I thought that was when they canned Rex and Doug?

This is all part of the NFLs bigger picture of where they see the future of attendance. From ripping out seats in favor of more expensive corporate boxes to PCLs. They want the elite and corporate sponsors to be the ones to actually attend the game, sold as a status symbol as the place to be, as the Cowboys stadium is the prime example, pay a fortune, sip a Chardonnay and be seen while pushing the Joe lunch pails home to watch on Sunday ticket, stream, or on national broadcast to keep veiwership up for the big bread and butter t.v. contracts.

Again, I want to state I loved the Oliver pick and liked the Ford one.  But man, trading up for this guy?  Come on with the excuses.  You shouldn’t have to make excuses for a 3rd round TE you trade up for.  If he was so talented, why didn’t they try to get him the ball more?  Especially After the DK injury?  Also, with those 2 receivers, he had a lot of room to operate.

There will be some TE with good measurables that you could get at the end of the draft.  You could sign a basketball player and convert him.  But we just got another whatever TE. I hope I’m wrong but if Butler goes before we pick again, I will again question this group’s ability to scout receivers.  Safe to say, it’s been questionable at best.

    1) Foster was at Alabama, not Bryant & Stattron

    2) they cut Foster

I know I'm gonna get flamed for this, but, if Tom Brady was so talented why didn't Michigan play him more instead of going with Henson? There are players that show talent and potential that may not have been on full display for four years but observate scouts see attributes that can be used to make their team better.

I suspect we draft at least one more OT, and maybe another interior guy later. If they can identify the starters early enough, coach them up and give them a lot of reps together, we’ll be fine. It will get better as the season goes along. What I hate is dragging feet, inability to make decisions and steal the reps playing as a unit. Time will tell.

Augie, that's pretty much the point I was trying to make, I think you're just more articulate than I am!

    Why worry about continuity?

The O line sucked last year and everyone wanted changes.

Well here they are(the new linemen) and I for one think the O line will be better and the Bills have not even drafted yet.

Good vets that have been around can figure things out in a hurry and with the upgrade at center the line calls should be better.

I agree with you they'll be better, after last year I have no doubt. I just wonder how quick they'll gel and get to thier potential.

  5. I've been lamenting this for a while, we brought a bunch of fresh blood in for our O line and I applaud Beane & co for that, but from what I see is alot of "flex" players and the possibility of another round of mix and match going on during OTAs and camp like last year. Could this be a systemic problem? Or does our new O line coach and O coordinator have a plan of who will be their starters and whose depth? Or will we be fiddling with the line through week 3 or so?

Help me out because I haven't slept well for weeks because of this.

  6. There were several teams with bad OL this year...Az, Minn, Jets, Us....and very few quality linemen out there so the price was gonna be high for teams truly committed to improving their offense, I don't think we paid any more than any 'attractive market' team would've paid, Beane was just quick and decisive.

Getting a third-round pick for Tyrod Taylor was a brilliant move as the Buffalo Bills entire world knew his limitations and knew he had to go no matter what.

The reason Beane didn't sign a backup QB quicker was that he was waiting for Derek Anderson to make up his mind on if he was going to retire or not. Later on, Beane acknowledged that this was a mistake to wait for that long. Also, what he didn't know was that AJ McCarron wanted to start and didn't want to mentor to anyone, much less players he thought were beneath him.

As far as Peterman goes, I have to put this one on OC Daboll or McD as somebody must have told the Bills FO that Peterman would be a viable starter on opening day. He wasn't a worthy backup for the 2017 season either.

I would say his most impressive move was fixing the salary cap mess, the rest remains to been seen.

I would think the Bills have a sense at this point which free agents are possibilities through informal discussions with agents, including at the combine.  I know this stuff is not supposed to happen before Monday, but I suspect it probably does.  Hoping for Williams at RT, Morse or Paradis at C, one of the top outside LB free agents, and James (TE).

I don’t know why everyone thinks Barr is such a perfect fit.  He’d be getting paid 8 mill+ to play less than half 1/2 our defensive plays max.  I personally think Lorax is a better SLB than Barr

I like it, it gives Josh a chance to hurtle over him twice a year!

Exactly, being an old man getting some action and paying for it is one thing. Yea it would be frowned upon by the league, he would get a fine, a suspension etc.

They have it on videotape of him being there. The girls were being sex trafficked to the US from other countries. Even the association of that is why the NFL will do something stern. You have an owner of the NFL at a prostitution ring with forced girls on video and he's one of the most influential owners in the league. He might get the charges reduced the but the "protecting the shield" he didn't do.

I think you nailed it Gonzo, the NFL has a women problem already with all the domestic abuse, and the unspoken issue of NFL gear being produced in foreign sweat shops, now to have one of the most prominent faces of the league being associated with sex trafficking is a stain the league will not be able to wash away.

It’s weird that Mahommes isn’t mentioned more due to a bunch of things:

    - It’s the most important position in football

    - Dude looks like a stud

-He was literally picked with the Bills draft pick.

    - They traded away said draft pick with Mahommes still on the board.

    -Regency biased.

    - Literally every other single player listed doesn’t make the Bills roster nearly as improved as Mahommes does.

    - We could have used the increased draft capital in 2018 to build a better roster than we have now, rather than spending said capital on Allen and Edmunds.

I may be alone in my opinion, but I don't see Mahommes being as successful if we drafted him, the Bills were just not in a position at the time to develop him properly, we wouldn't have sat him for a year, we don't have Andy Reid, of the weapons around him, so it stings to see we traded away the chance, I like the way were taking on our long rebuild process.

Isn't this an NFL-thing stolen from the NBA? The Ravens coaches were wearing "Charm City" stuff yesterday.

What would Buffalo's slogan be? "Cold City?"

Obviously the NFL shamelessly flaunting their line of Christmas apearal, they'll be all over their website with free shipping on orders over $100! $$$$$
