My son was an all-league linebacker in our suburban high school league.  He went to a D3 school with the intention of playing.  He blew out his knee his freshman year, and he also realized that he couldn’t play football and take hard classes at the same time.  Some kids can but he is not one of those kids.

He quit football and got serious about school.  Everyone in the family thinks that blowing out his knee could have been a blessing in disguise.

He also said that the psychological and physical effects of his knee injury are still with him a decade later. He doesn’t understand how so many athletes bounce back from it the way they do.

Similar story to my son, played RG at a D3 collage, injured his hip in his sophomore year, went from weighing 255 down to 205 in about 4 months, I didn't realize how hard he had to work to keep his weight up. Concentrated on his studies, now hes a Physical Therapist assistant rehabing others. I'm glad he left football when he did.

  2. The injury report from Pro Football Talk posted Friday evening, not looking good for Giants WR corps.

    Bills at Giants

The Bills ruled out CB Taron Johnson (hamstring) and WR Andre Roberts (quadricep) for their second straight game at MetLife Stadium. TE Tyler Kroft (foot) is considered doubtful to play.

WR Sterling Shepard (concussion), TE Garrett Dickerson (quad) and WR Darius Slayton (hamstring) are out for the Giants. WR Cody Latimer (calf) is questionable, so the Giants may be awfully thin at wideout this weekend.

  3. I can't help but pin this on Gruden, you're a 100 million dollar coach, act like it, like you're worth your money and can coach a bunch of D III kids to the NFL playoffs. It just shows his insecurities as a coach where you were relying on unstable players and hoping their talent propels your team. Give me a coach that took us to the playoffs with a bunch of scrubs and the personal drive and strategy to strive for more.

Realistically does anyone really have a shot of making the team tonight?   I am sure some who play will be on the roster but those decisions have mostly been made at this point.   Most of the guys playing are going to be let go.  This game is not really worth watching.

I think it's more of the case of someone playing themselves off the roster, or getting hurt and losing their opportunity.

Ben Allbright said last week the Bills were interested or inquiring or something... this report is the 2nd one linking them. PFT is an aggregate and sometimes they have their own sources. They don’t run with “rumors” like this. In this case, these guys at PFN  seem to have a mole with the dolphins and a mole with the Jets based on the stuff they’ve put out. Someone is telling them, as with allbright, that the Bills are involved. To what degree, we don’t know.

I'll buy that. Thanks for the clarification!
