  1. theres also another sport in Europe (I'm thinking spain or italy) thats more violent then rugby and basically it is played once a year and they actually look for guys that were ex-cons and known for being violent. I can't remember details of it, but there was an article about it a few weeks ago in Sports Illustrated. Some players were complaining cause they made new rules that disallowed ex-cons or something like that.
  2. Although the teams would love it if they all showed up and had 100% turn out for them, there is a key word in that sentence that means he does not have to show up, and is completly different then not showing up to training camp which is Mandatory and is part of his contract
  3. I'm guessing you have never had to negotiate a contract before? The Bills would be giving up the majority of their leverage if they open the negotiations. They have no reason to open the negotiations, they already have Peters under contract for the next 3 years, he is the one that wants the new deal, not the Bills. If Peters wants the new deal, its his job (well his agents job) to contact the team and start the talks with them. Thats the difference between this situation and Schobels, and why Schobel got his deal. He showed up to camp and honored his current deal, like the Bills had asked him and asked Peters to do, and let the team know he wanted a new deal that payed him more. What you never do is open the talks with someone just because you think they are unhappy and are not listening to their demands. The Bills handled the negotiations with Schoebel better because he himself handled the situation better, and did what they asked. If Peters showed up to camp like they asked when camp started and he started holding out and opened the discussions with the team, and then they still refused, then you can say the bills front office handled this situation wrong compared to Schoebel
  4. I also don't remember them running out and initiating the negotiations to give him the money. If I remember correctly, he asked the Bills for the contract, stayed in camp and only made mention that he could hold out and negotiated with the team while attending camp, which is exactly what the Bills are telling Peters, Show up or we won't talk contract.
  5. Actually Sen, its more like this
  6. Did you get a cool smoking jacket, some bi-focals, and a very large book that you can carry around and add to your "more sophistocated" look?
  7. Except that you know the Players Assosiation and the league would not stand for it and that all he would have to do is ask for a trade and if the Bills continue to take a hard stance on him they would force them to do something saying its not fair that they are keeping him from playing
  8. Because they want their best players on the field, so if someone is outplaying someone else, they will start. I know that trent is named the starter and will be, but if JP looks better in the pre-season then Trent, they may change their mind. Although I do think its a bad decision because JP is gone at the end of the year so it will just set them back a year by letting him start if he does outplay Trent
  9. that is true, but Trent beat the starting defence with the starting offence, JP beat the 2nd stringers with 2nd stringers so it really can't be considered a fair comparison because although Trent faced a starting defence, hedid it with his best players, JP faced a mostly second string defence, but he also had to do it with mostly backup players on offence
  10. I don't know, with this being a completly new offence with Turk in charge, they should be looking for whomever lead the offence the best, but it better be Trent, cause if not we will have another offseason of new game planning since JP's career in Buffalo is done once the season ends no matter how he plays this season.
  11. And Losman looked good against the the Redskins who were playing in game 2 of the preseason, and Buffalo was playing in game one. I don't think anyone should be basing who is ultimatly better over a pre-season game
  12. 16 of 32 (50.0 Percent) for 163 Yards, (52.0 rating, 5.1 yards per attempt) 0 TD's, 1 INT, and 2 Sacks 18 of 38 (47.4 Percent) for 257 yards, (76.3 rating, 6.8 Yards per attempt) 2 TD's, 1 INT, and 3 sacks 27 of 40 (67.5 Percent) for 211 yards, (67.8 rating, 5.3 yards per attempt) 1 TD, 2 INT's, and 1 Sack 22 of 36 (61.1 Percent) for 257 yards, (82.8 rating, 7.1 yards per attempt) 0 TD's, 0 INT's and 0 Sacks 23 of 31 (74.2 Percent) for 176 Yards, (74.1 rating, 5.7 yards per attempt) 0 TD's, 1 INT, and 3 Sacks 23 of 42 (54.8 Percent) for 206 yards, (58.2 rating, 4.9 yards per attempt) 0 TD's, 1 INT, and 4 Sacks Just for Sh*ts and laughs, of of those 6 games, which one is supposed to be the game that JP played so badly in that it proved to everyone that he is not starting QB material? And who do those other stats belong to?
  13. Maybe he should also call you to correct your grammar
  14. I think the teams uniforms must be Zubaz, not just the marathon
  15. I had never seen that video before, I'm not much of a Youtube kind of person. Don't watch the video of why not to buy your girlfriend a Wii fit.
  16. I bought my girlfriend a Wii cause she really wanted one, and the first thing she did was run out and buy a Wii fit, but now doesn't like it cause it called her fat. I have played it once since buying it for her, hopefully when we get our own place I will get to use the system more.
  17. Exactly, he isn't getting into his opponents faces, or trash talking them, he is just having a great time and is expressing his excitement of winning a gold for his country, being the first Jaimacian (running for jamaica) to win a gold in the 100 metres
  18. Why? I just have to play my Nintendo Wii for a bit and use the Wii fit, theres my exercise there and no need to leave the house!
  19. Not bad, but I wouldn't say it would put him in the top 5 of the league or considered "one of the best"
  20. thats true, it is their only bullet, and agents will use it to try and get better deals because it will only end in a few ways, 1. the player continues to hold out until a new deal is made into th season (not likely to happen because of how much the player stands to lose) 2. The team caves and gives them what they want so they come back 3. The player caves and comes back and plays at the current salary til a new deal is reached 4. The player demands a trade and goes somewhere that will give him the money he wants. 3 out of the 4 get the player, and the agent their money, the other happens very little. But in the situation with Jackson, it seems that they waited long enough to call the Rams bluff that they won't negotiate til he shows up like the Bills said to Peters. I think the Bills have more will power and are more serious when they say he has to show up to camp first and that this will have no effect on the situation with Peters
  21. I just want them to win no matter whats thrown at them. If its a 100% healthy Pats team, or a banged up Seahawks team, a win is a win, and they don't weigh teams wins and losses based on the condition the team was in when they played. I want them to beat whatever team they are playing, weither they are beat up or not.
  22. seeing as how his complaint with the team is not that he wants to play a different position, and that he wants more money to be paid as one of the top LT's in the game, I doubt he would come running back to re-negotiate a contract as a FB, a position that would pay him roughly what he is making right now
  23. So we know that the only reason that DJ went for it in that case was because the fans got worked up???
  24. So whens the Statler Building and that amazing new skyscrapper going to get finished?
  25. Whitner and McCargo's "hold outs" (in quotes to hopefully satisfy d-wag) were for a short period of time, and they were not under contract yet with Buffalo as it was their rookie deals. And as Faking had said, Schoebel was given a deal after signing a newer deal and making the pro Bowl just like Peters wants, the only difference is that Schoebel did what the Bills wanted, showed up to camp and otehr team functions and initiated the negotiation conversations with the team. (I.e. he showed up and ask for a raise) And you are right, he won't be the first or the last player to do this. And theres nothing wrong with asking for a raise if you have outplayed your expectations of your last deal and are getting paid less then others on your team that you are better then. But the team giving in and just awarding him the contract because they are afraid of him not playing is not the way to resolve this. Sure as fans its easier to just say that they should do it, but it hurts the team more then it helps because it opens up a can of worms and will lead to other players to sit out if they don't get their way and call the FO's bluff. Peters best hand right now is to call the bills bluff. Show up like they asked and start practicing with the team. Go to Brandon and ask for a new deal, and if they refuse to re-negotiate right now, then threaten the hold out, because then it takes leverage away from the Bills who have the most leverage right now and he can say that atleast he did as they asked and they refused, and can use Schoebel as an example that they did it for Aaron, but not for him. His agent hasn't made a peep? but I thought he has had discussions with Brandon letting him know exactly what Peters demands are and that the Bills are only giving excuses because they don't want to pay him?????
