Haven't they said several times that Shady is firmly in their plans for 2019? I know things can  be fluid in this business but I think it'd take quite the offer for them to move him.

I believe Beane has said, "Shady is a big part of our plan" for 2019.

If we want to break down GM speak, he could mean Shady is a "big part" of their plan because he is being traded and that returned asset is valuable.

He knows what opportunities exist when teams contact him.  You have it backwards.

Maybe I worded it poorly. What I'm saying is, he's getting his FA visits out of the way and now he has his rankings of where he wants to play.  Teams A, B, and C say they want to sign him if they don't draft a RB. Team B drafts someone, leaving Team A and C. Now he can make his decision because he has all the info he needs.

    Ding ding ding.

I think the same thing. Yeldon probably wants to test the waters to see which RB-needy teams don't address RB in the draft. That way he knows the what opportunities exist for which teams.

Poyer is coming up soon and due a big raise. When you look at cap distributions per position in this case Safety (IIRC we are right about Average), Hyde is our expensive guy and Poyer is the cheap one whose raise would push him higher than Hyde - expect to see us not resign him...

I get that, but we have Poyer for two more years (this year and next), and Hyde for three more.

With a team devoid of top-tier talent at many positions (ex: DL), I'd find it surprising for them to spend a premium pick on a player who we don't need starting for another two years.

  5. Breaking out the pre-draft visits by projected draft round (I posted this in another thread):

    1: WR, OT, DT (x2), DE (x4), S
    1-2: WR (x2), OT CB, S
2-3: RB, TE, C, OT, CB
    3-4: TE, DE
    4-5: OL, DT, DE, LB
    5-6: CB (x2)
    6-7: TE

    A couple notes:
    • You can tell that adding a blue chip DL prospect is a definite priority for them, considering that 20+% of their visits thus far have been spent on D-linemen projected to go in the top 20 picks.
    • It's interesting that they're spending time meeting with safeties projected to go in the first two rounds. I didn't think of it as a need, especially with two entrenched starters, but perhaps they're looking to have 3 safeties on the field more often?

I'm curious to see how they allocate their remaining 5 visits.

I personally don’t think he is amazing. I just don’t think he is as bad as he has been made out to be. Also with where they played him last season (on the perimeter and in the slot I really think they have confidence in him. He’s a movable piece and understands his responsibilities. But Robert Foster I think has a bigger role this coming season. I just think with Beasly and Brown that Zay is still in their top 4 WR’s.

But we we can agree to disagree. It will be interesting to see how this off-season shakes out. It wouldn’t shock me if they draft a WR. I just think they draft a TE higher than WR. My personal feelings obviously. I’ve been wrong a lot in life. Lol

Worth noting that Zay Jones played in 88.9% of the offensive snaps last season. The next closest were Robert Foster (42%) and Kelvin Benjamin (48%).

I'm sure this is in some thread somewhere, but what's the issue w/ Spain?  Why hasn't anyone signed him, why is he only worth a 1 year deal??

Pretty sure Titans fans said he's very good at pass blocking, but below average in run blocking... and that 2016 was his best year, but he wasn't so good the last two years.

Atlanta has one, also not opened on Sunday. But the rest of the week? Always a line when I would go by it when traveling through there.

    This is AWESOME. Thank you!

Overall, it's about what I expected, although I wonder what was so enticing about that Miami game for people to show up in droves. Expats home for the holidays who wanted to see a game? Dirt cheap tickets? People needing a break from seeing their families? The simple fact that it was Miami? The last game of the season? Lots of variables going on there.

Agreed - I think it's gone too far.

Additionally, I don't see this contradicting McDermott's plan in any capacity, nor does it indicate that they're admitting any sort of "mistake."

I may be missing something, but how do nine teams have over 100 percent? How do the Chargers fit 121.4% into their stadium.
(Note: The Rams are 31st in the league while the Chargers are 1st.)

I'm confused by that also. Here's a quote from USA Today about it:

    Quote

The Bills finished the 2018 season 6-10 overall and most expected that step back. That step back caused 2.7 percent drop in attendance at New Era Field this year as well.

According to Pro Football Reference via the Buffalo News, Buffalo’s total attendance this season stood at 519,695, averaging 64,962 per game, which was 21st best in the NFL. Last season’s 9-7 playoff drought-breaking run saw 534,200 pass through the gates of New Era Field.

While a passionate fan base, one can’t blame Bills Mafia for perhaps tapping out a bit at the end of the season, too. Buffalo played three of their final four games at home this season.

Fact: it is cold in December.

I'd love to see the attendance on a game-by-game basis.

So Bills games would be louder. That's bad?
