  1. we do business with this company; www.bjservices.com/ you hear a lot of "how is that bj job coming?" around the office.
  2. I think they all three are on the team. Brown ends up on the practice squad. However Edwards is at the most risk. You know what you have with Fitz and I think Gailey will like his mobility. Brohm has that "what if" factor that keeps him around. Edwards, you know what you have so you know what your losing.
  3. i would be surprised if kelsay gets cut. he is not a disaster.
  4. if we go to a 3/4 the lineup could look like this DE Williams NT Stroud DE Kelsay OLB Schoebel/Maybin ILB Poz/Mitchell
  5. Art Still for least agile. honorable mention...Jeff Posey
  6. nice analysis except I think we need a LT. not confident bell is the answer. I say OL/LB/DL/WR/ are the biggest area of in that order. QB is is lower on my list because i dont think there is anyone at the top that is worth taking this year. i think we can pick up a WR in FA. I would pick OL/LB with first 2 picks. easier to get productive players in those rounds.
  7. he is starting to grow on me. check out some of the youtube videos of him in interviews. he reminds me of tony dungy on how he carries himself. whats more important is who he brings in as OC. our defense, while not great, is good and would be better if we had a offense that was respectable. so draft a LT/LB as the first two picks and try and get a QB in the 3rd round. i still think brohm has a lot of upside. live arm and quick release and he even said he likes the cold!
  8. Hmmm...usually you can get his most recent shows on the audio vault...conspiracy?
  9. A more objective analysis would be to limit yourself to the 5 players after they picked in round that round. Its easy to cherry pick the best from each round. You have to think of who they needed at the time or a similar player (Whitner vs Ngata or Maybin vs Orakpo) to gauge how they did. Remember that Kelly was our 2ND first round pick when we picked him. In the end it all comes down to the results on the field which is the most objective measure of how they did.
  10. Mike Hamby - Wrote those children books with Darby the Dinosour
  11. I've heard and read about all the bills FA losses/Trades this year. I really have no problem with any of them. These guys are the same "star" players that got us what over the last 5 years? A bunch of losing seasons. Remember when spikes boasted about the D possibly being better than the Ravens best D? That ended up being pretty accurate huh? In the end, most of these guys were talkers and not doers. I am ready for a change. I am looking forward to this season. Now if the Sabres could just do what they are supposed to do and beat the islanders already.
  12. Just as we will be spending "Cash to the Cap" (~109 Million), there is also "Cash under the cap" or what the actual salary outlays are for this year. Does anyone have that number? Say for example it is 50 Million, the bills would theroretically have 59 million in cash to pay for new salaries. So if we were to sign clements this year and he gets a 15 million bonus plus say 3 million in salary, that would take our available cash to spend down to 41million. Our actual cap number would be adjusted by some number less that than. I don't think things are as bad as people make them out to be. Sure the bills are not going to spend $150million in salaries, but I believe in the law of diminishing returns, such that the higher amount of money you spend on players, the returns you get decrease as you spend more.
  13. I can't believe your on the buffalo bills message boards looking for advice. How about getting a second opinion from a sports doc ortho? For the record I just had ACL surgery and the MRI showed no torn cartlige, but when the doc went in he found cartlige torn in 4 places. Three on my meniscus.
  14. I think Lori did a great job stating the facts and the reasons why reed SHOULD be in the HOF. To bad she does'nt have a vote. I think Swann was a mistake to get in. Performance in big games should mean nothing when it comes to HOF consideration. Otherwise guys like Doug Williams and Timmy Smith would be in.
  15. That was not my point. He is a HOF QB and only 22 others got that distinction. I'm not here to argue whether or not he had a good game or compare him to anyone else. Any HOF QB with out a good supporting cast will have a tough time succeeding, but a crappy QB on a great team is still just crappy. Again my overall point is, it will be tough to ever find "the next Jim Kelly" in Buffalo.
  16. I was suffering through watching SB XXV last night. Through all the suffering, a slight appreciation of how good that team and others were and how lucky we were to expierence those times. It made me feel better. We had Kelly, a HOF QB. I started to think, we were lucky. How many teams get to have a HOF QB play for them? Its been 10 years since he retired, and we have yet to find his replacement. Here are some depressing stats to think about when hoping for the next Jimbo: 23 HOF QB's 3 Teams have had two (Miami, SF, Dalas) That means 20 Franchises have had HOF QB's in the history of Football. 40 SB Winners. 28 of them by HOF QB's 45/80 QB's playing in SB are in HOF (I included Brady as a HOF) Is there anyone smart enough to figure out the probablity of the Bills ever getting another HOF QB and therefore getting back to the SB? I think its pretty low just because of the fact that there are so few franchises with two HOF QB?
  17. Tony Hunter from ND Yup, we drafted Tom C with the pick we got from the OJ trade. We trade Tom C to Cleveland for the pick we used to get Kelly. Therefore trading OJ indirectly lead us to drafting Kelly. Not bad.
  18. The Bills had two first round draft picks in 1983. Who were the two players? Which one was picked first? What college did they go to? As a bonus, how did we get that 2nd first round pick?
  19. However, I like who they have the bills taking at #2 Go Irish!!! http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/multimedi.../content.1.html
  20. I once watched Jim Kelly throw two interception and almost three others in a half once. I can't belive we let him be our QB after that game he had. He sucks. Heavy Sarcasm.
  21. What would you conisder difference makers? Are you the type of guy who needs to see big signings made in order for you to feel good about the moves? How many difference makers did Seattle or Pittsburgh sign last year? Or what about New England. Its tough to buy a winning team with big FA signings. They can help you, but its not a valid predictor of future sucsess. What were Bill Polian's qualifications when he got hired? He was unproven. At some point in our lives we are all unproven at something. The best people figure out how to do a good job and the rest of them figure out how to say "you want frieds with that?"
  22. I am amazed to hear all the people talk about Losman and the possiblity of drafting one of the quaterbacks in the first round. You people need to get a grip on reality. 1) Marv has said that you build a team from the inside out. That inside being the guys in the trenches. There is no way we will take a skill position with the first pick. Nor will we ever trade up. Its too expensive to move up. It would cost us a good player, and maybe a 1st pick next year. Not only expensive in the draft, its is expensive in $$$. 2) There is a lot of talent in the first round. The hype surrounding the "best" players in the draft will have faded in October and December. I'm sure SF fans are loving that Alex Smith pick right now? 3) Losman. All I have to say about this is; give the guy another 2 years at least. It takes some quaterbacks a while to get it. There are a few QB's that I can think of that took them a few years to get it. Hasseleback, Delhomme, Gannon are three that come to mind right away. Look at the development of Simms in TB. People have been wanting to write him off for a while now. Very few QB's are in the Brady, Big Ben mold where they have sucess right out of the gates. You could have easily said the same things about Eli Mannining after his first year; "He hasnt show he has what it takes" etc. 4) People around here love the players when they are good, but they are also quick to turn on them. Its frankley embarrasing. Lets hope your boss has some more faith in you after you screw up. People forget that at one point people wanted Frank Riech to start instead of Jimbo. Remember "Do the Riech thing!" 5) All of the top 3 QB's in the draft will have forgetable years.
