  1. Is losing Gilmore in his prime, then using a 1st rounder on a CB, the definition of spinning our wheels? Especially considering all of the other holes to fill on this roster (safety, DT, #2 WR, etc).

This is frustration talking, but to be mired in mediocrity for 18 years, and be bleeding talent (Gilmore, Woods, Aaron Williams, Goodwin, maybe Zach Brown) really sucks.

It is a new regime with new schemes. Temper your expectations with reality, please.

  2. I don't see what this does for anyone. Practices are not held in the locker-room. Make sure they aren't goofing off ON THE PRACTICE FIELD...

If you remove things to do from the locker room, it'll just make our guys not want to be in there or just head home earlier. Imagine if your break room at work (if you have one) removed the TV and couches. You would probably stop going there.

That's the problem, and you illustrated it perfectly. If people don't want to focus on football, they shouldn't be on the team. Work is work. Blow off steam elsewhere. This team hasn't been to the playoffs since forever, and you are complaining about a change meant to focus the players? That's insane.

  3. again.. jamies winston GOT invited.. so who gives a sh-t what the powers that be of the combine think ...dont understand all the chad kelly hate on here.. i get it he probably needs to grow up.. but for crissakes. he isnt alone

He threatened to shoot up a place with an AK-47. That's a little worse than needing to grow up, dude. That's mental instability! Grow up? that's the understatement of the year. He should be nowhere near the Bills roster, and should not be drafted. That fact that people are thinking he should be is a total joke.

  4. This past Friday afternoon, my son Danny lost a long battle with addiction. My heart has a gigantic hole in it that is only getting bigger as the hours go by. Danny was (as some of you that met him) a kind, funny and gregarious boy...he never lost those qualities. He tried to beat his demons over the past 6 years, and was temporarily successful for months at a time...once over a year! He never wanted that life and hated it, he never gave up...My family and I never gave up on him...we loved him so much. Friday I got the call that no parent ever wants to get. He will be coming home for the last time later this week. Not the homecoming We ever wanted.

He was a life long rabid Bills fan. Proud to be a Bills fan. Wore his Bills colors in the heart of Dolphin territory...we texted each other all game long, shared the victories and the defeats...planned to come this this years tailgate. Now that's all gone.

My plea to you is to have compassion for people in his position, they don't want to be there...they hate it, are ashamed of it...and sometimes just can't escape it. I miss my son and best buddy...I'd gladly change places with him, he was so young so much to live for. Please say a prayer for Danny to finally be at peace.

So sorry NG. I can't imagine the pain you've gone through and what you are going through now.

  5. Let me get this straight ... people are advocating us spending draft picks on a guy who is near the end of his career, constantly injured, and with a contract that is very, very expensive?

Yeah, no. We shouldn't waste draft picks on a guy who has a 3-4 year shelf life, and will likely be injured for more than a 1/3 of his games given his career history.

  6.

You added the second part of your post after I answered the first. The Prodigal Son is a Biblical reference and is derived from the Particle Sun. The "Prodigal Son returns" is of course something I have heard, and it is about something returning with feelings of guilt, in this case a child....a son. When they were writing that chapter of the Bible they called it "Particle Son" as a play on words. Dialects and such have created the word prodigal. The phrase in the Bible came after the phrase Particle Sun, so I choose to use the original. It's not a big deal really, and I am not anti-religious or anything, I just think the original, in this case, is a more clear idiom.

Just stop now. It isn't helping.

  7. The thing to remember is that the Buffalo media is filled with hacks. A few are really good, but most are hacks. They are interested in grinding their ax, not reporting or finding out relevant information. That press conference was crazy - all these idiot "reporters" trying to trap whaley into sounding stupid rather than finding actual valuable information. To me it sounded like the reporters already had their narrative, and were just trying to find quotes to fill out their story. Unprofessional.

  8. I don't live in Buffalo and I don't follow the Sabres as closely as the Bills. i don't understand where the Pegual hate is coming from? Is there more to the story than just the current state of each team? The Sabres successfully complteted the tank and look on the rise - thwarted by injuries to their three best players. Pegs missed on Rex but that probably has more ot do with having too much faith in Brandon the Circus Clown. Looks like he has moved correctly moved the GM into the top power position. You can argue he should dump Whaley too, but the best coordinators are available to interview this week. It is unlikely he could have signed a top GM so quickly.

Again is there more to the hate?

I think it is a show of blindness and organizational ineptitude to keep Whaley.

  9. Yeah, it's the offseason already for us, so ridiculous threads pop up. I'll join.

I think that BB is the best coach ever but I don't think it can be argued he's not at least in the top 5. Now the "asterisk" crew will be loud in this thread, but if I'm TPegs (who is nothing more than a Billionaire who bought his favorite team) I offer Belichick a $200MM Lifetime contact.

That's an initial investment of 4% of Pegs' Net Worth according to the only true source: Google.

The return? A team who either wins the !@#$ing SB or at least a team where we can never blame the HC.

    Problem solved.

    Stojan is back.

I would love to have a real football coach, but you can't poach a coach that is under contract. Against league rules.

  10. Say what you want but the guy has a rocket arm, has always played behind a crappy OLine and we have a strong run game. Furthermore Cutler is not afraid to take shots, Taylor plays too conservative for my liking and I'' sick and tired of watching the touch passes skipped in there like he's throwing stones across a lake.

    No.

  11. You didn't include running stats. Go figure. Of course, why would you? It wouldn't help prove your weak-assed point, so it gets left out. And those INT stats for that mediocre Miami QB - more than double TT's. That's horrid and indefensible.

Keep the crusade going, though. It is at least entertaining to laugh at you.

    Correct.

For YEARS I've heard how terrible Tannehill is around here and yet...he's outperforming the golden boy.

    Go figure.

  12. Disagree. Every team has holes and areas of weakness, but you cant blame injuries on the GM.

Whaley has put together a pretty good roster. Its hard to argue otherwise.

Except for ignoring WRs. Seriously, we went into the season with an oft-injured #1 WR coming off surgery, and #2 WR that should be a #3, and a bunch of scrubs. That's pretty bad.

  13. This team doesn't have a WR problem. It has a QB can't find or throw accurately to a WR problem.

    Enough excuses, already.

I respectfully disagree. Watkins went down, and then we pretty much had nothing. Woods is a good 3rd WR. The talent dropoff after Woods is precipitous. Total lack of foresight on Whaley's part, especially considering Watkins' injury and surgery in the offseason. This would be an issue with any QB, so the Taylor issue doesn't apply here. It is a lack of talent issue. Not defending Taylor here at all, but that's a completely different discussion. The WRs are horrible.

Even worse, Whaley addresses it this week by adding a practice squad WR to the team? The Bills will be down their top 3 WRs on Sunday, they were down their top two last week, and he waits until now to do something about it? And the answer is a practice squad promotion of a UDFA with zero NFL game experience? Moronic. Comical. Bush league.

Sometimes you can offset a bad set of WRs by having multiple pass-catching TEs. Nope, Whaley did nothing there, either.

Whaley has certainly done some great things, but the talent debt at WR is a huge issue any idiot could have seen coming.
