looks like I will be breaking the number one rule....again! Its just too fun!
