    It's clear to me that the process McD preaches has several stages. He has achieved a major step, establishing a culture and roster that is playoff caliber. In 2 of his first 3 years the Bills are in the playoffs.

    After last year's 6-10 season, it would be extremely unrealistic for fans to expect or demand a "championship caliber team" this year.  And yet, playing the top 2 teams in the AFC late in the season (Ravens and Pats) the Bills were within one score and had the ball in scoring position late in both games.

    There are clear improvements the team needs to make to move from playoff caliber to championship caliber, and the fact that those needs are clear is an amazing accomplishment! I am so encouraged that the next 3-5 years of Bills football is going to put the team in position to compete for the Super Bowl.

    At the same time, the number of delusional fans that expect the team to be championship caliber this year, and call for the firing of McD, or Daboll or Allen, well. In my opinion, you all deserve another 20 years of musical chairs at head coach and qb,  and another 2 decade playoff drought... Maybe you can buy a billboard that calls for Josh Allen to be cut if it makes you feel like you have power?

    As for me, I'm looking forward to talking about ways to improve, to talk about what the Bills can do to make that transition from playoff caliber to championship caliber. But I don't have the need to have a public crucifixion after a Bills loss, to call for blood to satisfy my inability to accept disappointment...

    I'm looking forward to the playoffs, and I'm excited to see what adjustments the coaching staff makes to get better themselves. But I'm not expecting a championship this year, and that's ok. Because the Bills aren't championship caliber yet. And that's ok.

    I misinterpreted the title of your post and was expecting you to start slamming this team for some reason, but I thought you summed up this team and where we're at perfectly. Well done!

    End of discussion. the guy is clueless when it comes to putting together a top offense.

    28th in the league in pass offense. ranked bottom 10 in almost every single important category. You saw on that last drive how he is holding back this offense. How come when the game is on the line our offense suddenly becomes alive? Allen was going off script and making plays with his arm and legs.

    Daboll has 1 more year to figure his job out or he needs to go. being ranked bottom 5 pass offense as a 10 win playoff team is a joke.

    Let's step off the cliff shall we? We made the playoffs and played the Pats to the last minute.

    This is what sports broadcasting has turned into in America. Part commentary, a lot of useless non insightful color commentary and a whole lot of "aww shucks" feel good reality TV style irrelevance. I didn't mind the McD/Tomlin bit or the Edmunds family story bit (both were cool) but the fixation on the Rooneys and their legacy etc was too much. Dan Rooney has been dead 2 years so I'm not sure why they had to keep bringing him up last night. As a friend pointed out to me last night, the sanctimonious portrayal of the Rooneys as the perfect NFL family and the Steelers as a team  that highly values moral character doesn't jive with the whole turning a blind eye to Roethlisberger's off field sexual transgressions ten years ago. But I guess that's all forgotten now.

    I agree, plus It went on too long during the game and bleed over a Bills possession, which I found incredibly annoying, seeing how it was/is such an old story

  4. I think this conversation is a testament to heart and character of Josh Allen, his rookie year he played behind an O line that this year could not even get playing time on another NFL team or aren't even on a roster. Yet he went out every week unfazed and just competed hurling LBs and doing whatever he could to move the sticks and taking that subpar offense on his shoulders. When others like Rosen and Darnolds crawled into a shell JA stood tall, an attribute often over looked. Thankfully Beans cleared money and gave him a real offense, but JA hung in there like few often do.

    The Odell Beckham trade by the Browns got all the publicity and love this off season.  The Cole Beasley and John Brown signings were also ran signings that flew completely under the radar.  Lets take a look at the three players twelve weeks into the season with the Bills heading towards the playoffs and the Browns all but eliminated from the post season.

    Odell Beckham Jr  compensation;

    2019   $17,000,000

    2020   $14,250,000

    2021   $15,750,000

    2022   $15,000,000

    2023   $ 15,000,000

    OBJ 2019 production through 12 games;

    57 catches

    805 yards

    2 TDs

    Cole Beasley compensation;

    2019   $11,400,000

    2020   $5,600,000

    2021   $5,900,000

    2022   $6,100,000

    Beasley 2019 production through 12 games;

    55 catches

    635 yards

    5 TDs

    John Brown compensation;

    2019   $10,700,000

    2020   $8,150,000

    2021   $8,150,000

    John Brown 2019  production through 12 games;

    61 catches

    882 yards

    5 TDs

    OBJ has the big name and the pedigree and there is no mistaking his elite receiving skills, but I think Beane and McDermott have it right when it comes to team building.  It's not about collecting a bunch of talented individual players, it's about bringing together a group of players who are willing to play team football.  I think the 2019 Bills are greater than the sum of their parts and teams like the Browns and the Cowboys simply are not.  Look how far this Buffalo Bills franchise has come in the last two years.  It's getting hard to argue against the position that Beane and McDermott are a top 5 GM/Coach combo in the league right now.

    Those numbers may be a tad misleading, Beasley and Brown have a better quarterback throwing them the ball.

    Over the cap has the savings at 7.2  million with 1.75 mill in dead money if we cut him in 2020, not sure about the post June 1st cut that option never seems to work on that site.

    Not quite sure about Shaq yet, but saving 7.2M....we need to show Murphy the door.

    It seems the only time I hear Kroft's name is on a False Start.  by my non-scientific count, he has 4 false starts and only two catches on the season (one today) - what gives... seems Rambo is way outplaying him.  Maybe he's doing something else worthwhile.  I just don't see it.

    I thought the same thing today.

    Such a frustrating game, with the Bills blowing this one, where does  the 10th win come? Assuming we beat the Dolphins, Broncos, Jets. Do they even get 10?

    Unfortunately, I am starting to feel that 9 wins is not going to capture a playoff spot with Pitt and Oakland doing their thing.

    We won't even get to 8 wins this year
